| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: set sk_state back to CLOSED if autobind fails in sctp_listen_start In sctp_listen_start() invoked by sctp_inet_listen(), it should set the sk_state back to CLOSED if sctp_autobind() fails due to whatever reason. Otherwise, next time when calling sctp_inet_listen(), if sctp_sk(sk)->reuse is already set via setsockopt(SCTP_REUSE_PORT), sctp_sk(sk)->bind_hash will be dereferenced as sk_state is LISTENING, which causes a crash as bind_hash is NULL. | CVE-2024-49938 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath9k_htc: Use __skb_set_length() for resetting urb before resubmit Syzbot points out that skb_trim() has a sanity check on the existing length of the skb, which can be uninitialised in some error paths. The intent here is clearly just to reset the length to zero before resubmitting, so switch to calling __skb_set_length(skb, 0) directly. In addition, __skb_set_length() already contains a call to skb_reset_tail_pointer(), so remove the redundant call. The syzbot report came from ath9k_hif_usb_reg_in_cb(), but there's a similar usage of skb_trim() in ath9k_hif_usb_rx_cb(), change both while we're at it. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix array out-of-bound access in SoC stats Currently, the ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error array is defined with a maximum size of DP_REO_DST_RING_MAX. However, the ath11k_dp_process_rx() function access ath11k_soc_dp_stats::hal_reo_error using the REO destination SRNG ring ID, which is incorrect. SRNG ring ID differ from normal ring ID, and this usage leads to out-of-bounds array access. To fix this issue, modify ath11k_dp_process_rx() to use the normal ring ID directly instead of the SRNG ring ID to avoid out-of-bounds array access. Similar to ext4_split_extent_at(), we use *ppath directly as an input to ext4_ext_show_leaf(). Fix a spelling error by the way. Same problem in ext4_ext_handle_unwritten_extents(). Since 'path' is only used in ext4_ext_show_leaf(), remove 'path' and use *ppath directly. This issue is triggered only when EXT_DEBUG is defined and therefore does not affect functionality. | |||||

So when trying to zeroout or fix the extent length, call ext4_find_extent() to update the path. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: update orig_path in ext4_find_extent() In ext4_find_extent(), if the path is not big enough, we free it and set *orig_path to NULL. But after reallocating and successfully initializing the path, we don't update *orig_path, in which case the caller gets a valid path but a NULL ppath, and this may cause a NULL pointer dereference or a path memory leak. For example: ext4_split_extent path = *ppath = 2000 ext4_find_extent if (depth > path[0].p_maxdepth) kfree(path = 2000); *orig_path = path = NULL; path = kcalloc() = 3000 ext4_split_extent_at(*ppath = NULL) path = *ppath; ex = path[depth].p_ext; // NULL pointer dereference! ================================================================== BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000010 CPU: 6 UID: 0 PID: 576 Comm: fsstress Not tainted 6.11.0-rc2-dirty #847 RIP: 0010:ext4_split_extent_at+0x6d/0x560 Call Trace: <TASK> ext4_split_extent.isra.0+0xcb/0x1b0 ext4_ext_convert_to_initialized+0x168/0x6c0 ext4_ext_handle_unwritten_extents+0x325/0x4d0 ext4_ext_map_blocks+0x520/0xdb0 ext4_map_blocks+0x2b0/0x690 ext4_iomap_begin+0x20e/0x2c0 [...] ================================================================== Therefore, *orig_path is updated when the extent lookup succeeds, so that the caller can safely use path or *ppath. | |||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bcache: revert replacing IS_ERR_OR_NULL with IS_ERR again Commit 028ddcac477b ("bcache: Remove unnecessary NULL point check in node allocations") leads a NULL pointer deference in cache_set_flush(). 1721 if (!IS_ERR_OR_NULL(c->root)) 1722 list_add(&c->root->list, &c->btree_cache); >From the above code in cache_set_flush(), if previous registration code fails before allocating c->root, it is possible c->root is NULL as what it is initialized. __bch_btree_node_alloc() never returns NULL but c->root is possible to be NULL at above line 1721. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dlm: fix possible lkb_resource null dereference This patch fixes a possible null pointer dereference when this function is called from request_lock() as lkb->lkb_resource is not assigned yet, only after validate_lock_args() by calling attach_lkb(). Another issue is that a resource name could be a non printable bytearray and we cannot assume to be ASCII coded. The log functionality is probably never being hit when DLM is used in normal way and no debug logging is enabled. The null pointer dereference can only occur on a new created lkb that does not have the resource assigned yet, it probably never hits the null pointer dereference but we should be sure that other changes might not change this behaviour and we actually can hit the mentioned null pointer dereference. In this patch we just drop the printout of the resource name, the lkb id is enough to make a possible connection to a resource name if this exists. | |||||

| CVE-2024-47736 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: handle overlapped pclusters out of crafted images properly syzbot reported a task hang issue due to a deadlock case where it is waiting for the folio lock of a cached folio that will be used for cache I/Os. After looking into the crafted fuzzed image, I found it's formed with several overlapped big pclusters as below: Ext: logical offset | length : physical offset | length 0: 0.. 16384 | 16384 : 151552.. 167936 | 16384 1: 16384.. 32768 | 16384 : 155648.. 172032 | 16384 2: 32768.. 49152 | 16384 : 537223168.. 537239552 | 16384 ... Here, extent 0/1 are physically overlapped although it's entirely _impossible_ for normal filesystem images generated by mkfs. First, managed folios containing compressed data will be marked as up-to-date and then unlocked immediately (unlike in-place folios) when compressed I/Os are complete. If physical blocks are not submitted in the incremental order, there should be separate BIOs to avoid dependency issues. However, the current code mis-arranges z_erofs_fill_bio_vec() and BIO submission which causes unexpected BIO waits. Second, managed folios will be connected to their own pclusters for efficient inter-queries. However, this is somewhat hard to implement easily if overlapped big pclusters exist. Again, these only appear in fuzzed images so let's simply fall back to temporary short-lived pages for correctness. Additionally, it justifies that referenced managed folios cannot be truncated for now and reverts part of commit 2080ca1ed3e4 ("erofs: tidy up `struct z_erofs_bvec`") for simplicity although it shouldn't be any difference. | |||||
