| CVE-2025-24970 | 2 Netapp, Netty | 3 Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Insight, Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| Netty, an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework, has a vulnerability starting in version 4.1.91.Final and prior to version 4.1.118.Final. When a special crafted packet is received via SslHandler it doesn't correctly handle validation of such a packet in all cases which can lead to a native crash. Version 4.1.118.Final contains a patch. As workaround its possible to either disable the usage of the native SSLEngine or change the code manually. | |||||
| CVE-2024-47535 | 2 Microsoft, Netty | 2 Windows, Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| Netty is an asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. An unsafe reading of environment file could potentially cause a denial of service in Netty. When loaded on an Windows application, Netty attempts to load a file that does not exist. If an attacker creates such a large file, the Netty application crashes. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.1.115. | |||||
| CVE-2024-29025 | 2 Debian, Netty | 2 Debian Linux, Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| Netty is an asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. The `HttpPostRequestDecoder` can be tricked to accumulate data. While the decoder can store items on the disk if configured so, there are no limits to the number of fields the form can have, an attacher can send a chunked post consisting of many small fields that will be accumulated in the `bodyListHttpData` list. The decoder cumulates bytes in the `undecodedChunk` buffer until it can decode a field, this field can cumulate data without limits. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.1.108.Final. | |||||
| CVE-2023-34462 | 1 Netty | 1 Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| Netty is an asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. The `SniHandler` can allocate up to 16MB of heap for each channel during the TLS handshake. When the handler or the channel does not have an idle timeout, it can be used to make a TCP server using the `SniHandler` to allocate 16MB of heap. The `SniHandler` class is a handler that waits for the TLS handshake to configure a `SslHandler` according to the indicated server name by the `ClientHello` record. For this matter it allocates a `ByteBuf` using the value defined in the `ClientHello` record. Normally the value of the packet should be smaller than the handshake packet but there are not checks done here and the way the code is written, it is possible to craft a packet that makes the `SslClientHelloHandler`. This vulnerability has been fixed in version 4.1.94.Final. | |||||
| CVE-2022-41915 | 2 Debian, Netty | 2 Debian Linux, Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| Netty project is an event-driven asynchronous network application framework. Starting in version 4.1.83.Final and prior to 4.1.86.Final, when calling `DefaultHttpHeadesr.set` with an _iterator_ of values, header value validation was not performed, allowing malicious header values in the iterator to perform HTTP Response Splitting. This issue has been patched in version 4.1.86.Final. Integrators can work around the issue by changing the `DefaultHttpHeaders.set(CharSequence, Iterator<?>)` call, into a `remove()` call, and call `add()` in a loop over the iterator of values. | |||||
| CVE-2022-41881 | 2 Debian, Netty | 2 Debian Linux, Netty | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| Netty project is an event-driven asynchronous network application framework. In versions prior to 4.1.86.Final, a StackOverflowError can be raised when parsing a malformed crafted message due to an infinite recursion. This issue is patched in version 4.1.86.Final. There is no workaround, except using a custom HaProxyMessageDecoder. | |||||
| CVE-2022-24823 | 3 Netapp, Netty, Oracle | 5 Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Workflow Automation, Snapcenter and 2 more | 2026-06-17 | 1.9 LOW | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| Netty is an open-source, asynchronous event-driven network application framework. The package `io.netty:netty-codec-http` prior to version 4.1.77.Final contains an insufficient fix for CVE-2021-21290. When Netty's multipart decoders are used local information disclosure can occur via the local system temporary directory if temporary storing uploads on the disk is enabled. This only impacts applications running on Java version 6 and lower. Additionally, this vulnerability impacts code running on Unix-like systems, and very old versions of Mac OSX and Windows as they all share the system temporary directory between all users. Version 4.1.77.Final contains a patch for this vulnerability. As a workaround, specify one's own `java.io.tmpdir` when starting the JVM or use DefaultHttpDataFactory.setBaseDir(...) to set the directory to something that is only readable by the current user. | |||||
| CVE-2020-7238 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netty and 1 more | 6 Debian Linux, Fedora, Netty and 3 more | 2026-06-17 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| Netty 4.1.43.Final allows HTTP Request Smuggling because it mishandles Transfer-Encoding whitespace (such as a [space]Transfer-Encoding:chunked line) and a later Content-Length header. This issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2019-16869. | |||||
| CVE-2020-11612 | 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 2 more | 13 Debian Linux, Fedora, Oncommand Api Services and 10 more | 2026-06-17 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
| The ZlibDecoders in Netty 4.1.x before 4.1.46 allow for unbounded memory allocation while decoding a ZlibEncoded byte stream. An attacker could send a large ZlibEncoded byte stream to the Netty server, forcing the server to allocate all of its free memory to a single decoder. | |||||
| CVE-2016-4970 | 3 Apache, Netty, Redhat | 4 Cassandra, Netty, Jboss Data Grid and 1 more | 2026-06-17 | 7.8 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
| handler/ssl/OpenSslEngine.java in Netty 4.0.x before 4.0.37.Final and 4.1.x before 4.1.1.Final allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop). | |||||
| CVE-2015-2156 | 3 Lightbend, Netty, Playframework | 3 Play Framework, Netty, Play Framework | 2026-06-17 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
