CVE-2026-67232 1 Broadcom 1 Rabbitmq Server 2026-10-19 N/A 7.5 HIGH
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0, The cowboy WebSocket options at line 117 set compress => true, enabling RFC 7692 permessage-deflate negotiation. The handler does not set max_frame_size, so cowboy's default of infinity applies. cowlib's cow_ws:parse_payload/9 calls zlib:inflate/2 on the compressed payload with no output-size limit. An attacker can negotiate permessage-deflate during the WebSocket upgrade and send a frame containing a zlib bomb (e.g. 50 KB → 5 GB). Decompression occurs in the connection process before websocket_handle/2 ever sees the MQTT bytes. An unauthenticated attacker can crash a RabbitMQ node running the Web-MQTT plugin by sending a single highly-compressed WebSocket frame (a few KB on the wire) that inflates to gigabytes in memory. The cowboy WebSocket handler decompresses the entire frame before the MQTT CONNECT packet is processed, so no credentials are required. Preconditions include rabbitmq_web_mqtt plugin enabled (not default, but common for browser clients) Network reachability to port 15675/15676 No authentication required. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0.
CVE-2025-58057 1 Netty 1 Netty 2026-10-19 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Netty is an asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. In netty-codec-compression versions 4.1.124.Final and below, and netty-codec versions 4.2.4.Final and below, when supplied with specially crafted input, BrotliDecoder and certain other decompression decoders will allocate a large number of reachable byte buffers, which can lead to denial of service. BrotliDecoder.decompress has no limit in how often it calls pull, decompressing data 64K bytes at a time. The buffers are saved in the output list, and remain reachable until OOM is hit. This is fixed in versions 4.1.125.Final of netty-codec and 4.2.5.Final of netty-codec-compression.
CVE-2025-66019 2026-10-19 N/A N/A
pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.4.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to a memory usage of up to 1 GB per stream. This requires parsing the content stream of a page using the LZWDecode filter. This issue has been patched in version 6.4.0.
CVE-2026-95502 2026-10-16 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
A Git server that Grafana's Git Sync (provisioning) is configured to use can exhaust Grafana's memory by returning oversized or highly compressed responses (uncontrolled resource consumption). Exploitation requires an administrator to have configured Git Sync with that server.
CVE-2026-109398 2026-10-16 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Gumlet php-image-resize before 3.0.1 contains a denial of service vulnerability because the ImageResize constructor in lib/ImageResize.php passes images to GD imagecreatefrom* functions without pixel limits. Remote attackers can upload small, highly compressed images that decode to large bitmaps, exhausting PHP memory and terminating the worker process.
CVE-2026-108750 2026-10-16 N/A 4.3 MEDIUM
OpenDocMan 2.4.0 through 2.10.0 contains a decompression bomb vulnerability that allows authenticated users to exhaust PHP memory by uploading crafted office documents. Attackers can upload a small ODT, DOCX, or XLSX file whose XML entries decompress to hundreds of megabytes, crashing PHP workers and degrading availability.
CVE-2026-96618 2026-10-16 N/A N/A
Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex allows an untrusted package mirror to exhaust the memory or disk space of the machine running mix deps.get, mix deps.update, mix hex.package fetch or mix hex.docs fetch. Hex treats a mirror configured with HEX_MIRROR_URL, HEX_MIRROR or mirror_url as untrusted: it doesn't send credentials to it, and it checks registry signatures and package checksums that the mirror can't forge. Several response paths consume memory or disk in proportion to what the mirror sends before any of those checks run. Hex.HTTP.request/5 reads the whole response body into memory and decompresses it with :zlib.gunzip/1 whenever the response's Content-Encoding contains gzip, with no limit on the compressed or decompressed size. Hex doesn't ask for compressed responses, so the server decides whether this step runs. It applies to registry, package, docs and API responses. Package tarballs have no download size limit. Hex 2.5.1 holds the whole tarball in memory and writes it to the cache, and the development branch streams it to a temporary file; the 16 MiB tarball limit is checked only when the file is unpacked. The tarball is then unpacked, into deps/<app> in 2.5.1 and into a staging directory on the development branch, before its checksums are compared with the registry. mix hex.docs fetch, and mix hex.docs offline when docs are missing, write the docs tarball to disk and extract it with :mix_hex_erl_tar.extract/2 without the 16 MiB compressed and 128 MiB decompressed limits that mix_hex_tarball:unpack_docs/3 applies. The signed registry doesn't cover docs tarballs, so nothing checks them. Registry responses are also decompressed before their signature is checked, in hex_core code that Hex vendors; that part is tracked in https://github.com/hexpm/hex_core/security/advisories/GHSA-7c4r-cgf9-9jmq. This issue affects hex: from 0.11.2 before 2.5.2.
CVE-2026-106585 1 Openbsd 1 Openssh 2026-10-15 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
In sshd and ssh in OpenSSH before 10.6, there is no check for whether the maximum packet length is exceeded during decompression of highly compressed data.
CVE-2026-105274 2026-10-15 N/A N/A
Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data (Data Amplification) vulnerability in hexpm hex_core allows an untrusted repository mirror, or a server answering hex_core's API requests, to exhaust the memory of the Erlang VM running hex_core. The same code is vendored in Hex (mix_hex_repo, mix_hex_api) and rebar3 (r3_hex_repo, r3_hex_api). hex_repo:get_names/1, hex_repo:get_versions/1, hex_repo:get_package/2 and hex_repo:get_policy/2 decompress the registry response with zlib:gunzip/1 and decode the signed envelope before verifying its signature. A mirror doesn't have the repository's private key, but it chooses the compressed bytes, so a small response decompresses into an envelope of any size before the signature check rejects it. hex_api decodes responses with the application/vnd.hex+erlang content type through hex_safe_binary_to_term:safe_binary_to_term/1, which calls binary_to_term(Binary, [safe]). The safe option prevents atom creation, but it accepts compressed terms and doesn't limit the size of the decoded term, and the check that rejects functions and ports runs after the term has been built. The fix for CVE-2026-21619 added the safe option and that check without bounding the decoded size. This issue affects rebar3: from 3.9.1 before 3.27.3; hex: from 2.1.0 before 2.5.2; hex_core: from 0.1.0 before 0.20.0.
CVE-2026-102072 2026-10-15 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
An Improper Handling of Highly Compressed Data vulnerability in the gRPC library used by na-grpcd of Juniper Networks Junos OS allows an authenticated network-based attacker to cause a denial of service via a compressed gRPC request.
CVE-2026-53524 2026-10-14 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
WeeChat (Wee Enhanced Environment for Chat) is a free chat client. In versions 4.3.0 through 4.9.0, the WeeChat relay module's WebSocket permessage-deflate decompression function relay_websocket_inflate() has no upper bound on output size. An authenticated relay user can send a small compressed WebSocket frame (~100 bytes) that decompresses to gigabytes, exhausting all server memory and crashing the entire WeeChat process. The api protocol enables permessage-deflate and requires authentication before WebSocket upgrade. Version 4.9.1 patches the issue.
CVE-2026-97334 2026-10-14 N/A N/A
The network messaging layer contained improper handling of highly compressed data affecting service availability. Software customers upgrade to resolved maintenance release. Update all Commvault installations, including CommServe server, Web Server, Command Center, MediaAgents, clients, and HyperScale.
CVE-2026-78206 2026-10-14 N/A 7.5 HIGH
exceljs through 4.4.0 decompresses all entries from supplied xlsx archives into memory without limits on entry size, total size, or compression ratio. Attackers can upload highly compressed workbooks that expand to gigabytes in memory, exhausting available resources and causing denial of service.
CVE-2026-109226 2026-10-13 N/A 7.5 HIGH
SGLang through 0.5.21 contains a decompression amplification vulnerability in load_audio that allows remote attackers to exhaust memory by submitting highly compressed audio decoded without duration or sample limits. Attackers can supply small FLAC-encoded silence files through audio_url or audio_data inputs that expand into massive PCM buffers, exhausting worker memory and CPU for denial of service.
CVE-2026-109324 2026-10-13 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
Grav before 2.1.7 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows authenticated media authors to exhaust memory by uploading compressed oversized raster images. Attackers can reference a Twig or Markdown transform so GD or Imagick decodes the full source without dimension checks, letting anonymous requests repeatedly cause page unavailability.
CVE-2026-107335 2026-10-13 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
Malcolm's upload-processing pipeline (scripts/safe-extract.py) enforces entry-count, nesting-depth, and total-uncompressed-byte limits when extracting container archives (zip/tar/rar/7z via libarchive), but those limits are not applied when the uploaded file is a single-stream compressed format (.gz, .bz2, .xz, .lzma, .lz) that isn't a .tar.*-style archive. Any authenticated user permitted to upload PCAP/log files can upload a small, highly compressible file (e.g. a gzip bomb) that decompresses to an effectively unbounded size on disk, exhausting the shared Docker volume used by OpenSearch, Logstash, Arkime, and Zeek, and disrupting the platform for all users.
CVE-2026-109229 2026-10-13 N/A 7.5 HIGH
SGLang through 0.5.21 contains a denial of service vulnerability that disables Pillow decompression bomb protection process-wide by setting Image.MAX_IMAGE_PIXELS to None in NanoNemotronVLImageProcessor. Remote attackers can submit small, highly compressed images with huge dimensions to the generic image loader, exhausting worker memory during decoding.
CVE-2025-66909 1 Turms-im 1 Turms 2026-10-13 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Turms AI-Serving module v0.10.0-SNAPSHOT and earlier contains an image decompression bomb denial of service vulnerability. The ExtendedOpenCVImage class in ai/djl/opencv/ExtendedOpenCVImage.java loads images using OpenCV's imread() function without validating dimensions or pixel count before decompression. An attacker can upload a specially crafted compressed image file (e.g., PNG) that is small when compressed but expands to gigabytes of memory when loaded. This causes immediate memory exhaustion, OutOfMemoryError, and service crash. No authentication is required if the OCR service is publicly accessible. Multiple requests can completely deny service availability.
CVE-2025-69223 1 Aiohttp 1 Aiohttp 2026-10-11 N/A 7.5 HIGH
AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. Versions 3.13.2 and below allow a zip bomb to be used to execute a DoS against the AIOHTTP server. An attacker may be able to send a compressed request that when decompressed by AIOHTTP could exhaust the host's memory. This issue is fixed in version 3.13.3.
CVE-2026-107227 2026-10-08 N/A 7.5 HIGH
The AsyncHttpClient (AHC) library allows Java applications to easily execute HTTP requests and asynchronously process HTTP responses. From 2.2.0 until 3.0.14, WebSocket permessage-deflate decompression is unbounded when compression is enabled. The inbound pipeline aggregates compressed frames before WebSocketClientCompressionHandler inflates them, so webSocketMaxFrameSize and webSocketMaxBufferSize do not bound decompressed output. A malicious WebSocket peer can send a small compressed message that expands to a very large Netty buffer and exhausts JVM heap. This issue is fixed in version 3.0.14.
