CVE-2024-44963 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: do not BUG_ON() when freeing tree block after error When freeing a tree block, at btrfs_free_tree_block(), if we fail to create a delayed reference we don't deal with the error and just do a BUG_ON(). The error most likely to happen is -ENOMEM, and we have a comment mentioning that only -ENOMEM can happen, but that is not true, because in case qgroups are enabled any error returned from btrfs_qgroup_trace_extent_post() (can be -EUCLEAN or anything returned from btrfs_search_slot() for example) can be propagated back to btrfs_free_tree_block(). So stop doing a BUG_ON() and return the error to the callers and make them abort the transaction to prevent leaking space. Syzbot was triggering this, likely due to memory allocation failure injection.
CVE-2024-44962 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Shutdown timer and prevent rearming when driver unloading When unload the btnxpuart driver, its associated timer will be deleted. If the timer happens to be modified at this moment, it leads to the kernel call this timer even after the driver unloaded, resulting in kernel panic. Use timer_shutdown_sync() instead of del_timer_sync() to prevent rearming. panic log: Internal error: Oops: 0000000086000007 [#1] PREEMPT SMP Modules linked in: algif_hash algif_skcipher af_alg moal(O) mlan(O) crct10dif_ce polyval_ce polyval_generic snd_soc_imx_card snd_soc_fsl_asoc_card snd_soc_imx_audmux mxc_jpeg_encdec v4l2_jpeg snd_soc_wm8962 snd_soc_fsl_micfil snd_soc_fsl_sai flexcan snd_soc_fsl_utils ap130x rpmsg_ctrl imx_pcm_dma can_dev rpmsg_char pwm_fan fuse [last unloaded: btnxpuart] CPU: 5 PID: 723 Comm: memtester Tainted: G O 6.6.23-lts-next-06207-g4aef2658ac28 #1 Hardware name: NXP i.MX95 19X19 board (DT) pstate: 20400009 (nzCv daif +PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) pc : 0xffff80007a2cf464 lr : call_timer_fn.isra.0+0x24/0x80 ... CVE-2024-44961 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Forward soft recovery errors to userspace As we discussed before[1], soft recovery should be forwarded to userspace, or we can get into a really bad state where apps will keep submitting hanging command buffers cascading us to a hard reset. 1: https://lore.kernel.org/all/bf23d5ed-9a6b-43e7-84ee-8cbfd0d60f18@froggi.es/ (cherry picked from commit 434967aadbbbe3ad9103cc29e9a327de20fdba01)
CVE-2024-44958 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/smt: Fix unbalance sched_smt_present dec/inc I got the following warn report while doing stress test: jump label: negative count! WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 38 at kernel/jump_label.c:263 static_key_slow_try_dec+0x9d/0xb0 Call Trace: <TASK> __static_key_slow_dec_cpuslocked+0x16/0x70 sched_cpu_deactivate+0x26e/0x2a0 cpuhp_invoke_callback+0x3ad/0x10d0 cpuhp_thread_fun+0x3f5/0x680 smpboot_thread_fn+0x56d/0x8d0 kthread+0x309/0x400 ret_from_fork+0x41/0x70 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1b/0x30 </TASK> Because when cpuset_cpu_inactive() fails in sched_cpu_deactivate(), the cpu offline failed, but sched_smt_present is decremented before calling sched_cpu_deactivate(), it leads to unbalanced dec/inc, so fix it by incrementing sched_smt_present in the error path.
CVE-2024-44948 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mtrr: Check if fixed MTRRs exist before saving them MTRRs have an obsolete fixed variant for fine grained caching control of the 640K-1MB region that uses separate MSRs. This fixed variant has a separate capability bit in the MTRR capability MSR. So far all x86 CPUs which support MTRR have this separate bit set, so it went unnoticed that mtrr_save_state() does not check the capability bit before accessing the fixed MTRR MSRs. Though on a CPU that does not support the fixed MTRR capability this results in a #GP. The #GP itself is harmless because the RDMSR fault is handled gracefully, but results in a WARN_ON(). Add the missing capability check to prevent this.
CVE-2024-44943 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: gup: stop abusing try_grab_folio A kernel warning was reported when pinning folio in CMA memory when launching SEV virtual machine. The splat looks like: [ 464.325306] WARNING: CPU: 13 PID: 6734 at mm/gup.c:1313 __get_user_pages+0x423/0x520 [ 464.325464] CPU: 13 PID: 6734 Comm: qemu-kvm Kdump: loaded Not tainted 6.6.33+ #6 [ 464.325477] RIP: 0010:__get_user_pages+0x423/0x520 [ 464.325515] Call Trace: [ 464.325520] <TASK> [ 464.325523] ? __get_user_pages+0x423/0x520 [ 464.325528] ? __warn+0x81/0x130 [ 464.325536] ? __get_user_pages+0x423/0x520 [ 464.325541] ? report_bug+0x171/0x1a0 [ 464.325549] ? handle_bug+0x3c/0x70 [ 464.325554] ? exc_invalid_op+0x17/0x70 [ 464.325558] ? asm_exc_invalid_op+0x1a/0x20 [ 464.325567] ? __get_user_pages+0x423/0x520 [ 464.325575] __gup_longterm_locked+0x212/0x7a0 [ 464.325583] internal_get_user_pages_fast+0xfb/0x190 [ 464.325590] pin_user_pages_fast+0x47/0x60 [ 464.325598] sev_pin_memory+0xca/0x170 [kvm_amd] [ 464.325616] sev_mem_enc_register_region+0x81/0x130 [kvm_amd] Per the analysis done by yangge, when starting the SEV virtual machine, it will call pin_user_pages_fast(..., FOLL_LONGTERM, ...) to pin the memory. But the page is in CMA area, so fast GUP will fail then fallback to the slow path due to the longterm pinnalbe check in try_grab_folio(). The slow path will try to pin the pages then migrate them out of CMA area. But the slow path also uses try_grab_folio() to pin the page, it will also fail due to the same check then the above warning is triggered. In addition, the try_grab_folio() is supposed to be used in fast path and it elevates folio refcount by using add ref unless zero. We are guaranteed to have at least one stable reference in slow path, so the simple atomic add could be used. The performance difference should be trivial, but the misuse may be confusing and misleading. Redefined try_grab_folio() to try_grab_folio_fast(), and try_grab_page() to try_grab_folio(), and use them in the proper paths. This solves both the abuse and the kernel warning. The proper naming makes their usecase more clear and should prevent from abusing in the future. peterx said: : The user will see the pin fails, for gpu-slow it further triggers the WARN : right below that failure (as in the original report): : : folio = try_grab_folio(page, page_increm - 1, : foll_flags); : if (WARN_ON_ONCE(!folio)) { <------------------------ here : /* : * Release the 1st page ref if the : * folio is problematic, fail hard. : */ : gup_put_folio(page_folio(page), 1, : foll_flags); : ret = -EFAULT; : goto out; : } [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-mm/1719478388-31917-1-git-send-email-yangge1116@126.com/ [shy828301@gmail.com: fix implicit declaration of function try_grab_folio_fast]
CVE-2024-44936 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: power: supply: rt5033: Bring back i2c_set_clientdata Commit 3a93da231c12 ("power: supply: rt5033: Use devm_power_supply_register() helper") reworked the driver to use devm. While at it, the i2c_set_clientdata was dropped along with the remove callback. Unfortunately other parts of the driver also rely on i2c clientdata so this causes kernel oops. Bring the call back to fix the driver.
CVE-2024-44931 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: prevent potential speculation leaks in gpio_device_get_desc() Userspace may trigger a speculative read of an address outside the gpio descriptor array. Users can do that by calling gpio_ioctl() with an offset out of range. Offset is copied from user and then used as an array index to get the gpio descriptor without sanitization in gpio_device_get_desc(). This change ensures that the offset is sanitized by using array_index_nospec() to mitigate any possibility of speculative information leaks. This bug was discovered and resolved using Coverity Static Analysis Security Testing (SAST) by Synopsys, Inc.
