CVE-2024-46764 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.3 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: add check for invalid name in btf_name_valid_section() If the length of the name string is 1 and the value of name[0] is NULL byte, an OOB vulnerability occurs in btf_name_valid_section() and the return value is true, so the invalid name passes the check. To solve this, you need to check if the first position is NULL byte and if the first character is printable.
CVE-2024-46763 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fou: Fix null-ptr-deref in GRO. We observed a null-ptr-deref in fou_gro_receive() while shutting down a host. [0] The NULL pointer is sk->sk_user_data, and the offset 8 is of protocol in struct fou. When fou_release() is called due to netns dismantle or explicit tunnel teardown, udp_tunnel_sock_release() sets NULL to sk->sk_user_data. Then, the tunnel socket is destroyed after a single RCU grace period. So, in-flight udp4_gro_receive() could find the socket and execute the FOU GRO handler, where sk->sk_user_data could be NULL. Let's use rcu_dereference_sk_user_data() in fou_from_sock() and add NULL checks in FOU GRO handlers. CVE-2024-46762 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen: privcmd: Fix possible access to a freed kirqfd instance Nothing prevents simultaneous ioctl calls to privcmd_irqfd_assign() and privcmd_irqfd_deassign(). If that happens, it is possible that a kirqfd created and added to the irqfds_list by privcmd_irqfd_assign() may get removed by another thread executing privcmd_irqfd_deassign(), while the former is still using it after dropping the locks. This can lead to a situation where an already freed kirqfd instance may be accessed and cause kernel oops. Use SRCU locking to prevent the same, as is done for the KVM implementation for irqfds.
CVE-2024-46755 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 8.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mwifiex: Do not return unused priv in mwifiex_get_priv_by_id() mwifiex_get_priv_by_id() returns the priv pointer corresponding to the bss_num and bss_type, but without checking if the priv is actually currently in use. Unused priv pointers do not have a wiphy attached to them which can lead to NULL pointer dereferences further down the callstack. Fix this by returning only used priv pointers which have priv->bss_mode set to something else than NL80211_IFTYPE_UNSPECIFIED. CVE-2024-46750 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: Add missing bridge lock to pci_bus_lock() One of the true positives that the cfg_access_lock lockdep effort identified is this sequence: WARNING: CPU: 14 PID: 1 at drivers/pci/pci.c:4886 pci_bridge_secondary_bus_reset+0x5d/0x70 RIP: 0010:pci_bridge_secondary_bus_reset+0x5d/0x70 Call Trace: <TASK> ? __warn+0x8c/0x190 ? pci_bridge_secondary_bus_reset+0x5d/0x70 ? report_bug+0x1f8/0x200 ? handle_bug+0x3c/0x70 ? exc_invalid_op+0x18/0x70 ? asm_exc_invalid_op+0x1a/0x20 ? pci_bridge_secondary_bus_reset+0x5d/0x70 pci_reset_bus+0x1d8/0x270 vmd_probe+0x778/0xa10 pci_device_probe+0x95/0x120 Where pci_reset_bus() users are triggering unlocked secondary bus resets. Ironically pci_bus_reset(), several calls down from pci_reset_bus(), uses pci_bus_lock() before issuing the reset which locks everything *but* the bridge itself. For the same motivation as adding: bridge = pci_upstream_bridge(dev); if (bridge) pci_dev_lock(bridge); to pci_reset_function() for the "bus" and "cxl_bus" reset cases, add pci_dev_lock() for @bus->self to pci_bus_lock(). CVE-2024-46738 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: VMCI: Fix use-after-free when removing resource in vmci_resource_remove() When removing a resource from vmci_resource_table in vmci_resource_remove(), the search is performed using the resource handle by comparing context and resource fields. It is possible though to create two resources with different types but same handle (same context and resource fields). When trying to remove one of the resources, vmci_resource_remove() may not remove the intended one, but the object will still be freed as in the case of the datagram type in vmci_datagram_destroy_handle(). vmci_resource_table will still hold a pointer to this freed resource leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix double put of @cfile in smb2_rename_path() If smb2_set_path_attr() is called with a valid @cfile and returned -EINVAL, we need to call cifs_get_writable_path() again as the reference of @cfile was already dropped by previous smb2_compound_op() call.
CVE-2024-46734 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix race between direct IO write and fsync when using same fd If we have 2 threads that are using the same file descriptor and one of them is doing direct IO writes while the other is doing fsync, we have a race where we can end up either: 1) Attempt a fsync without holding the inode's lock, triggering an assertion failures when assertions are enabled; 2) Do an invalid memory access from the fsync task because the file private points to memory allocated on stack by the direct IO task and it may be used by the fsync task after the stack was destroyed. The race happens like this: 1) A user space program opens a file descriptor with O_DIRECT; 2) The program spawns 2 threads using libpthread for example; 3) One of the threads uses the file descriptor to do direct IO writes, while the other calls fsync using the same file descriptor. 4) Call task A the thread doing direct IO writes and task B the thread doing fsyncs; 5) Task A does a direct IO write, and at btrfs_direct_write() sets the file's private to an on stack allocated private with the member 'fsync_skip_inode_lock' set to true; 6) Task B enters btrfs_sync_file() and sees that there's a private structure associated to the file which has 'fsync_skip_inode_lock' set to true, so it skips locking the inode's VFS lock; 7) Task A completes the direct IO write, and resets the file's private to NULL since it had no prior private and our private was stack allocated. Then it unlocks the inode's VFS lock; 8) Task B enters btrfs_get_ordered_extents_for_logging(), then the assertion that checks the inode's VFS lock is held fails, since task B never locked it and task A has already unlocked it. The stack trace produced is the following: assertion failed: inode_is_locked(&inode->vfs_inode), in fs/btrfs/ordered-data.c:983 ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/ordered-data.c:983! CVE-2024-46730 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Ensure array index tg_inst won't be -1 [WHY & HOW] tg_inst will be a negative if timing_generator_count equals 0, which should be checked before used. This fixes 2 OVERRUN issues reported by Coverity.
CVE-2024-46725 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Fix out-of-bounds write warning Check the ring type value to fix the out-of-bounds write warning
CVE-2024-46717 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/mlx5e: SHAMPO, Fix incorrect page release Under the following conditions: 1) No skb created yet 2) header_size == 0 (no SHAMPO header) 3) header_index + 1 % MLX5E_SHAMPO_WQ_HEADER_PER_PAGE == 0 (this is the last page fragment of a SHAMPO header page) a new skb is formed with a page that is NOT a SHAMPO header page (it is a regular data page). Further down in the same function (mlx5e_handle_rx_cqe_mpwrq_shampo()), a SHAMPO header page from header_index is released. This is wrong and it leads to SHAMPO header pages being released more than once.
CVE-2024-46716 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: altera-msgdma: properly free descriptor in msgdma_free_descriptor Remove list_del call in msgdma_chan_desc_cleanup, this should be the role of msgdma_free_descriptor. In consequence replace list_add_tail with list_move_tail in msgdma_free_descriptor. This fixes the path: msgdma_free_chan_resources -> msgdma_free_descriptors -> msgdma_free_desc_list -> msgdma_free_descriptor which does not correctly free the descriptors as first nodes were not removed from the list.
CVE-2024-46713 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/aux: Fix AUX buffer serialization Ole reported that event->mmap_mutex is strictly insufficient to serialize the AUX buffer, add a per RB mutex to fully serialize it. Note that in the lock order comment the perf_event::mmap_mutex order was already wrong, that is, it nesting under mmap_lock is not new with this patch.
CVE-2024-46710 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Prevent unmapping active read buffers The kms paths keep a persistent map active to read and compare the cursor buffer. These maps can race with each other in simple scenario where: a) buffer "a" mapped for update b) buffer "a" mapped for compare c) do the compare d) unmap "a" for compare e) update the cursor f) unmap "a" for update At step "e" the buffer has been unmapped and the read contents is bogus. Prevent unmapping of active read buffers by simply keeping a count of how many paths have currently active maps and unmap only when the count reaches 0.
CVE-2024-46709 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Fix prime with external buffers Make sure that for external buffers mapping goes through the dma_buf interface instead of trying to access pages directly. External buffers might not provide direct access to readable/writable pages so to make sure the bo's created from external dma_bufs can be read dma_buf interface has to be used. Fixes crashes in IGT's kms_prime with vgem. Regular desktop usage won't trigger this due to the fact that virtual machines will not have multiple GPUs but it enables better test coverage in IGT.
CVE-2024-46705 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: reset mmio mappings with devm Set our various mmio mappings to NULL. This should make it easier to catch something rogue trying to mess with mmio after device removal. For example, we might unmap everything and then start hitting some mmio address which has already been unmamped by us and then remapped by something else, causing all kinds of carnage.
