| Pingvin Share X is a secure and easy self-hosted file sharing platform. A vulnerability in versions 1.5.0 through 1.18.0 allow an attacker to bypass password verification when managing Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) settings. The root cause is a missing `await` keyword on calls to the asynchronous `verifyPassword` method in `authTotp.service.ts` and the `authenticateUser` method in `auth.service.ts`. In JavaScript, an unawaited `Promise` is always truthy. So the logic intended to throw a `ForbiddenException` when a password is incorrect. It never executes because the expression evaluates the existence of the `Promise` object rather than its resolved boolean result. The vulnerability is fixed in version 1.18.1 by ensuring all asynchronous authentication calls are properly awaited. There are no official workarounds. If a user is locked out, an administrator must manually reset the user's TOTP status in the database. | |||||

| Grav CMS's scheduler-webhook plugin contains an authentication bypass in the webhook token check. When the webhook feature is enabled but no webhookToken is configured, a compound conditional short-circuits and skips token validation, so an unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach POST /scheduler/webhook can trigger the operator's already-configured scheduled jobs by sending a single request. The primitive is triggering-existing-jobs, not attacker-chosen command execution: the attacker controls when the jobs run and which one runs (via ?job=), but does not control what the jobs do. Code execution follows only when the operator has configured a job that shells out, and even then the attacker controls timing rather than payload. Not a default-install issue: reaching the endpoint requires the separate scheduler-webhook GPM plugin to be installed, scheduler.modern.webhook.enabled to be true (default false), and no webhookToken to be configured; a stock Grav or Grav-Admin install exposes nothing here. | |||||

| In Eclipse Jetty, the Digest authentication server-side component uses ISO-8859-1 to encode the password as bytes. This was done because the initial specification for HTTP did not specify explicitly a charset, and it was assumed to be ISO-8859-1 for historical reasons. If the password contains characters that cannot be represented in ISO-8859-1, they are silently replaced by `?`. This happens with passwords that contain Chinese, Cyrillic or Greek characters, for example: `αβ123` converts to `??123`. An attacker can send a request with a digest `Authorization` header crafted with a password made of only `?` characters; the server would match any password of the same length that contains non-ISO-8859-1 characters. Recent HTTP Digest [RFC-7616](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc7616) supports a `charset` parameters that defaults to UTF-8 that allows for correct encoding/decoding of passwords. | |||||

| CoreDNS is a DNS server that chains plugins. In versions prior to 1.14.3, the tsig plugin can be bypassed on non-plain-DNS transports (DoT, DoH, DoH3, DoQ, and gRPC) because it trusts the transport writer's TsigStatus() instead of performing verification itself. The DoH and DoH3 writer's TsigStatus() always returns nil, the DoT server does not set TsigSecret on the dns.Server, and the DoQ and gRPC writers also unconditionally return nil. This allows an unauthenticated remote client to bypass TSIG-based authentication and access resources intended to be restricted behind a tsig require all policy. Plain DNS over TCP and UDP are not affected. This issue has been fixed in version 1.14.3. | |||||

| CoreDNS is a DNS server written in Go. In versions prior to 1.14.3, the gRPC, QUIC, DoH, and DoH3 transport implementations incorrectly handle TSIG authentication. For gRPC and QUIC, the server checks whether the TSIG key name exists in the configuration but never calls dns.TsigVerify() to validate the HMAC. If the key name matches a configured key, the tsigStatus field remains nil and the tsig plugin treats the request as successfully authenticated regardless of the MAC value. For DoH and DoH3, the issue is more severe: the DoHWriter.TsigStatus() method unconditionally returns nil, and the server never inspects the TSIG record at all. Any request containing a TSIG record is treated as authenticated over DoH and DoH3, even if the key name is invalid and the MAC is arbitrary. An unauthenticated network attacker can exploit this to bypass TSIG-protected functionality such as AXFR/IXFR zone transfers, dynamic DNS updates, or other TSIG-gated plugin behavior. The DoH and DoH3 variants have a lower exploitation bar because the attacker does not need to know a valid TSIG key name. This issue has been fixed in version 1.14.3. As a workaround, disable gRPC, QUIC, DoH, and DoH3 listeners where TSIG authentication is required, or restrict network-level access to affected transport ports to trusted sources only. | |||||
