| OpenBao is an open source identity-based secrets management system. Prior to 2.5.5, OpenBao used EscapeLDAPValue, an RFC 4514 distinguished-name escaping function, where RFC 4515 LDAP search-filter escaping was required in sdk/helper/ldaputil/client.go GetUserDN. With the LDAP authentication backend configured for an Active Directory UPNDomain path or UserDN and UserAttr binding, an attacker-controlled username containing filter metacharacters could alter the search predicate and select a different directory entry because EscapeLDAPValue does not neutralize the characters handled by ldap.EscapeFilter. A resulting token could be associated with another LDAP identity and gain access to secrets, policies, or modification capabilities assigned to that identity. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.5. | |||||

| Fabric CA is a Certificate Authority for Hyperledger Fabric. Prior to 1.5.21, when fabric-ca is configured with an LDAP backend, Client.GetUser in lib/server/ldap/client.go inserts the username from HTTP Basic authentication into the LDAP uid search UserFilter without escaping LDAP metacharacters. An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the CA enrollment endpoint can alter the LDAP search before password validation and potentially steer authentication attempts toward a victim account. Deployments that do not use an LDAP backend are unaffected. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.21. | |||||

| Open Access Management (OpenAM) is an access management solution. Prior to 16.1.1, MSISDNValidation in the MSISDN authentication module concatenates the request-supplied MSISDN value into an LDAP search filter without escaping, while the default empty trusted-gateway list allows all traffic. In a realm where an MSISDN module is enabled in a reachable authentication chain, an unauthenticated remote attacker can inject LDAP filter metacharacters, select an arbitrary matching user, and obtain a normal authenticated OpenAM session without a password. | A security flaw combining LDAP filter injection and improper authorization checks was found in Samba Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC). When processing LDAP Compare requests, Samba fails to properly validate user-supplied attribute names and executes the resulting internal database search in a trusted context, bypassing normal Access Control List (ACL) enforcement. An authenticated low-privilege domain user can exploit these flaws to disclose confidential Active Directory attributes that would normally be inaccessible. The disclosed information may be leveraged to derive sensitive authentication material, potentially leading to privilege escalation and complete domain compromise.
