CVE-2026-43216 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: Drop the lock in skb_may_tx_timestamp() skb_may_tx_timestamp() may acquire sock::sk_callback_lock. The lock must not be taken in IRQ context, only softirq is okay. A few drivers receive the timestamp via a dedicated interrupt and complete the TX timestamp from that handler. This will lead to a deadlock if the lock is already write-locked on the same CPU. Taking the lock can be avoided. The socket (pointed by the skb) will remain valid until the skb is released. The ->sk_socket and ->file member will be set to NULL once the user closes the socket which may happen before the timestamp arrives. If we happen to observe the pointer while the socket is closing but before the pointer is set to NULL then we may use it because both pointer (and the file's cred member) are RCU freed. Drop the lock. Use READ_ONCE() to obtain the individual pointer. Add a matching WRITE_ONCE() where the pointer are cleared.
CVE-2026-43116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ctnetlink: ensure safe access to master conntrack Holding reference on the expectation is not sufficient, the master conntrack object can just go away, making exp->master invalid. To access exp->master safely: - Grab the nf_conntrack_expect_lock, this gets serialized with clean_from_lists() which also holds this lock when the master conntrack goes away. - Hold reference on master conntrack via nf_conntrack_find_get(). Not so easy since the master tuple to look up for the master conntrack is not available in the existing problematic paths. This patch goes for extending the nf_conntrack_expect_lock section to address this issue for simplicity, in the cases that are described below this is just slightly extending the lock section. The add expectation command already holds a reference to the master conntrack from ctnetlink_create_expect(). However, the delete expectation command needs to grab the spinlock before looking up for the expectation. Expand the existing spinlock section to address this to cover the expectation lookup. Note that, the nf_ct_expect_iterate_net() calls already grabs the spinlock while iterating over the expectation table, which is correct. The get expectation command needs to grab the spinlock to ensure master conntrack does not go away. This also expands the existing spinlock section to cover the expectation lookup too. I needed to move the netlink skb allocation out of the spinlock to keep it GFP_KERNEL. For the expectation events, the IPEXP_DESTROY event is already delivered under the spinlock, just move the delivery of IPEXP_NEW under the spinlock too because the master conntrack event cache is reached through exp->master. While at it, add lockdep notations to help identify what codepaths need to grab the spinlock.
CVE-2026-43089 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm_user: fix info leak in build_mapping() struct xfrm_usersa_id has a one-byte padding hole after the proto field, which ends up never getting set to zero before copying out to userspace. Fix that up by zeroing out the whole structure before setting individual variables.
CVE-2026-43085 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nfnetlink_log: initialize nfgenmsg in NLMSG_DONE terminator When batching multiple NFLOG messages (inst->qlen > 1), __nfulnl_send() appends an NLMSG_DONE terminator with sizeof(struct nfgenmsg) payload via nlmsg_put(), but never initializes the nfgenmsg bytes. The nlmsg_put() helper only zeroes alignment padding after the payload, not the payload itself, so four bytes of stale kernel heap data are leaked to userspace in the NLMSG_DONE message body. Use nfnl_msg_put() to build the NLMSG_DONE terminator, which initializes the nfgenmsg payload via nfnl_fill_hdr(), consistent with how __build_packet_message() already constructs NFULNL_MSG_PACKET headers.
CVE-2026-43071 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 9.1 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dcache: Limit the minimal number of bucket to two There is an OOB read problem on dentry_hashtable when user sets 'dhash_entries=1': BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffff888b30b774b0 #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode #PF: error_code(0x0000) - not-present page Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP PTI RIP: 0010:__d_lookup+0x56/0x120 Call Trace: d_lookup.cold+0x16/0x5d lookup_dcache+0x27/0xf0 lookup_one_qstr_excl+0x2a/0x180 start_dirop+0x55/0xa0 simple_start_creating+0x8d/0xa0 debugfs_start_creating+0x8c/0x180 debugfs_create_dir+0x1d/0x1c0 pinctrl_init+0x6d/0x140 do_one_initcall+0x6d/0x3d0 kernel_init_freeable+0x39f/0x460 kernel_init+0x2a/0x260 There will be only one bucket in dentry_hashtable when dhash_entries is set as one, and d_hash_shift is calculated as 32 by dcache_init(). Then, following process will access more than one buckets(which memory region is not allocated) in dentry_hashtable: d_lookup b = d_hash(hash) dentry_hashtable + ((u32)hashlen >> d_hash_shift) // The C standard defines the behavior of right shift amounts // exceeding the bit width of the operand as undefined. The // result of '(u32)hashlen >> d_hash_shift' becomes 'hashlen', // so 'b' will point to an unallocated memory region. hlist_bl_for_each_entry_rcu(b) hlist_bl_first_rcu(head) h->first // read OOB! Fix it by limiting the minimal number of dentry_hashtable bucket to two, so that 'd_hash_shift' won't exceeds the bit width of type u32.
CVE-2026-31700 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/packet: fix TOCTOU race on mmap'd vnet_hdr in tpacket_snd() In tpacket_snd(), when PACKET_VNET_HDR is enabled, vnet_hdr points directly into the mmap'd TX ring buffer shared with userspace. The kernel validates the header via __packet_snd_vnet_parse() but then re-reads all fields later in virtio_net_hdr_to_skb(). A concurrent userspace thread can modify the vnet_hdr fields between validation and use, bypassing all safety checks. The non-TPACKET path (packet_snd()) already correctly copies vnet_hdr to a stack-local variable. All other vnet_hdr consumers in the kernel (tun.c, tap.c, virtio_net.c) also use stack copies. The TPACKET TX path is the only caller of virtio_net_hdr_to_skb() that reads directly from user-controlled shared memory. Fix this by copying vnet_hdr from the mmap'd ring buffer to a stack-local variable before validation and use, consistent with the approach used in packet_snd() and all other callers.
CVE-2026-31681 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_multiport: validate range encoding in checkentry ports_match_v1() treats any non-zero pflags entry as the start of a port range and unconditionally consumes the next ports[] element as the range end. The checkentry path currently validates protocol, flags and count, but it does not validate the range encoding itself. As a result, malformed rules can mark the last slot as a range start or place two range starts back to back, leaving ports_match_v1() to step past the last valid ports[] element while interpreting the rule. Reject malformed multiport v1 rules in checkentry by validating that each range start has a following element and that the following element is not itself marked as another range start.
CVE-2026-31449 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: validate p_idx bounds in ext4_ext_correct_indexes ext4_ext_correct_indexes() walks up the extent tree correcting index entries when the first extent in a leaf is modified. Before accessing path[k].p_idx->ei_block, there is no validation that p_idx falls within the valid range of index entries for that level. If the on-disk extent header contains a corrupted or crafted eh_entries value, p_idx can point past the end of the allocated buffer, causing a slab-out-of-bounds read. Fix this by validating path[k].p_idx against EXT_LAST_INDEX() at both access sites: before the while loop and inside it. Return -EFSCORRUPTED if the index pointer is out of range, consistent with how other bounds violations are handled in the ext4 extent tree code.

CVE-2026-23255 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add proper RCU protection to /proc/net/ptype Yin Fengwei reported an RCU stall in ptype_seq_show() and provided a patch. Real issue is that ptype_seq_next() and ptype_seq_show() violate RCU rules. ptype_seq_show() runs under rcu_read_lock(), and reads pt->dev to get device name without any barrier. At the same time, concurrent writers can remove a packet_type structure (which is correctly freed after an RCU grace period) and clear pt->dev without an RCU grace period. Define ptype_iter_state to carry a dev pointer along seq_net_private: struct ptype_iter_state { struct seq_net_private p; struct net_device *dev; // added in this patch }; We need to record the device pointer in ptype_get_idx() and ptype_seq_next() so that ptype_seq_show() is safe against concurrent pt->dev changes. We also need to add full RCU protection in ptype_seq_next(). (Missing READ_ONCE() when reading list.next values) Many thanks to Dong Chenchen for providing a repro.

CVE-2026-64068 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix missing locking around retry adding new subreqs Fix netfs_retry_read_subrequests() and netfs_retry_write_stream() to take the appropriate lock when adding extra subrequests into stream->subrequests.
CVE-2026-53313 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Avoid NULL dereference in dc_dmub_srv error paths In dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data() and dc_dmub_srv_enable_dpia_trace(). Both functions check: if (!dc_dmub_srv || !dc_dmub_srv->dmub) and then call DC_LOG_ERROR() inside that block. DC_LOG_ERROR() uses dc_dmub_srv->ctx internally. So if dc_dmub_srv is NULL, the logging itself can dereference a NULL pointer and cause a crash. Fix this by splitting the checks. First check if dc_dmub_srv is NULL and return immediately. Then check dc_dmub_srv->dmub and log the error only when dc_dmub_srv is valid. Fixes the below: ../display/dc/dc_dmub_srv.c:962 dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data() error: we previously assumed 'dc_dmub_srv' could be null (see line 961) ../display/dc/dc_dmub_srv.c:1167 dc_dmub_srv_enable_dpia_trace() error: we previously assumed 'dc_dmub_srv' could be null (see line 1166)
CVE-2026-53113 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix memory leaks in beacon template setup The functions ath11k_mac_setup_bcn_tmpl_ema() and ath11k_mac_setup_bcn_tmpl_mbssid() allocate memory for beacon templates but fail to free it when parameter setup returns an error. Since beacon templates must be released during normal execution, they must also be released in the error handling paths to prevent memory leaks. Fix this by using unified exit paths with proper cleanup in the respective error paths. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.
CVE-2026-53102 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mt76: Fix memory leak after mt76_connac_mcu_alloc_sta_req() mt76_connac_mcu_alloc_sta_req() allocates an skb which is expected to be freed eventually by mt76_mcu_skb_send_msg(). However, currently if an intermediate function fails before sending, the allocated skb is leaked. Specifically, mt76_connac_mcu_sta_wed_update() and mt76_connac_mcu_sta_key_tlv() may fail, leading to an immediate memory leak in the error path. Fix this by explicitly freeing the skb in these error paths. Commit 7c0f63fe37a5 ("wifi: mt76: mt7996: fix memory leak on mt7996_mcu_sta_key_tlv error") made a similar change. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.
CVE-2026-43391 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 8.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nsfs: tighten permission checks for handle opening Even privileged services should not necessarily be able to see other privileged service's namespaces so they can't leak information to each other. CVE-2026-43009 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix incorrect pruning due to atomic fetch precision tracking When backtrack_insn encounters a BPF_STX instruction with BPF_ATOMIC and BPF_FETCH, the src register (or r0 for BPF_CMPXCHG) also acts as a destination, thus receiving the old value from the memory location. The current backtracking logic does not account for this. It treats atomic fetch operations the same as regular stores where the src register is only an input. This leads the backtrack_insn to fail to propagate precision to the stack location, which is then not marked as precise! Later, the verifier's path pruning can incorrectly consider two states equivalent when they differ in terms of stack state. Meaning, two branches can be treated as equivalent and thus get pruned when they should not be seen as such. Fix it as follows: Extend the BPF_LDX handling in backtrack_insn to also cover atomic fetch operations via is_atomic_fetch_insn() helper. When the fetch dst register is being tracked for precision, clear it, and propagate precision over to the stack slot. For non-stack memory, the precision walk stops at the atomic instruction, same as regular BPF_LDX. This covers all fetch variants. CVE-2026-23459 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-07 N/A 8.2 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip_tunnel: adapt iptunnel_xmit_stats() to NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_DSTATS Blamed commits forgot that vxlan/geneve use udp_tunnel[6]_xmit_skb() which call iptunnel_xmit_stats(). iptunnel_xmit_stats() was assuming tunnels were only using NETDEV_PCPU_STAT_TSTATS. @syncp offset in pcpu_sw_netstats and pcpu_dstats is different. 32bit kernels would either have corruptions or freezes if the syncp sequence was overwritten. This patch also moves pcpu_stat_type closer to dev->{t,d}stats to avoid a potential cache line miss since iptunnel_xmit_stats() needs to read it.
