CVE-2022-49726 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource: hyper-v: unexport __init-annotated hv_init_clocksource() EXPORT_SYMBOL and __init is a bad combination because the .init.text section is freed up after the initialization. Hence, modules cannot use symbols annotated __init. The access to a freed symbol may end up with kernel panic. modpost used to detect it, but it has been broken for a decade. Recently, I fixed modpost so it started to warn it again, then this showed up in linux-next builds. There are two ways to fix it: - Remove __init - Remove EXPORT_SYMBOL I chose the latter for this case because the only in-tree call-site, arch/x86/kernel/cpu/mshyperv.c is never compiled as modular. (CONFIG_HYPERVISOR_GUEST is boolean)
CVE-2022-49675 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tick/nohz: unexport __init-annotated tick_nohz_full_setup() EXPORT_SYMBOL and __init is a bad combination because the .init.text section is freed up after the initialization. Hence, modules cannot use symbols annotated __init. The access to a freed symbol may end up with kernel panic. modpost used to detect it, but it had been broken for a decade. Commit 28438794aba4 ("modpost: fix section mismatch check for exported init/exit sections") fixed it so modpost started to warn it again, then this showed up: MODPOST vmlinux.symvers WARNING: modpost: vmlinux.o(___ksymtab_gpl+tick_nohz_full_setup+0x0): Section mismatch in reference from the variable __ksymtab_tick_nohz_full_setup to the function .init.text:tick_nohz_full_setup() The symbol tick_nohz_full_setup is exported and annotated __init Fix this by removing the __init annotation of tick_nohz_full_setup or drop the export. Drop the export because tick_nohz_full_setup() is only called from the built-in code in kernel/sched/isolation.c.

KMSAN: uninit-value in mpol_rebind_mm (2) https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?id=f2fecd0d7013f54ec4162f60743a2b28df40926b The uninit-value is pol->w.cpuset_mems_allowed in mpol_rebind_policy(). When syzkaller reproducer runs to the beginning of mpol_new(), mpol_new() mm/mempolicy.c do_mbind() mm/mempolicy.c kernel_mbind() mm/mempolicy.c `mode` is 1(MPOL_PREFERRED), nodes_empty(*nodes) is `true` and `flags` is 0. Then mode = MPOL_LOCAL; ... policy->mode = mode; policy->flags = flags; will be executed. So in mpol_set_nodemask(), mpol_set_nodemask() mm/mempolicy.c do_mbind() kernel_mbind() pol->mode is 4 (MPOL_LOCAL), that `nodemask` in `pol` is not initialized, which will be accessed in mpol_rebind_policy().

CVE-2022-49433 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/hfi1: Prevent use of lock before it is initialized If there is a failure during probe of hfi1 before the sdma_map_lock is initialized, the call to hfi1_free_devdata() will attempt to use a lock that has not been initialized. If the locking correctness validator is on then an INFO message and stack trace resembling the following may be seen: INFO: trying to register non-static key. The code is fine but needs lockdep annotation, or maybe you didn't initialize this object before use? turning off the locking correctness validator. CVE-2022-49326 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtl818x: Prevent using not initialized queues Using not existing queues can panic the kernel with rtl8180/rtl8185 cards. Ignore the skb priority for those cards, they only have one tx queue. Pierre Asselin (pa@panix.com) reported the kernel crash in the Gentoo forum: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1147832-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-25.html He also confirmed that this patch fixes the issue. In summary this happened: After updating wpa_supplicant from 2.9 to 2.10 the kernel crashed with a "divide error: 0000" when connecting to an AP. Control port tx now tries to use IEEE80211_AC_VO for the priority, which wpa_supplicants starts to use in 2.10. Since only the rtl8187se part of the driver supports QoS, the priority of the skb is set to IEEE80211_AC_BE (2) by mac80211 for rtl8180/rtl8185 cards. rtl8180 is then unconditionally reading out the priority and finally crashes on drivers/net/wireless/realtek/rtl818x/rtl8180/dev.c line 544 without this patch: idx = (ring->idx + skb_queue_len(&ring->queue)) % ring->entries "ring->entries" is zero for rtl8180/rtl8185 cards, tx_ring[2] never got initialized.

Based on firmware code, it will initialize it by itself, so simply zero whole array to make KMSAN happy Fail logs: BUG: KMSAN: kernel-usb-infoleak in usb_submit_urb+0x6c1/0x2aa0 drivers/usb/core/urb.c:430 usb_submit_urb+0x6c1/0x2aa0 drivers/usb/core/urb.c:430 hif_usb_send_regout drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/hif_usb.c:127 [inline] hif_usb_send+0x5f0/0x16f0 drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/hif_usb.c:479 htc_issue_send drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/htc_hst.c:34 [inline] htc_connect_service+0x143e/0x1960 drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/htc_hst.c:275 ... CVE-2022-49200 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btmtksdio: Fix kernel oops in btmtksdio_interrupt Fix the following kernel oops in btmtksdio_interrrupt [ 14.339134] btmtksdio_interrupt+0x28/0x54 [ 14.339139] process_sdio_pending_irqs+0x68/0x1a0 [ 14.339144] sdio_irq_work+0x40/0x70 [ 14.339154] process_one_work+0x184/0x39c [ 14.339160] worker_thread+0x228/0x3e8 [ 14.339168] kthread+0x148/0x3ac [ 14.339176] ret_from_fork+0x10/0x30 That happened because hdev->power_on is already called before sdio_set_drvdata which btmtksdio_interrupt handler relies on is not properly set up. The details are shown as the below: hci_register_dev would run queue_work(hdev->req_workqueue, &hdev->power_on) as WQ_HIGHPRI workqueue_struct to complete the power-on sequeunce and thus hci_power_on may run before sdio_set_drvdata is done in btmtksdio_probe. The hci_dev_do_open in hci_power_on would initialize the device and enable the interrupt and thus it is possible that btmtksdio_interrupt is being called right before sdio_set_drvdata is filled out. When btmtksdio_interrupt is being called and sdio_set_drvdata is not filled , the kernel oops is going to happen because btmtksdio_interrupt access an uninitialized pointer.
CVE-2022-48949 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igb: Initialize mailbox message for VF reset When a MAC address is not assigned to the VF, that portion of the message sent to the VF is not set. The memory, however, is allocated from the stack meaning that information may be leaked to the VM. Initialize the message buffer to 0 so that no information is passed to the VM in this case.
CVE-2022-48807 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Fix KASAN error in LAG NETDEV_UNREGISTER handler Currently, the same handler is called for both a NETDEV_BONDING_INFO LAG unlink notification as for a NETDEV_UNREGISTER call. This is causing a problem though, since the netdev_notifier_info passed has a different structure depending on which event is passed. The problem manifests as a call trace from a BUG: KASAN stack-out-of-bounds error. Fix this by creating a handler specific to NETDEV_UNREGISTER that only is passed valid elements in the netdev_notifier_info struct for the NETDEV_UNREGISTER event. Also included is the removal of an unbalanced dev_put on the peer_netdev and related braces.
CVE-2022-48747 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: Fix wrong offset in bio_truncate() bio_truncate() clears the buffer outside of last block of bdev, however current bio_truncate() is using the wrong offset of page. So it can return the uninitialized data. This happened when both of truncated/corrupted FS and userspace (via bdev) are trying to read the last of bdev.

CVE-2022-40768 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
drivers/scsi/stex.c in the Linux kernel through 5.19.9 allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory because stex_queuecommand_lck lacks a memset for the PASSTHRU_CMD case.
CVE-2022-39283 2 Fedoraproject, Freerdp 2 Fedora, Freerdp 2026-06-17 N/A 5.9 MEDIUM
FreeRDP is a free remote desktop protocol library and clients. All FreeRDP based clients when using the `/video` command line switch might read uninitialized data, decode it as audio/video and display the result. FreeRDP based server implementations are not affected. This issue has been patched in version 2.8.1. If you cannot upgrade do not use the `/video` switch.
CVE-2022-39282 2 Fedoraproject, Freerdp 2 Fedora, Freerdp 2026-06-17 N/A 3.5 LOW
FreeRDP is a free remote desktop protocol library and clients. FreeRDP based clients on unix systems using `/parallel` command line switch might read uninitialized data and send it to the server the client is currently connected to. FreeRDP based server implementations are not affected. Please upgrade to 2.8.1 where this issue is patched. If unable to upgrade, do not use parallel port redirection (`/parallel` command line switch) as a workaround.
