Windows Themes Denial of Service Vulnerability
CVE-2026-53535 2026-07-17 N/A N/A
Activepieces is an open source AI workflow automation platform. Prior to 0.82.0, the git-sync feature clones a user-configured Git repository into a temporary directory on the server and then writes flow, table, and connection state into it before pushing back, and two separate weaknesses allowed those writes to escape the intended workspace and land on arbitrary paths on the host filesystem: Git's symbolic-link handling was not disabled on the clone, so an attacker who controlled the remote repository could include symlinks that redirected the writes, and several user-supplied identifiers used to build on-disk paths (the repository slug and the externalId of tables, flows, and connections) were not validated against directory-traversal sequences such as ../. On a self-hosted Enterprise Edition deployment, a user authorized to configure or push to a git-sync repository (holding the WRITE_PROJECT_RELEASE permission) could cause the server to overwrite files anywhere the Activepieces process user can write, which depending on host layout can be leveraged for tampering, denial of service, or remote code execution. This issue is fixed in version 0.82.0.
CVE-2026-54572 1 Rclone 1 Rclone 2026-07-17 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Rclone is a command-line program to sync files and directories to and from different cloud storage providers. Prior to 1.74.4, with -l/--links, rclone serializes symlinks as .rclonelink text objects and recreates them on a local destination without validating the target, allowing an attacker-controlled remote to plant an escaping symlink and cause a following object write to land outside the destination with attacker-chosen contents. This issue is fixed in version 1.74.4.
CVE-2026-12391 2026-07-16 N/A 5.0 MEDIUM
An insecure symlink following vulnerability exists in Canonical ubuntu-pro-client (formerly ubuntu-advantage-tools) within the pro collect-logs command framework. The utility creates or utilizes predictable temporary file paths or user-accessible log directories when gathering diagnostic information without verifying the file type or ownership. An unprivileged local attacker can exploit this behavior by creating a symbolic link (symlink) at a predictable destination path pointing to an arbitrary, root-readable file (such as /etc/shadow or private files within /root). When a root administrator or operator subsequently executes the pro collect-logs command, the tool follows the user-controlled symlink, reads the target file, and compresses its contents into the resulting diagnostic support archive. Because the output archive remains readable by the unprivileged user, the attacker can extract and read the sensitive root-owned files, leading to a complete information disclosure of system secrets.
CVE-2026-61371 2026-07-15 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Microsoft AVML before 0.17.0 could follow a symlink when opening a destination output path on Unix, allowing truncation/overwrite of the symlink target. The destructive effect is performed at open-time via O_TRUNC, and can happen before full input validation completes (“truncation-before-validation”).
CVE-2026-24046 2026-07-15 N/A 7.1 HIGH
Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Multiple Scaffolder actions and archive extraction utilities were vulnerable to symlink-based path traversal attacks. An attacker with access to create and execute Scaffolder templates could exploit symlinks to read arbitrary files via the `debug:log` action by creating a symlink pointing to sensitive files (e.g., `/etc/passwd`, configuration files, secrets); delete arbitrary files via the `fs:delete` action by creating symlinks pointing outside the workspace, and write files outside the workspace via archive extraction (tar/zip) containing malicious symlinks. This affects any Backstage deployment where users can create or execute Scaffolder templates. This vulnerability is fixed in `@backstage/backend-defaults` versions 0.12.2, 0.13.2, 0.14.1, and 0.15.0; `@backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend` versions 2.2.2, 3.0.2, and 3.1.1; and `@backstage/plugin-scaffolder-node` versions 0.11.2 and 0.12.3. Users should upgrade to these versions or later. Some workarounds are available. Follow the recommendation in the Backstage Threat Model to limit access to creating and updating templates, restrict who can create and execute Scaffolder templates using the permissions framework, audit existing templates for symlink usage, and/or run Backstage in a containerized environment with limited filesystem access.
CVE-2026-15681 1 Anydesk 1 Anydesk 2026-07-14 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
AnyDesk Screen Recording Link Following Denial-of-Service Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to create a denial-of-service condition on affected installations of AnyDesk. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the handling of screen recording files. By creating a junction, an attacker can abuse the service to create arbitrary files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to create a denial-of-service condition on the system. Was ZDI-CAN-26591.
CVE-2026-15682 1 Anydesk 1 Anydesk 2026-07-14 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
AnyDesk Support Information Link Following Denial-of-Service Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to create a denial-of-service condition on affected installations of AnyDesk. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the Send Support Information feature. By creating a junction, an attacker can abuse the service to create arbitrary files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to create a denial-of-service condition on the system. Was ZDI-CAN-26645.
CVE-2026-39243 1 Decompress Project 1 Decompress 2026-07-13 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
decompress before 4.2.2 allows arbitrary hardlink creation during archive extraction, enabling file read disclosure and file corruption. When processing hardlink entries (type === 'link'), the x.linkname field from the archive is passed directly to fs.link() without validation (index.js line 113). An attacker can craft an archive with a hardlink entry whose linkname is an absolute path to any file on the same filesystem. This creates a hardlink inside the extraction directory that shares the same inode as the target file, enabling both reading and overwriting the original file's content. Hardlinks are limited to files on the same filesystem and cannot target directories.
CVE-2026-39246 1 Decompress Project 1 Decompress 2026-07-13 N/A 7.5 HIGH
decompress before 4.2.2 allows arbitrary symlink creation during archive extraction. When processing symlink entries (type === 'symlink'), the x.linkname field from the archive is passed directly to fs.symlink() without validation (index.js line 121). The preventWritingThroughSymlink check on line 98 only applies to file entries, not symlink creation. An attacker can craft an archive with symlink entries pointing to sensitive files outside the extraction directory (e.g., /etc/passwd), enabling information disclosure when the application reads the extracted contents.
CVE-2026-14891 2026-07-09 N/A 8.7 HIGH
HashiCorp Nomad and Nomad Enterprise are vulnerable to a sandbox escape in the Docker task driver that may allow a job submitter to bind-mount a host path into a container even when volume bind mounts are disabled, potentially leading to reading and writing files on the host. This vulnerability, CVE-2026-14891, is fixed in Nomad Community Edition 2.0.4 and Nomad Enterprise 2.0.4, 1.11.8, and 1.10.14.
CVE-2022-45697 1 Razer 1 Razer Central 2026-07-09 N/A 7.8 HIGH
Arbitrary File Delete vulnerability in Razer Central before v7.8.0.381 when handling files in the Accounts directory.
CVE-2022-32450 1 Anydesk 1 Anydesk 2026-07-09 N/A 7.1 HIGH
AnyDesk 7.0.9 allows a local user to gain SYSTEM privileges via a symbolic link because the user can write to their own %APPDATA% folder (used for ad.trace and chat) but the product runs as SYSTEM when writing chat-room data there.
CVE-2020-23968 1 Ilex 1 International Sign\&go 2026-07-09 6.9 MEDIUM 7.8 HIGH
Ilex International Sign&go Workstation Security Suite 7.1 allows elevation of privileges via a symlink attack on ProgramData\Ilex\S&G\Logs\000-sngWSService1.log.
CVE-2026-55668 2026-07-08 N/A 6.3 MEDIUM
File Browser provides a web file managing interface. Prior to 2.63.16, ScopedFs validates the nearest existing ancestor of a dangling symlink as in scope and then follows the symlink during file creation, allowing an authenticated user with Create and Modify permissions to create attacker-controlled files outside the user's scope. This issue is fixed in version 2.63.16.
CVE-2026-54352 1 Budibase 1 Budibase 2026-06-30 N/A 9.6 CRITICAL
Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.39.9, `POST /api/pwa/process-zip` at packages/server/src/api/routes/static.ts:24 accepts a builder-uploaded .zip, extracts it with extract-zip@2.0.1 into a temp directory, then for each entry listed in icons.json validates the icon path, opens it, and streams the bytes into MinIO. The resulting object is served back via GET /api/assets/{appId}/pwa/{uuid}.png. extract-zip@2.0.1 preserves absolute symlink targets when restoring symlink entries. The icon-source validator at packages/server/src/api/controllers/static/index.ts:259-268 resolves the icon source string against baseDir (path.resolve), checks resolvedSrc.startsWith(baseDir + path.sep) against that string, and calls fs.existsSync(resolvedSrc) which follows symbolic links to confirm the target exists. None of the three calls reject symbolic-link entries. packages/backend-core/src/objectStore/objectStore.ts:302 then calls (await fsp.open(path)).createReadStream() on the resolved path. fsp.open follows the symlink, the target file's bytes stream into MinIO, and the response of the asset-fetch endpoint returns those bytes verbatim. Result: a workspace-level builder reads any file the server process can open. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.39.9.
CVE-2026-55443 1 Langchain 1 Langchain 2026-06-26 N/A 5.1 MEDIUM
LangChain is a framework for building agents and LLM-powered applications. Prior to 1.3.9, several LangChain components that resolve filesystem paths or expand search patterns do not consistently confine the resolved path to the intended root directory. Affected behaviors include: a file-search agent middleware that validates a starting directory but not the search pattern or the resolved target of matched files, so glob patterns and symlinks can reach files outside the configured root; prompt- and chain/agent-configuration loaders that accept path fields and resolve them without confining the result to a trusted base or rejecting symlink targets; and path-prefix authorization checks that compare by string prefix without a path-segment boundary, so a sibling path sharing the prefix is accepted. When these components receive path values, search patterns, or workspace contents influenced by an untrusted source — including an LLM acting on untrusted input — the result can be disclosure of files outside the intended boundary. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.9.
CVE-2026-45405 1 Dokku 1 Dokku 2026-06-26 N/A 9.0 CRITICAL
Dokku is a docker-powered PaaS. Prior to 0.38.2, the git:from-archive and certs:add commands extract user-supplied tar/zip archives into temporary directories without sanitizing member paths or preventing symlink traversal. GNU tar creates symlinks during extraction and follows them for subsequent entries, allowing an attacker to write arbitrary files anywhere writable by the dokku user — including overwriting ~/.ssh/authorized_keys to gain unrestricted shell access. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.38.2.
CVE-2026-50549 1 Anysphere 1 Cursor 2026-06-26 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
Cursor is a code editor built for programming with AI. Prior to 3.0, Cursor runs agent terminal commands in a sandbox by default. Before a Write, the agent canonicalizes the target path to confirm it stays inside the workspace, but when canonicalization fails it falls back to the original path and writes without approval. A malicious agent can create an in-workspace symlink that points outside the workspace and force canonicalization to fail — either because the target does not exist or because read permission is removed from the path — so the agent writes through the symlink to an arbitrary location without approval. A malicious agent could write arbitrary files outside the workspace under the user's privileges. This enables non-sandboxed Remote Code Execution — for example by overwriting the cursorsandbox helper so later commands run unsandboxed — with no user interaction beyond a benign prompt. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.
