| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes and large memory consumption. This requires parsing the /ToUnicode entry of a font with unusually large values, for example during text extraction. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.7.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-102994 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.18.0, a crafted PDF containing indirect-object identifiers or generation-number tokens that continue for a long time without whitespace can cause pypdf/_reader.py and pypdf/generic/_base.py to scan excessive input through read_until_whitespace, resulting in long runtimes and application unavailability. This issue is fixed in version 6.18.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-48156 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 3.3 LOW |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires cross-reference streams with /W [0 0 0] values and large /Size values. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-59935 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.14.2, an attacker can craft a PDF with a page content stream containing a not terminated inline image that uses the ASCII85 or ASCIIHex filters, causing an infinite loop during parsing such as when extracting page text. This issue is fixed in version 6.14.2. | |||||
| CVE-2026-71852 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 3.3 LOW |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.15.0, a crafted PDF can cause long runtimes and large memory consumption when pypdf/_font.py function Font._collect_cid_character_widths expands unusually large CID font /W width ranges or excessive width entries during text extraction. This issue is fixed in 6.15.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-119203 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.4, pypdf can enter an infinite loop while opening a crafted incomplete PDF whose standard cross-reference table reaches the end of the file without a trailer. The trailer search can repeatedly rewind to the same stream position instead of terminating when parsing makes no progress, blocking the processing thread. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.4. | |||||
| CVE-2023-36807 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 6.2 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a pure-python PDF library capable of splitting, merging, cropping, and transforming the pages of PDF files. In version 2.10.5 an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This infinite loop blocks the current process and can utilize a single core of the CPU by 100%. It does not affect memory usage. That is, for example, the case if the user extracted metadata from such a malformed PDF. Versions prior to 2.10.5 throw an error, but do not hang forever. This issue was fixed with https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/pull/1331 which has been included in release 2.10.6. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade should modify `PyPDF2/generic/_data_structures.py::read_object` to an an error throwing case. See GHSA-hm9v-vj3r-r55m for details. | |||||
| CVE-2026-102993 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.17.0, a crafted PDF can provide unusually large Roman page-label values that cause pypdf/_page_labels.py to generate excessively large numeral strings when an application retrieves document page labels, consuming large amounts of memory and potentially making the application unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 6.17.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-119204 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.4, pypdf can consume excessive memory while parsing a crafted PDF page tree containing many shared resources. Page-tree flattening copies page dictionary and inherited resource entries without a document-wide entry budget, allowing the crafted resource structure to cause disproportionate allocations. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.4. | |||||
| CVE-2026-24688 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 4.3 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. An attacker who uses an infinite loop vulnerability that is present in versions prior to 6.6.2 can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires accessing the outlines/bookmarks. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.6.2. If projects cannot upgrade yet, consider applying the changes from PR #3610 manually. | |||||
| CVE-2026-27024 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires accessing the children of a TreeObject, for example as part of outlines. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.7.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-84310 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 3.3 LOW |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.16.1, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes pypdf/_doc_common.py _get_outline to consume long runtimes and large amounts of memory when retrieving document outlines with large numbers of entries or deeply nested reused paths because the traversal lacked global entry-count and nesting-depth limits. This issue is fixed in version 6.16.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-84311 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 3.3 LOW |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.16.1, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes pypdf/_page.py PageObject._extract_text and PageObject.extract_xform_text to traverse a directed acyclic graph of reused form XObjects in which each form invokes a child multiple times, creating exponentially many traversal paths and causing long runtimes and large memory consumption. This issue is fixed in version 6.16.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-41312 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. An attacker who uses a vulnerability present in versions prior to 6.10.2 can craft a PDF which leads to the RAM being exhausted. This requires accessing a stream compressed using `/FlateDecode` with a `/Predictor` unequal 1 and large predictor parameters. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.10.2. As a workaround, one may apply the changes from the patch manually. | |||||
| CVE-2026-82398 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.15.0, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes long runtimes when the pypdf/_utils.py function read_until_whitespace reads a stream containing a long run of bytes without whitespace. The function repeatedly performs immutable bytes concatenation in a one-byte loop, causing quadratic processing cost for the long non-whitespace input. This issue is fixed in version 6.15.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-27026 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.1, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to long runtimes. This requires a malformed /FlateDecode stream, where the byte-by-byte decompression is used. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.7.1. | |||||
| CVE-2026-119208 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.3, pypdf can consume excessive time and memory when an application accesses the page count of a crafted encrypted PDF whose page tree declares a forged /Count value. Even after successful decryption, page-count retrieval trusts the unvalidated declared count instead of walking the page tree, allowing the attacker-controlled value to drive excessive work and memory use. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.3. | |||||
| CVE-2026-22691 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.6.0, pypdf has possible long runtimes for malformed startxref. An attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to possibly long runtimes for invalid startxref entries. When rebuilding the cross-reference table, PDF files with lots of whitespace characters become problematic. Only the non-strict reading mode is affected. Only the non-strict reading mode is affected. This issue has been patched in version 6.6.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-48155 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.12.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to large memory usage. This requires extracting text in layout mode with large character offsets. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.12.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-27628 | 1 Py-pdf | 1 Pypdf | 2026-11-02 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.7.2, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires reading the file. This has been fixed in pypdf 6.7.2. As a workaround, one may apply the patch manually. | |||||
