| CVE-2026-72685 | 1 Elastic | 1 Elasticsearch | 2026-09-01 | N/A | 4.3 MEDIUM |
| A flaw in Elasticsearch allows a low-privileged authenticated user who can index documents to submit a single small document containing a crafted user-supplied input. Processing one such document occupies a worker thread from a bounded pool for a disproportionate amount of time, degrading the availability of indexing operations on the affected node. | |||||
| CVE-2026-44390 | 1 Nlnetlabs | 1 Unbound | 2026-09-01 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.0 has a vulnerability when handling replies with very large RRsets that Unbound needs to perform name compression for. Malicious upstream responses with very large RRsets with records that don't share a suffix above the root can cause Unbound to spend a considerable time applying name compression to downstream replies. This can lead to degraded performance and eventually denial of service in well orchestrated attacks. An adversary can exploit the vulnerability by querying Unbound for the specially crafted contents of a malicious zone with very large RRsets. Before Unbound replies to the query it will try to apply name compression which was an unbounded operation that could lock the CPU until the whole packet was complete. A compression limit was introduced in 1.21.1 for this but it didn't account for the case where records would not share any suffix above the root. That causes Unbound to go in a different code path because of the compression tree lookup failure and eventually not increment the compression counter for those operations. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix that increments the compression counter regardless of the compression tree lookup. This is a complement fix to CVE-2024-8508. | |||||
| CVE-2025-14831 | 2026-09-01 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM | ||
| A flaw was found in GnuTLS. This vulnerability allows a denial of service (DoS) by excessive CPU (Central Processing Unit) and memory consumption via specially crafted malicious certificates containing a large number of name constraints and subject alternative names (SANs). | |||||
| CVE-2026-81722 | 1 Nltk | 1 Nltk | 2026-08-31 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| nltk PorterStemmer in versions <= 3.10.2 (fixed in 3.10.3) contains an inefficient-algorithmic-complexity denial of service in PorterStemmer.stem(). The _is_consonant() helper walks backward over the entire run of trailing 'y' characters on every call, and _measure() invokes it for each stem position, causing O(n^2) behavior. A single ~20-50 KB untrusted token consisting of a long run of the letter 'y' followed by a matching suffix (e.g., 'ness') can pin a CPU core for seconds to minutes, causing availability impact. | |||||
| CVE-2026-77680 | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM | ||
| An algorithmic complexity flaw exists in libsoup's HTTP Range header processing that persists after the CVE-2025-32907 fix. CVE-2025-32907 addressed memory amplification when a client repeated the same range many times in a single Range header. Commit 9bb92f7a corrected merge correctness in soup_message_headers_get_ranges_internal() in libsoup/soup-message-headers.c, but the coalescing loop still removes merged ranges using g_array_remove_index() for each coalesced element. Because GArray is contiguous, each mid-array removal performs an O(N) memmove. When many identical satisfiable ranges are supplied (for example bytes=0-0 repeated thousands of times), the loop performs O(N²) work coalescing them into a single range. The vulnerable path is reachable server-side from handle_partial_get() in libsoup/server/http1/soup-server-message-io-http1.c when a SoupServer handler returns HTTP 200 with a non-empty body. No authentication is required. The number of ranges is bounded only by the maximum request header size (~100 KiB), allowing roughly 25,000 ranges per request. Reporter measurements on libsoup HEAD containing the CVE-2025-32907 fix show ~90 ms single-core CPU per such request at the wire maximum, blocking the server's event loop for that duration. This is a CPU exhaustion / availability issue only. No memory corruption or information disclosure occurs. Affected: libsoup versions containing the CVE-2025-32907 fix but not merge request !550. Fixed upstream: MR !550 merged 2026-08-20, replacing per-element removal with O(N) in-place compaction and rejecting Range headers requesting more than 200 ranges. Upstream report: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup/-/issues/538 Related: CVE-2025-32907 | |||||
| CVE-2026-75005 | 1 Apache | 1 Apisix | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in Apache APISIX. A single small request can pin a gateway worker at 100% CPU for an extended period in graphql-limit-count routes. This issue affects Apache APISIX: 3.17.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.18.0, which fixes the issue. | |||||
| CVE-2026-49851 | 2026-08-28 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| Mistune is a Python Markdown parser with renderers and plugins. Prior to 3.3.0, Mistune is vulnerable to a CPU exhaustion DoS due to superlinear (approximately O(n²)) behavior in parse_link_text. When parsing Markdown containing many consecutive [ characters, parse_link_text repeatedly scans the input using a regex search inside a loop. Each iteration re-scans a large portion of the remaining string, resulting in quadratic-time behavior. An attacker-controlled Markdown input can therefore trigger excessive CPU usage with a very small payload. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.3.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-58436 | 2026-08-26 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| ParseAcceptLanguage quadratic-time DoS via Locale middleware on unauthenticated requests | |||||
| CVE-2026-59887 | 1 Markdown-it | 1 Linkify-it | 2026-08-26 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| linkify-it is a links recognition library with full Unicode support. Prior to 5.0.2, the mailto: schema validator used by .test() and .match() can be invoked at every mailto: occurrence and scan the remaining input through src_email_name in lib/re.mjs, causing O(n^2) CPU consumption on crafted user text. This issue is fixed in version 5.0.2. | |||||
| CVE-2026-41292 | 1 Nlnetlabs | 1 Unbound | 2026-08-26 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.0 is vulnerable to a degradation of service attack related to parsing long lists of incoming EDNS options. An adversary sending queries with too many EDNS options can hold Unbound threads hostage while they are parsing and creating internal data structures for the options. Coordinated attacks can result in degradation and/or denial of service. Unbound 1.25.1 contains a patch with a fix to limit acceptable incoming EDNS options (100). | |||||
| CVE-2026-76401 | 1 Splunk | 1 Connect For Kafka | 2026-08-24 | N/A | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| In Splunk Connect for Kafka versions below 2.2.7, an unauthenticated user who can reach the Kafka Connect Representational State Transfer (REST) API could configure timestamp extraction with a crafted regular expression and matching event data to block a Kafka Connect worker thread, stopping event delivery for the affected connector. The vulnerability is possible because timestamp extraction evaluates customer-supplied regular expressions without a time limit. For more information see Install Splunk Connect for Kafka (https://help.splunk.com/en/data-management/integrate-data-with-add-ons/splunk-connect-for-kafka/2.2/install/install-splunk-connect-for-kafka) and Data ingestion parameters for Splunk Connect for Kafka (https://help.splunk.com/en/data-management/integrate-data-with-add-ons/splunk-connect-for-kafka/2.2/overview/data-ingestion-parameters-for-splunk-connect-for-kafka) in the Splunk documentation. | |||||
| CVE-2026-66046 | 2026-08-20 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| Expat through 2.8.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability caused by quadratic algorithmic complexity in the storeAtts() function in xmlparse.c, where processing N specified attributes with non-normalized values triggers an O(N^2) linear scan of elementType->defaultAtts to determine CDATA status. A remote unauthenticated attacker can supply a single well-formed XML document of a few megabytes to an application parsing untrusted XML to cause excessive CPU consumption, resulting in denial of service without requiring authentication, external entity resolution, or non-default parser options. | |||||
| CVE-2026-68750 | 1 Rrrene | 1 Htmlsanitizeex | 2026-08-19 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity vulnerability in the traversal engine in rrrene html_sanitize_ex allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CPU and memory via a flat run of sibling elements in sanitized HTML. The list clause of HtmlSanitizeEx.Traverser.traverse/2 recurses on the tail of a sibling list and then evaluates List.flatten([head] ++ tail) over the already flattened result, so every one of n siblings copies and re-walks the entire remaining tail. The flattening is only needed for the rare case where scrub returns several replacement nodes for one node, but the cost is paid across the whole tail at every step, making traversal quadratic in sibling count. The traverser sits on every public entry point, so no particular scrubber or configuration is required and the payload needs only allowed tags. A 160 KB body of 20,000 sibling elements occupies a scheduler for roughly 1.7 seconds, and the cost grows faster than the body does. This issue affects html_sanitize_ex: from 0.3.1 before 1.4.5 and from 1.5.0-rc.0 before 1.5.3. | |||||
| CVE-2026-54284 | 2026-08-17 | N/A | N/A | ||
| sqlparse is a non-validating SQL parser module for Python. Prior to 0.6.0, TokenList construction and string conversion in sqlparse/sql.py repeatedly flatten nested token subtrees constructed by group_parenthesis and group_case, causing quadratic CPU consumption through sqlparse.parse(), sqlparse.format(), and sqlparse.split() before depth and token limits terminate processing. This issue is fixed in version 0.6.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-73643 | 2026-08-14 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| js-yaml is a JavaScript YAML parser and dumper. From 5.0.0 until 5.2.2, parsing a small YAML document can take exponential time when an application calls load() or loadAll() on untrusted input. In src/parser/parser.ts, readFlowCollection uses restoreState and calls parseNode a second time when a flow-sequence entry is recognized as a key: value pair. If the key is a nested flow sequence of the same shape, every level is parsed twice, causing O(2^n) work and allowing an input under 200 bytes to keep one CPU busy for minutes, block the Node.js event loop, and stall the process. No anchors, aliases, merges, tags, or nondefault options are required. This issue is fixed in version 5.2.2. | |||||
| CVE-2026-6879 | 2026-08-13 | N/A | N/A | ||
| `Element.findall()` and fully-consumed `Element.iterfind()` exhibit `O(n^2)` time complexity when using XPath index predicates (e.g. `[1]`, `[last()]`, `[last()-N]`) on XML documents with many same-tag siblings. `Element.find()` is only affected when the first match is near the end of the sibling list, such as with `[last()]` or `[last()-N]`; `.//item[1]` short-circuits after the first match. | |||||
| CVE-2026-3276 | 2026-08-13 | N/A | N/A | ||
| unicodedata.normalize() can take excessive CPU time when processing specially crafted Unicode input containing long runs of combining characters with alternating Canonical Combining Class values. This affects all normalization forms. | |||||
| CVE-2026-13064 | 1 Mongodb | 1 Mongodb | 2026-08-05 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| Certain query operations involving deeply nested $jsonSchema constructs can trigger disproportionate CPU consumption in affected MongoDB deployments, potentially leading to resource exhaustion. The resulting CPU-bound operation cannot be interrupted through standard administrative controls. | |||||
| CVE-2026-67216 | 1 Davegamble | 1 Cjson | 2026-08-04 | N/A | 5.9 MEDIUM |
| cJSON through 1.7.19 contains an inefficient algorithmic complexity flaw in cJSON_Compare(). When comparing objects, the function recurses into each shared subtree twice, once in each direction, with no depth guard, making the running time exponential in nesting depth. A small, deeply nested document of a few hundred bytes (depth around 40) compared for equality consumes hours of CPU, and the cost roughly doubles with each additional level of nesting. An application that calls cJSON_Compare() on attacker-influenced JSON that is structurally equal to a reference document is exposed to a denial-of-service condition. | |||||
| CVE-2026-55685 | 1 Shopify | 1 React-router | 2026-08-03 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| React Router is a router for React. In versions 7.0.0 through 7.17.0, the manifest endpoint could be accessed via unauthenticated targeted requests that would put heavy load on the server and slow down response times. This issue is a follow up to CVE-2026-42342, and does not does not impact React Router applications using Declarative Mode (<BrowserRouter>) or Data Mode (createBrowserRouter/<RouterProvider>). This issue has been fixed in version 7.18.0. | |||||
