| CVE-2018-8014 | 5 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 2 more | 9 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 6 more | 2026-10-15 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
| The defaults settings for the CORS filter provided in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.8, 8.5.0 to 8.5.31, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.52, 7.0.41 to 7.0.88 are insecure and enable 'supportsCredentials' for all origins. It is expected that users of the CORS filter will have configured it appropriately for their environment rather than using it in the default configuration. Therefore, it is expected that most users will not be impacted by this issue. | |||||
| CVE-2018-1305 | 4 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 1 more | 6 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 3 more | 2026-10-15 | 4.0 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| Security constraints defined by annotations of Servlets in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 were only applied once a Servlet had been loaded. Because security constraints defined in this way apply to the URL pattern and any URLs below that point, it was possible - depending on the order Servlets were loaded - for some security constraints not to be applied. This could have exposed resources to users who were not authorised to access them. | |||||
| CVE-2018-1304 | 5 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 2 more | 11 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 8 more | 2026-10-15 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| The URL pattern of "" (the empty string) which exactly maps to the context root was not correctly handled in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 when used as part of a security constraint definition. This caused the constraint to be ignored. It was, therefore, possible for unauthorised users to gain access to web application resources that should have been protected. Only security constraints with a URL pattern of the empty string were affected. | |||||
| CVE-2018-11784 | 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more | 15 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 12 more | 2026-10-15 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 4.3 MEDIUM |
| When the default servlet in Apache Tomcat versions 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.11, 8.5.0 to 8.5.33 and 7.0.23 to 7.0.90 returned a redirect to a directory (e.g. redirecting to '/foo/' when the user requested '/foo') a specially crafted URL could be used to cause the redirect to be generated to any URI of the attackers choice. | |||||
| CVE-2017-7674 | 1 Apache | 1 Tomcat | 2026-10-15 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 4.3 MEDIUM |
| The CORS Filter in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M21, 8.5.0 to 8.5.15, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.44 and 7.0.41 to 7.0.78 did not add an HTTP Vary header indicating that the response varies depending on Origin. This permitted client and server side cache poisoning in some circumstances. | |||||
| CVE-2017-5664 | 1 Apache | 1 Tomcat | 2026-10-15 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| The error page mechanism of the Java Servlet Specification requires that, when an error occurs and an error page is configured for the error that occurred, the original request and response are forwarded to the error page. This means that the request is presented to the error page with the original HTTP method. If the error page is a static file, expected behaviour is to serve content of the file as if processing a GET request, regardless of the actual HTTP method. The Default Servlet in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M20, 8.5.0 to 8.5.14, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.43 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.77 did not do this. Depending on the original request this could lead to unexpected and undesirable results for static error pages including, if the DefaultServlet is configured to permit writes, the replacement or removal of the custom error page. Notes for other user provided error pages: (1) Unless explicitly coded otherwise, JSPs ignore the HTTP method. JSPs used as error pages must must ensure that they handle any error dispatch as a GET request, regardless of the actual method. (2) By default, the response generated by a Servlet does depend on the HTTP method. Custom Servlets used as error pages must ensure that they handle any error dispatch as a GET request, regardless of the actual method. | |||||
| CVE-2017-5648 | 1 Apache | 1 Tomcat | 2026-10-15 | 6.4 MEDIUM | 9.1 CRITICAL |
| While investigating bug 60718, it was noticed that some calls to application listeners in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M17, 8.5.0 to 8.5.11, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.41, and 7.0.0 to 7.0.75 did not use the appropriate facade object. When running an untrusted application under a SecurityManager, it was therefore possible for that untrusted application to retain a reference to the request or response object and thereby access and/or modify information associated with another web application. | |||||
| CVE-2017-12616 | 1 Apache | 1 Tomcat | 2026-10-15 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| When using a VirtualDirContext with Apache Tomcat 7.0.0 to 7.0.80 it was possible to bypass security constraints and/or view the source code of JSPs for resources served by the VirtualDirContext using a specially crafted request. | |||||
| CVE-2016-6794 | 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more | 14 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 11 more | 2026-10-15 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| When a SecurityManager is configured, a web application's ability to read system properties should be controlled by the SecurityManager. In Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0.M9, 8.5.0 to 8.5.4, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.36, 7.0.0 to 7.0.70, 6.0.0 to 6.0.45 the system property replacement feature for configuration files could be used by a malicious web application to bypass the SecurityManager and read system properties that should not be visible. | |||||
| CVE-2016-5388 | 4 Apache, Hp, Oracle and 1 more | 11 Tomcat, System Management Homepage, Linux and 8 more | 2026-10-15 | 5.1 MEDIUM | 8.1 HIGH |
| Apache Tomcat 7.x through 7.0.70 and 8.x through 8.5.4, when the CGI Servlet is enabled, follows RFC 3875 section 4.1.18 and therefore does not protect applications from the presence of untrusted client data in the HTTP_PROXY environment variable, which might allow remote attackers to redirect an application's outbound HTTP traffic to an arbitrary proxy server via a crafted Proxy header in an HTTP request, aka an "httpoxy" issue. NOTE: the vendor states "A mitigation is planned for future releases of Tomcat, tracked as CVE-2016-5388"; in other words, this is not a CVE ID for a vulnerability. | |||||
| CVE-2016-0763 | 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian | 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux | 2026-10-15 | 6.5 MEDIUM | 6.3 MEDIUM |
| The setGlobalContext method in org/apache/naming/factory/ResourceLinkFactory.java in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M3 does not consider whether ResourceLinkFactory.setGlobalContext callers are authorized, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and read or write to arbitrary application data, or cause a denial of service (application disruption), via a web application that sets a crafted global context. | |||||
| CVE-2016-0714 | 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian | 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux | 2026-10-15 | 6.5 MEDIUM | 8.8 HIGH |
| The session-persistence implementation in Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 mishandles session attributes, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and execute arbitrary code in a privileged context via a web application that places a crafted object in a session. | |||||
| CVE-2016-0706 | 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian | 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux | 2026-10-15 | 4.0 MEDIUM | 4.3 MEDIUM |
| Apache Tomcat 6.x before 6.0.45, 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 does not place org.apache.catalina.manager.StatusManagerServlet on the org/apache/catalina/core/RestrictedServlets.properties list, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended SecurityManager restrictions and read arbitrary HTTP requests, and consequently discover session ID values, via a crafted web application. | |||||
| CVE-2015-5351 | 3 Apache, Canonical, Debian | 3 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux | 2026-10-14 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.8 HIGH |
| The (1) Manager and (2) Host Manager applications in Apache Tomcat 7.x before 7.0.68, 8.x before 8.0.31, and 9.x before 9.0.0.M2 establish sessions and send CSRF tokens for arbitrary new requests, which allows remote attackers to bypass a CSRF protection mechanism by using a token. | |||||
