| CVE-2026-31701 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: caiaq: take a reference on the USB device in create_card() The caiaq driver stores a pointer to the parent USB device in cdev->chip.dev but never takes a reference on it. The card's private_free callback, snd_usb_caiaq_card_free(), can run asynchronously via snd_card_free_when_closed() after the USB device has already been disconnected and freed, so any access to cdev->chip.dev in that path dereferences a freed usb_device. On top of the refcounting issue, the current card_free implementation calls usb_reset_device(cdev->chip.dev). A reset in a free callback is inappropriate: the device is going away, the call takes the device lock in a teardown context, and the reset races with the disconnect path that the callback is already cleaning up after. Take a reference on the USB device in create_card() with usb_get_dev(), drop it with usb_put_dev() in the free callback, and remove the usb_reset_device() call. | |||||

| CVE-2026-31696 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix missing validation of ticket length in non-XDR key preparsing In rxrpc_preparse(), there are two paths for parsing key payloads: the XDR path (for large payloads) and the non-XDR path (for payloads <= 28 bytes). While the XDR path (rxrpc_preparse_xdr_rxkad()) correctly validates the ticket length against AFSTOKEN_RK_TIX_MAX, the non-XDR path fails to do so. This allows an unprivileged user to provide a very large ticket length. When this key is later read via rxrpc_read(), the total token size (toksize) calculation results in a value that exceeds AFSTOKEN_LENGTH_MAX, triggering a WARN_ON(). [ 2001.302904] WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 2108 at net/rxrpc/key.c:778 rxrpc_read+0x109/0x5c0 [rxrpc] Fix this by adding a check in the non-XDR parsing path of rxrpc_preparse() to ensure the ticket length does not exceed AFSTOKEN_RK_TIX_MAX, bringing it into parity with the XDR parsing logic. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: virt_wifi: remove SET_NETDEV_DEV to avoid use-after-free Currently we execute `SET_NETDEV_DEV(dev, &priv->lowerdev->dev)` for the virt_wifi net devices. However, unregistering a virt_wifi device in netdev_run_todo() can happen together with the device referenced by SET_NETDEV_DEV(). It can result in use-after-free during the ethtool operations performed on a virt_wifi device that is currently being unregistered. Such a net device can have the `dev.parent` field pointing to the freed memory, but ethnl_ops_begin() calls `pm_runtime_get_sync(dev->dev.parent)`. Let's remove SET_NETDEV_DEV for virt_wifi to avoid bugs like this: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __pm_runtime_resume+0xe2/0xf0 Read of size 2 at addr ffff88810cfc46f8 by task pm/606 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x4d/0x70 print_report+0x170/0x4f3 ? __pfx__raw_spin_lock_irqsave+0x10/0x10 kasan_report+0xda/0x110 ? __pm_runtime_resume+0xe2/0xf0 ? __pm_runtime_resume+0xe2/0xf0 __pm_runtime_resume+0xe2/0xf0 ethnl_ops_begin+0x49/0x270 ethnl_set_features+0x23c/0xab0 ? __pfx_ethnl_set_features+0x10/0x10 ? kvm_sched_clock_read+0x11/0x20 ? local_clock_noinstr+0xf/0xf0 ? local_clock+0x10/0x30 ? kasan_save_track+0x25/0x60 ? __kasan_kmalloc+0x7f/0x90 ? genl_family_rcv_msg_attrs_parse.isra.0+0x150/0x2c0 genl_family_rcv_msg_doit+0x1e7/0x2c0 ? __pfx_genl_family_rcv_msg_doit+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_cred_has_capability.isra.0+0x10/0x10 ? stack_trace_save+0x8e/0xc0 genl_rcv_msg+0x411/0x660 ? __pfx_genl_rcv_msg+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_ethnl_set_features+0x10/0x10 netlink_rcv_skb+0x121/0x380 ? __pfx_genl_rcv_msg+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_netlink_rcv_skb+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_down_read+0x10/0x10 genl_rcv+0x23/0x30 netlink_unicast+0x60f/0x830 ? __pfx_netlink_unicast+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx___alloc_skb+0x10/0x10 netlink_sendmsg+0x6ea/0xbc0 ? __pfx_netlink_sendmsg+0x10/0x10 ? __futex_queue+0x10b/0x1f0 ____sys_sendmsg+0x7a2/0x950 ? copy_msghdr_from_user+0x26b/0x430 ? __pfx_____sys_sendmsg+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_copy_msghdr_from_user+0x10/0x10 ___sys_sendmsg+0xf8/0x180 ? __pfx____sys_sendmsg+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_futex_wait+0x10/0x10 ? fdget+0x2e4/0x4a0 __sys_sendmsg+0x11f/0x1c0 ? __pfx___sys_sendmsg+0x10/0x10 do_syscall_64+0xe2/0x570 ? exc_page_fault+0x66/0xb0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f </TASK> This fix may be combined with another one in the ethtool subsystem: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20260322075917.254874-1-alex.popov@linux.com/T/#u | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cifs: some missing initializations on replay In several places in the code, we have a label to signify the start of the code where a request can be replayed if necessary. However, some of these places were missing the necessary reinitializations of certain local variables before replay. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtnetlink: add missing netlink_ns_capable() check for peer netns rtnl_newlink() lacks a CAP_NET_ADMIN capability check on the peer network namespace when creating paired devices (veth, vxcan, netkit). Add a netlink_ns_capable() check for CAP_NET_ADMIN in the peer namespace before allowing device creation to proceed. | |||||
| CVE-2026-31691 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igb: remove napi_synchronize() in igb_down() When an AF_XDP zero-copy application terminates abruptly (e.g., kill -9), the XSK buffer pool is destroyed but NAPI polling continues. igb_clean_rx_irq_zc() repeatedly returns the full budget, preventing napi_complete_done() from clearing NAPI_STATE_SCHED. igb_down() calls napi_synchronize() before napi_disable() for each queue vector. napi_synchronize() spins waiting for NAPI_STATE_SCHED to clear, which never happens. igb_down() blocks indefinitely, the TX watchdog fires, and the TX queue remains permanently stalled. napi_disable() already handles this correctly: it sets NAPI_STATE_DISABLE. After a full-budget poll, __napi_poll() checks napi_disable_pending(). If set, it forces completion and clears NAPI_STATE_SCHED, breaking the loop that napi_synchronize() cannot. napi_synchronize() was added in commit 41f149a285da ("igb: Fix possible panic caused by Rx traffic arrival while interface is down"). napi_disable() provides stronger guarantees: it prevents further scheduling and waits for any active poll to exit. Other Intel drivers (ixgbe, ice, i40e) use napi_disable() without a preceding napi_synchronize() in their down paths. Remove redundant napi_synchronize() call and reorder napi_disable() before igb_set_queue_napi() so the queue-to-NAPI mapping is only cleared after polling has fully stopped. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: thead: Fix buffer overflow and use standard endian macros Addresses two issues in the TH1520 AON firmware protocol driver: 1. Fix a potential buffer overflow where the code used unsafe pointer arithmetic to access the 'mode' field through the 'resource' pointer with an offset. This was flagged by Smatch static checker as: "buffer overflow 'data' 2 <= 3" 2. Replace custom RPC_SET_BE* and RPC_GET_BE* macros with standard kernel endianness conversion macros (cpu_to_be16, etc.) for better portability and maintainability. The functionality was re-tested with the GPU power-up sequence, confirming the GPU powers up correctly and the driver probes successfully. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: omap: do not register driver in probe() Commit 11a78b794496 ("ARM: OMAP: MPUIO wake updates") registers the omap_mpuio_driver from omap_mpuio_init(), which is called from omap_gpio_probe(). However, it neither makes sense to register drivers from probe() callbacks of other drivers, nor does the driver core allow registering drivers with a device lock already being held. The latter was revealed by commit dc23806a7c47 ("driver core: enforce device_lock for driver_match_device()") leading to a potential deadlock condition described in [1]. Additionally, the omap_mpuio_driver is never unregistered from the driver core, even if the module is unloaded. Hence, register the omap_mpuio_driver from the module initcall and unregister it in module_exit(). | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/kasan: fix double free for kasan pXds kasan_free_pxd() assumes the page table is always struct page aligned. But that's not always the case for all architectures. E.g. In case of powerpc with 64K pagesize, PUD table (of size 4096) comes from slab cache named pgtable-2^9. Hence instead of page_to_virt(pxd_page()) let's just directly pass the start of the pxd table which is passed as the 1st argument. | CVE-2026-31685 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 9.4 CRITICAL |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ip6t_eui64: reject invalid MAC header for all packets `eui64_mt6()` derives a modified EUI-64 from the Ethernet source address and compares it with the low 64 bits of the IPv6 source address. The existing guard only rejects an invalid MAC header when `par->fragoff != 0`. For packets with `par->fragoff == 0`, `eui64_mt6()` can still reach `eth_hdr(skb)` even when the MAC header is not valid. Fix this by removing the `par->fragoff != 0` condition so that packets with an invalid MAC header are rejected before accessing `eth_hdr(skb)`. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: sched: act_csum: validate nested VLAN headers tcf_csum_act() walks nested VLAN headers directly from skb->data when an skb still carries in-payload VLAN tags. The current code reads vlan->h_vlan_encapsulated_proto and then pulls VLAN_HLEN bytes without first ensuring that the full VLAN header is present in the linear area. If only part of an inner VLAN header is linearized, accessing h_vlan_encapsulated_proto reads past the linear area, and the following skb_pull(VLAN_HLEN) may violate skb invariants. Fix this by requiring pskb_may_pull(skb, VLAN_HLEN) before accessing and pulling each nested VLAN header. If the header still is not fully available, drop the packet through the existing error path. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: avoid OGM aggregation when skb tailroom is insufficient When OGM aggregation state is toggled at runtime, an existing forwarded packet may have been allocated with only packet_len bytes, while a later packet can still be selected for aggregation. Appending in this case can hit skb_put overflow conditions. Reject aggregation when the target skb tailroom cannot accommodate the new packet. The caller then falls back to creating a new forward packet instead of appending. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openvswitch: validate MPLS set/set_masked payload length validate_set() accepted OVS_KEY_ATTR_MPLS as variable-sized payload for SET/SET_MASKED actions. In action handling, OVS expects fixed-size MPLS key data (struct ovs_key_mpls). Use the already normalized key_len (masked case included) and reject non-matching MPLS action key sizes. Reject invalid MPLS action payload lengths early. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: openvswitch: defer tunnel netdev_put to RCU release ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy() may run after NETDEV_UNREGISTER already detached the device. Dropping the netdev reference in destroy can race with concurrent readers that still observe vport->dev. Do not release vport->dev in ovs_netdev_tunnel_destroy(). Instead, let vport_netdev_free() drop the reference from the RCU callback, matching the non-tunnel destroy path and avoiding additional synchronization under RTNL. | |||||
| CVE-2026-31677 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: af_alg - limit RX SG extraction by receive buffer budget Make af_alg_get_rsgl() limit each RX scatterlist extraction to the remaining receive buffer budget. af_alg_get_rsgl() currently uses af_alg_readable() only as a gate before extracting data into the RX scatterlist. Limit each extraction to the remaining af_alg_rcvbuf(sk) budget so that receive-side accounting matches the amount of data attached to the request. If skcipher cannot obtain enough RX space for at least one chunk while more data remains to be processed, reject the recvmsg call instead of rounding the request length down to zero. | |||||
| CVE-2026-31676 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: only handle RESPONSE during service challenge Only process RESPONSE packets while the service connection is still in RXRPC_CONN_SERVICE_CHALLENGING. Check that state under state_lock before running response verification and security initialization, then use a local secured flag to decide whether to queue the secured-connection work after the state transition. This keeps duplicate or late RESPONSE packets from re-running the setup path and removes the unlocked post-transition state test. | |||||
