CVE-2026-90457 2026-09-14 N/A N/A
The administrative password is hashed using a comparatively weak, fast algorithm for the credential store backing one authentication path, and the file containing that hash is written with permissions allowing it to be read by any local user. This is inconsistent with a separate, stronger hashing algorithm used for the same password on another authentication path. A party able to read this file, including a local user or a party with access to a configuration backup, could feasibly recover the underlying password through offline computation, compromising the administrative credential across every path that accepts it.
CVE-2026-74871 1 Jahlives 1 Openssl Encrypt 2026-09-10 N/A 6.2 MEDIUM
openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.6 contain a key derivation flaw in sequential XOR composition mode where the last stage cancels out during key generation. When configured with a single KDF and no prior hashing stage, attackers can bypass memory-hard key derivation and perform offline password cracking at SHA-256 speed instead of the configured KDF cost.
CVE-2026-86670 2026-09-08 2.6 LOW 3.7 LOW
A flaw has been found in aircheng-org iWebShop-5 up to 5.15. This impacts an unknown function of the file controllers/admin.php of the component Authentication Storage. Executing a manipulation of the argument Password can lead to password hash with insufficient computational effort. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. A high complexity level is associated with this attack. The exploitability is said to be difficult. The exploit has been published and may be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
CVE-2026-81704 1 Jahlives 1 Openssl Encrypt 2026-09-03 N/A 7.5 HIGH
openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 contain a weak key derivation vulnerability in the D-Bus CryptoService.EncryptFile handler that uses unstretched SHA-256 instead of Argon2id. Attackers can perform offline password guessing against encrypted files roughly six to seven orders of magnitude faster than documented protection by exploiting the missing key stretching and hash rounds.
CVE-2026-81689 1 Jahlives 1 Openssl Encrypt 2026-09-03 N/A 7.5 HIGH
openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 derive the remote-pepper wrap key using unsalted HKDF-SHA256 or bare SHA-256 of the password, allowing identical keys across all users and files. Attackers with access to wrapped pepper blobs can precompute a single dictionary table and perform fleet-wide offline password guessing at hardware speed to recover user passwords.
CVE-2026-80211 2026-08-29 N/A 5.9 MEDIUM
FrontAccounting through 2.4.20 stores and verifies user passwords as unsalted MD5 digests. admin/users.php passes md5($_POST['password']) to add_user() and update_user_password(), admin/change_current_user_password.php does the same when a user changes their own password, the forgotten-password path in includes/current_user.inc hashes the newly generated password the same way, and authentication calls get_user_auth($loginname, md5($password)). The codebase applies no per-password salt and contains no call to password_hash(), password_verify() or any other adaptive hash, so identical passwords yield identical digests and an attacker who obtains the user table can recover plaintext passwords with precomputed lookup tables or high-rate GPU cracking.
CVE-2026-75112 2026-08-28 N/A N/A
A security issue exists within OTTO® Fleet Manager. The vulnerability stems from the use of an insufficient work factor in the bcrypt password hashing implementation, which could reduce the computational cost required for an attacker to perform offline brute-force attacks against stored password hashes. If an attacker gains access to an unencrypted system backup, the weakly hashed credentials could be more easily compromised.
CVE-2026-53762 2026-08-26 N/A 6.2 MEDIUM
VeraCrypt provides disk encryption with strong security based on TrueCrypt. Prior to 1.26.29, non-default builds created with WOLFCRYPT=1 and WOLFCRYPT_BACKEND route SHA-256 and SHA-512 volume-header key derivation through derive_key_sha256 and derive_key_sha512 in src/Crypto/wolfCrypt.c, where the configured iterations value is discarded and wc_HKDF is used instead of PBKDF2-HMAC. Changing the PIM or iteration count therefore does not increase derivation cost, allowing an attacker with an affected container, disk image, or volume header to perform substantially cheaper offline password guesses. Official precompiled VeraCrypt binaries and normal distribution packages use the standard PBKDF2 backend and are not affected. Volumes created by an affected WOLFCRYPT=1 build require backup and recreation because corrected builds derive different keys. This issue is fixed in version 1.26.29.
CVE-2026-49005 2026-08-26 N/A 2.4 LOW
The root password hash of the device can be obtained through unencrypted information in the firmware.
CVE-2026-5040 1 Tp-link 2 Deco M5, Deco M5 Firmware 2026-08-06 N/A 6.7 MEDIUM
TP-Link Deco M5 v1 uses a weak password hashing mechanism to store user credentials. An attacker who obtains the password hash through system compromise or privileged access could perform brute-force or dictionary attacks. Successful exploitation may result in disclosure of authentication credentials, enabling unauthorized access to device management functions, depending on the privileges associated with the recovered password. The primary security impact is loss of confidentiality.
CVE-2026-57310 2026-07-22 N/A N/A
Windu CMS uses hashing algorithm based on MD5 and SHA1 with static salt to store user passwords. This allows an attacker who obtain password hash to decode user credentials. Because vendor contact attempts were unsuccessful, the vulnerability has only been confirmed in version 4.1 but may also affect other versions.
CVE-2026-25861 2026-07-22 N/A 5.9 MEDIUM
QloApps through 1.7.0, fixed in commit 64e9722, contains a weak cryptographic algorithm vulnerability that allows attackers to compromise user credentials by exploiting the use of MD5 for password hashing in the Tools::encrypt() function within classes/Tools.php, which concatenates a static cookie key with the supplied password. Attackers can perform offline brute-force attacks against the MD5 hashes, with the risk compounded by auto-generated 8-character passwords assigned during guest-to-customer account conversion in classes/Customer.php, making credential recovery trivial.
CVE-2026-44611 1 Macgregor 2 Interschalt Vdr G4e, Interschalt Vdr G4e Firmware 2026-07-22 N/A 5.4 MEDIUM
Danelec MacGregor Voyage Data Recorder passwords are stored with a hashing method which limits password length and is susceptible to brute force attacks.
CVE-2023-0567 1 Php 1 Php 2026-07-19 N/A 7.7 HIGH
In PHP 8.0.X before 8.0.28, 8.1.X before 8.1.16 and 8.2.X before 8.2.3, password_verify() function may accept some invalid Blowfish hashes as valid. If such invalid hash ever ends up in the password database, it may lead to an application allowing any password for this entry as valid.
CVE-2022-23348 1 Bigantsoft 1 Bigant Server 2026-07-09 5.0 MEDIUM 5.3 MEDIUM
BigAnt Software BigAnt Server v5.6.06 was discovered to utilize weak password hashes.
CVE-2020-28873 1 Fluxbb 1 Fluxbb 2026-07-09 7.8 HIGH 7.5 HIGH
Fluxbb 1.5.11 is affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability by sending an extremely long password via the user login form. When a long password is sent, the password hashing process will result in CPU and memory exhaustion on the server.
CVE-2026-55069 1 Kestra 1 Kestra 2026-07-01 N/A 8.7 HIGH
Kestra is an open-source, event-driven orchestration platform. Prior to 1.3.24, this vulnerability exists in the BasicAuth authentication component of the Kestra OSS workflow orchestration platform. An attacker who gains read access to the PostgreSQL database can exploit SHA-512's high computation speed to recover the administrator password offline. In Kubernetes deployments, a successful crack further enables reading of the cluster ServiceAccount Token and all K8s Secrets, achieving vertical privilege escalation. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.24.
CVE-2026-40522 2026-06-29 N/A 7.1 HIGH
FrontAccounting before 2.4.20 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the Bank Statement report handler that allows authenticated attackers to extract arbitrary database data by injecting UNION SELECT payloads into the PARAM_0 POST parameter. Attackers can supply malicious SQL syntax through the unparameterized WHERE clause to retrieve sensitive information including usernames, password hashes, and email addresses from the users table, rendered into PDF report output.
CVE-2026-56272 1 Flowiseai 1 Flowise 2026-06-26 N/A 4.1 MEDIUM
Flowise before 3.0.13 uses bcrypt with default salt rounds of 5, providing only 32 iterations instead of the OWASP-recommended minimum of 10 rounds. Attackers can crack password hashes approximately 30 times faster with modern GPU hardware, potentially compromising all user accounts in a database breach scenario.
CVE-2023-46233 1 Crypto-js Project 1 Crypto-js 2026-06-23 N/A 9.1 CRITICAL
crypto-js is a JavaScript library of crypto standards. Prior to version 4.2.0, crypto-js PBKDF2 is 1,000 times weaker than originally specified in 1993, and at least 1,300,000 times weaker than current industry standard. This is because it both defaults to SHA1, a cryptographic hash algorithm considered insecure since at least 2005, and defaults to one single iteration, a 'strength' or 'difficulty' value specified at 1,000 when specified in 1993. PBKDF2 relies on iteration count as a countermeasure to preimage and collision attacks. If used to protect passwords, the impact is high. If used to generate signatures, the impact is high. Version 4.2.0 contains a patch for this issue. As a workaround, configure crypto-js to use SHA256 with at least 250,000 iterations.
