A hostname verification bypass in GnuTLS v3.8.13 allows attackers to circumvent the Common Name fallback mechanism and eavesdrop on communications via a crafted certificate.
CVE-2025-25253 1 Fortinet 2 Fortios, Fortiproxy 2026-10-18 N/A 7.5 HIGH
An Improper Validation of Certificate with Host Mismatch vulnerability [CWE-297] in FortiProxy version 7.6.1 and below, version 7.4.8 and below, 7.2 all versions, 7.0 all versions and FortiOS version 7.6.2 and below, version 7.4.8 and below, 7.2 all versions, 7.0 all versions ZTNA proxy may allow an unauthenticated attacker in a man-in-the middle position to intercept and tamper with connections to the ZTNA proxy
CVE-2026-19553 2026-10-16 N/A N/A
ssl.SSLContext.wrap_bio() didn't require the server_hostname argument to not be None if ssl.SSLContext.check_hostname was set. Due to a missing parameter check in SSLObject, if the server_hostname argument isn't supplied then hostname verification would be silently skipped. This defect could lead to programs where certificate hostname verification *appeared* to be succeeding with SSLContext.check_hostname = True and no ValueError being raised due to misconfiguration. If the program passes a server_hostname value that isn't an empty string or None to any of these APIs then certificate hostname verification proceeds as expected and the program is not affected by this vulnerability. Mitigating this vulnerability doesn't require updating Python or applying the patch. To mitigate, pass a valid non-None and non-empty server_hostname value to SSLContext.wrap_bio(), asyncio.create_connection(), or asyncio.loop.start_tls() and certificate hostname verification will proceed as expected. Upgrading to the latest version of Python or applying the patch only changes the behavior from silently skipping hostname verification to raising a ValueError, similar to SSLContext.wrap_socket(), when server_hostname isn't supplied.
CVE-2026-107938 1 Apache 1 Cxf 2026-10-16 N/A 9.1 CRITICAL
In Apache CXF, the Netty-based HTTP client transport (cxf-rt-transports-http-netty-client) did not verify that the hostname in the server’s TLS certificate matched the host being called. This applied over both HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2, even when disableCNCheck was left at its default value of false. The certificate chain was validated against the configured trust store, but the endpoint’s identity was not. A network attacker able to intercept traffic could present any certificate trusted by the client, such as a publicly issued certificate for a domain they control, and impersonate the target service. They could then read or modify the exchanged messages, including credentials.  Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.
CVE-2026-85974 2026-10-15 N/A 7.4 HIGH
Progress MarkLogic Server 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7 do not consistently validate TLS certificate hostnames for certain outbound connections. A network-positioned attacker could exploit this weakness to intercept or modify communications with an affected service.
CVE-2026-84393 2026-10-15 N/A 8.1 HIGH
A improper validation of certificate with host mismatch vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS 7.6.1 through 7.6.6, FortiProxy 7.6.2 through 7.6.6 may allow attacker to information disclosure via <insert attack vector here>
CVE-2024-2466 3 Apple, Haxx, Netapp 12 Macos, Curl, Bootstrap Os and 9 more 2026-10-15 N/A 6.5 MEDIUM
libcurl did not check the server certificate of TLS connections done to a host specified as an IP address, when built to use mbedTLS. libcurl would wrongly avoid using the set hostname function when the specified hostname was given as an IP address, therefore completely skipping the certificate check. This affects all uses of TLS protocols (HTTPS, FTPS, IMAPS, POPS3, SMTPS, etc).
CVE-2026-107660 1 Ffmpeg 1 Ffmpeg 2026-10-14 N/A 4.8 MEDIUM
FFmpeg before 8.1.3 and 9.x before 9.0.2 contains an improper certificate validation vulnerability in tls_open() of libavformat/tls_mbedtls.c, which skips hostname checks for IP-address hosts. Network attackers can intercept https, rtmps, or tls connections to IP-literal URLs with any trusted CA-issued certificate to read and tamper with streams.
CVE-2026-62243 2026-10-14 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Netty (io.netty:netty-handler) versions from 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.16.Final and versions through 4.1.136.Final disable TLS hostname verification on the SslProvider.OPENSSL client path when a plain (non-extended) X509TrustManager is used and Unsafe-based trust-manager wrapping is unavailable (Java 25+). In this configuration the OpenSSL client does not perform hostname verification, allowing a man-in-the-middle attacker to present a certificate issued for a different hostname that is accepted without validation. Fixed in 4.2.17.Final and 4.1.137.Final.
CVE-2025-15079 1 Haxx 1 Curl 2026-10-14 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
When doing SSH-based transfers using either SCP or SFTP, and setting the known_hosts file, libcurl could still mistakenly accept connecting to hosts *not present* in the specified file if they were added as recognized in the libssh *global* known_hosts file.
CVE-2026-107819 2026-10-13 N/A 5.9 MEDIUM
MariaDB Connector/C is a C and C++ client library for connecting applications to MariaDB and MySQL databases. From 3.4.1 until 3.4.10, the MariaDB Connector/C libmariadb Zero-Configuration SSL authentication-switch logic checked certificate trust failure but did not reject a TLS hostname verification mismatch before selecting a non-hashing authentication plugin. An active man-in-the-middle attacker with a valid certificate for another hostname could request mysql_clear_password and obtain the database password inside the attacker-controlled TLS connection. Other MariaDB connectors are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 3.4.10.
CVE-2026-102669 2026-10-11 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
Joyland AI app does not verify hostnames, allowing a malicious host to connect or intercept chat messages.
CVE-2025-68637 1 Apache 1 Uniffle 2026-10-07 N/A 9.1 CRITICAL
The Uniffle HTTP client is configured to trust all SSL certificates and disables hostname verification by default. This insecure configuration exposes all REST API communication between the Uniffle CLI/client and the Uniffle Coordinator service to potential Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacks. This issue affects all versions from before 0.10.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.10.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-85088 2026-10-02 N/A N/A
Improper Validation of Certificate with Host Mismatch in the C++ and D libraries of Apache Thrift. Both libraries install a default access manager for client sockets — TSSLSocketFactory does so in C++, and the accessManager property does so in D — which compares the peer certificate against the host name that was connected to. That comparison walks the subjectAltName dNSName entries first and consults the certificate Common Name afterwards. A name that does not match yields a "skip" result rather than a rejection, so a certificate whose subjectAltName entries are all present and all non-matching falls through to the Common Name, which can then satisfy the check. RFC 6125 section 6.4.4, and RFC 9525 section 2, require that the Common Name is not consulted when a dNSName subjectAltName is present. A certificate carrying subjectAltName entries for one name and a Common Name for another is therefore accepted for a connection to the second name. Exploitation requires an attacker positioned on the network path who holds a certificate that chains to a certificate authority in the client's trust store and whose Common Name matches the connected host name. Public certificate authorities have not issued on Common Name alone for many years, so this is principally a concern for deployments using a private or enterprise public-key infrastructure. This issue affects the C++ library of Apache Thrift from 0.7.0 through 0.24.0 and the D library from 0.9.0 through 0.24.0. Users should upgrade to 0.25.0.
CVE-2026-63374 2026-09-28 N/A N/A
AnyIO is a high level asynchronous concurrency and networking framework that works on top of either Trio or asyncio. Prior to 4.14.2, connect_tcp() and TLSStream.wrap() can validate internationalized host names after the standard library converts them with IDNA 2003 instead of IDNA 2008. When a connection to a non-ASCII domain is hijacked or redirected, an attacker can obtain a legitimate certificate for the different ASCII hostname produced by IDNA 2003 and present it to the client, causing the malicious endpoint's certificate to validate. This issue is fixed in version 4.14.2.
CVE-2026-91166 2026-09-24 N/A 5.7 MEDIUM
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. From 0.25.0 until 0.27.6, the browser SSH path in warpgate-web-ssh/src/manager.rs handles RCEvent::HostKeyUnknown without the presenting hop identity and instead passes ssh_options.host and ssh_options.port for the final target to KnownHosts::trust. In Prompt and AutoAccept modes, a jump host key can therefore be stored for the target address. A machine later presenting the jump host key at the target address can be accepted as the target, allowing interception of user traffic and a newly issued certificate when certificate authentication is used. The native SSH path is unaffected because it tracks each hop separately. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.6.
CVE-2025-3501 2026-09-21 N/A 8.2 HIGH
A flaw was found in Keycloak. By setting a verification policy to 'ALL', the trust store certificate verification is skipped, which is unintended.
CVE-2026-49457 2026-09-18 N/A 9.1 CRITICAL
erlang_quic is a pure Erlang QUIC implementation. Prior to version 1.4.4, the QUIC client did not authenticate the server during the TLS 1.3 handshake. The CertificateVerify signature was not checked, the certificate chain was not validated, and the hostname was not compared against the certificate, so `verify` was effectively a no-op on the client. A man-in-the-middle on the network path could present any certificate and impersonate any server, defeating the confidentiality and integrity of the connection. HTTP/3 uses the same client and was equally affected. Handshakes authenticated by a PSK (session resumption) are not affected, because the peer is authenticated by the PSK binder and no certificate is sent. This is fixed in 1.4.4. The client now verifies the CertificateVerify signature, validates the certificate chain against the trust store (`cacerts` option, the operating system store by default), and checks the hostname. Client `verify` now defaults to on; set `verify => false` to accept any certificate (for example a self-signed test server). No known workarounds are available before 1.4.4. `verify => true` had no effect, and inspecting the certificate after connecting does not help because without the signature check the peer is never proven to own the certificate it presents.
CVE-2026-92943 2026-09-18 N/A 8.1 HIGH
Improper validation of certificate with host mismatch in the MQTT client TLS connection layer in AWS IoT Device SDK for Python 1.5.3 through 1.6.0 on Python 3.7 and later might allow an adversary-in-the-middle actor to impersonate the AWS IoT Core endpoint, read device telemetry, and inject arbitrary MQTT messages that the device processes as authentic, via a certificate issued for an unrelated hostname by a certificate authority present in the device trust store. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 1.6.1.
CVE-2026-59969 1 Apache 1 Zookeeper 2026-09-18 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Apache ZooKeeper quorum TLS fails to enforce peer hostname verification in FIPS-mode deployments. When sslQuorum=true, zookeeper.fips-mode=true, ssl.quorum.hostnameVerification=true, and ssl.quorum.clientHostnameVerification=true are enabled, the Java SSLSocket quorum path accepts a CA-trusted peer certificate whose SAN does not match the connected host. A malicious or misissued peer certificate can therefore join quorum traffic, participate in leader election, and enter replication flows. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.8.7 or 3.9.6, which fixes the issue.
