| CVE-2026-59645 | 1 Bouncycastle | 3 Bc-java, Bcutil-fips, Bouncy Castle For Java Lts | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.85, OER parser recurses without depth limit on self-referential IEEE 1609.2 schema. This issue also affects Bouncy Castle for Java LTS before 2.73.12, and Bouncy Castle for Java FIPS (BC-FJA) before bcutil-fips 2.0.7 (2.0.X series) and 2.1.7 (2.1.X series). | |||||
| CVE-2026-16781 | 1 Autodesk | 1 3ds Max | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| A maliciously crafted SVG file, when parsed through Autodesk 3ds Max, can trigger an Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability. A malicious actor may leverage this vulnerability to cause the application to terminate unexpectedly, resulting in a denial-of-service. | |||||
| CVE-2026-13506 | 1 Bouncycastle | 3 Bc-java, Bouncy Castle For Java Lts, Fips Java Api | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| In Bouncy Castle for Java before 1.85, Lazy ASN.1 sequence forcing resets nesting-depth guard. This issue also affects Bouncy Castle for Java LTS before 2.73.12, and Bouncy Castle for Java FIPS (BC-FJA) before bc-fips 1.0.2.7 (1.0.X series), 2.0.2 (2.0.X series) and 2.1.3 (2.1.X series). | |||||
| CVE-2026-44289 | 1 Protobufjs Project | 1 Protobufjs | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| protobufjs compiles protobuf definitions into JavaScript (JS) functions. Prior to 7.5.6 and 8.0.2, protobufjs could recurse without a depth limit while decoding nested protobuf data. This affected both skipping unknown group fields and generated decoding of nested message fields. A crafted protobuf binary payload could cause the JavaScript call stack to be exhausted during decoding. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.5.6 and 8.0.2. | |||||
| CVE-2026-41673 | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| xmldom is a pure JavaScript W3C standard-based (XML DOM Level 2 Core) `DOMParser` and `XMLSerializer` module. In @xmldom/xmldom prior to versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13 and xmldom version 0.6.0 and prior, seven recursive traversals in lib/dom.js operate without a depth limit. A sufficiently deeply nested DOM tree causes a RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded, crashing the application. This issue has been patched in versions @xmldom/xmldom versions 0.9.10 and 0.8.13. | |||||
| CVE-2026-66393 | 1 Nltk | 1 Nltk | 2026-08-27 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| NLTK versions before 3.9.4 contain an unbounded recursion vulnerability in JSONTaggedDecoder.decode_obj() that allows attackers to cause denial of service by supplying deeply nested JSON structures. Attackers can craft JSON payloads exceeding the recursion limit to trigger an unhandled RecursionError that crashes the Python process. | |||||
| CVE-2026-9769 | 2026-08-26 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| justhtml through 1.9.1 (fixed in 1.10.0) is vulnerable to uncontrolled recursion leading to denial of service. During JustHTML() construction, TreeBuilder.finish() unconditionally calls _populate_selectedcontent(), which recursively traverses the DOM tree via _find_elements()/_find_element() without a depth bound. An attacker who can supply HTML for parsing can provide deeply nested elements (e.g., ~1000 nested <div> tags, roughly 11 KB) to exceed CPython's default recursion limit and trigger an unhandled RecursionError, which may abort parsing, fail requests, or terminate a worker/process depending on the host application's exception handling. | |||||
| CVE-2022-37315 | 1 Graphql-go Project | 1 Graphql-go | 2026-08-25 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| graphql-go (aka GraphQL for Go) through 0.8.0 has infinite recursion in the type definition parser. | |||||
| CVE-2021-45105 | 5 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 121 Log4j, Debian Linux, Cloud Manager and 118 more | 2026-08-25 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| Apache Log4j2 versions 2.0-alpha1 through 2.16.0 (excluding 2.12.3 and 2.3.1) did not protect from uncontrolled recursion from self-referential lookups. This allows an attacker with control over Thread Context Map data to cause a denial of service when a crafted string is interpreted. This issue was fixed in Log4j 2.17.0, 2.12.3, and 2.3.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-17121 | 1 Ibm | 2 Aix, Vios | 2026-08-24 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| IBM AIX 7.2, and 7.3 and IBM PowerVM VIOS 4.1 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to uncontrolled recursion. | |||||
| CVE-2026-40345 | 2026-08-21 | N/A | N/A | ||
| deepmerge-ts is a typescript library providing functionality to deep merging of javascript objects. Prior to 8.0.0, the deepmerge, deepmergeCustom, deepmergeInto, and deepmergeIntoCustom APIs do not track visited objects or object pairs when recursively merging records. When two input values contain self-references at the same property path, the merge logic repeatedly revisits the same pair until Node.js raises RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded. Applications that merge attacker-controlled recursive object graphs can synchronously crash the affected process or cause repeated worker restarts. Plain JSON input alone cannot create the recursive graph required to trigger the issue. This issue is fixed in version 8.0.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-38970 | 2026-08-21 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| pdfcpu through v0.11.1 contains an uncontrolled-recursion denial-of-service issue in pkg/pdfcpu/model/parse.go. The parser descends recursively through nested PDF objects, including arrays, via ParseObjectContext() and parseArray() without enforcing a maximum nesting depth. | |||||
| CVE-2026-53202 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-21 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/ivpu: Fix signed integer truncation in IPC receive Fix potential buffer overflow where firmware-supplied data_size is cast to signed int before being used in min_t(). Large unsigned values (>= 0x80000000) become negative, causing unsigned wraparound and oversized memcpy operations that can overflow the stack buffer. Change min_t(int, ...) to min() as both values are unsigned and can be handled by min() without explicit cast. | |||||
| CVE-2026-17177 | 1 Ibm | 1 Db2 Mirror For I | 2026-08-20 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| IBM Db2 Mirror for i 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to uncontrolled recursion. | |||||
| CVE-2026-54623 | 2026-08-20 | N/A | 7.1 HIGH | ||
| django CMS is an easy-to-use and developer-friendly enterprise content management system powered by Django. Prior to 5.0.8, the move_plugin endpoint in cms/admin/placeholderadmin.py accepts an attacker-controlled plugin_parent value without rejecting a plugin’s own identifier or a descendant identifier. A staff user with plugin-change permission under CMS_PERMISSION can create a parent_id cycle in the plugin tree. The _get_descendants_cte and _get_ancestors_cte queries in cms/models/pluginmodel.py have no cycle guard, so get_descendants() and later rendering, copy, or delete operations can recurse indefinitely or reach a database recursion limit, corrupting the tree and consuming request workers. This issue is fixed in versions 5.0.8. | |||||
| CVE-2024-58370 | 1 Surrealdb | 1 Surrealdb | 2026-08-19 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| SurrealDB versions before 1.1.0 fail to enforce recursion depth limits when parsing nested SurrealQL statements including IF, RELATE, and attribute access idioms. Authorized attackers can submit queries with excessive nesting depth to cause stack overflow and crash the server. | |||||
| CVE-2026-15996 | 1 Github | 1 Enterprise Server | 2026-08-18 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| A denial of service vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an unauthenticated attacker to cause excessive CPU consumption and exhaust the pool of request-handling worker processes by sending a crafted form-encoded HTTP POST request containing deeply nested parameters. Because request parameters were parsed before routing and authentication, any POST endpoint could be used to trigger the condition, which could render the instance unresponsive. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.21 and was fixed in versions 3.20.3, 3.19.7, 3.18.10, and 3.17.16. | |||||
| CVE-2026-15830 | 1 Djangoproject | 1 Django | 2026-08-18 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| An issue was discovered in Django 5.2 before 5.2.17 and 6.0 before 6.0.8. GeoDjango's `django.contrib.gis.geos.GEOSGeometry` is subject to a potential denial-of-service when parsing deeply nested `GEOMETRYCOLLECTION` objects supplied as well-known text (WKT), well-known binary (WKB), or hex-encoded WKB, which triggers unbounded recursion and a segmentation fault in the underlying GEOS library. Spatial field lookups and the `django.contrib.gis.forms.GeometryField` form field are also affected. Earlier, unsupported Django series (such as 5.1.x, 5.0.x, and 4.2.x) were not evaluated and may also be affected. Django would like to thank Andrew MacPherson and kimchunbok_ for reporting this issue. | |||||
| CVE-2026-47180 | 1 Paulsm | 1 Zeroconf | 2026-08-17 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| Zeroconf is a pure Python implementation of multicast DNS service discovery. Prior to 0.149.5, DNSIncoming._decode_labels_at_offset recurses once per DNS-name compression pointer, and a single mDNS packet carrying chained pointers can trigger a RecursionError that escapes DNSIncoming.__init__, causing sustained CPU burn, log flooding, and degraded mDNS-dependent features for unauthenticated hosts on the local link over UDP/5353 (224.0.0.251 / ff02::fb). This issue is fixed in version 0.149.5. | |||||
| CVE-2026-53395 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-17 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix dead ACL conflict guard in nfsd4_create nfsd4_create() steals create->cr_dpacl/cr_pacl into the local nfsd_attrs via the designated initializer, then immediately sets the source pointers to NULL. The subsequent conflict guard tests the already-nilled source fields, making it permanently dead code: if (create->cr_acl) { if (create->cr_dpacl || create->cr_pacl) /* always false */ When a client encodes both FATTR4_WORD0_ACL and FATTR4_WORD2_POSIX_{DEFAULT,ACCESS}_ACL in the same CREATE fattr bitmap, nfsd4_acl_to_attr() overwrites attrs.na_pacl/na_dpacl without releasing the originals, leaking two posix_acl slab objects per request. Repeated requests cause unbounded slab exhaustion. Fix by checking attrs.na_dpacl/na_pacl (the stolen values) instead of the nilled create->cr_dpacl/cr_pacl, matching the correct pattern already used in nfsd4_setattr(). | |||||
