AIL Framework contained a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in the /tag/add_tags endpoint. When an error occurred while processing a tag operation, the application returned the error value directly as an HTML response using str(res[0]). If attacker-controlled input was included in the generated error message, a crafted request could cause arbitrary HTML or JavaScript to be reflected in the response without appropriate output encoding. An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by convincing an authenticated AIL Framework user to open a specially crafted link. Successful exploitation could allow JavaScript to execute in the victim’s browser within the security context of the AIL Framework application. Depending on the victim’s privileges and the application’s protections, the attacker could perform actions using the victim’s session, access information available to the victim, or modify data through authenticated application requests. The vulnerability requires user interaction because the authenticated victim must follow or open the crafted request. The attacker does not necessarily require an AIL Framework account, provided that the crafted request can be delivered to an already authenticated user.

AIL Framework contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the crawler domain view. Crawled URLs were embedded directly into the JavaScript onclick handler used to display a stored screenshot, without context-appropriate encoding. An attacker who can cause a specially crafted URL to be recorded in the crawler history can inject JavaScript syntax into the stored URL value. The payload remains stored by AIL and is subsequently included in the domain view. When an authenticated analyst clicks the screenshot icon associated with the malicious URL, the injected JavaScript executes in the analyst’s browser within the security context of the AIL Framework application. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to access information available to the analyst’s session, modify displayed content, or perform application actions using the analyst’s privileges. Exploitation requires the victim to interact with the affected screenshot entry. The vulnerability was corrected by serializing the crawled URL with Jinja’s tojson filter before inserting it into the JavaScript handler. This safely escapes characters that could otherwise terminate the JavaScript string and introduce executable code.

Affected versions of cti-transmute allow a tag's icon value to be stored and later interpolated into HTML through Vue's v-html. The helper mapIcon() previously constructed an HTML string directly from the icon value: <i class="fas fa-${name}"></i> Because the icon is user-supplied, a crafted value could break out of the intended markup and inject attacker-controlled HTML. When the affected tag was later rendered, including on the administrative triage interface, the payload could execute in the viewer's browser. The patch mitigates the issue at multiple layers: v-html is replaced with Vue :class binding, mapIcon() now returns only a constrained FontAwesome class string, and the backend validates icons against the FontAwesome catalogue or a strict [a-z0-9-]{1,40} slug pattern before storing them.

A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability existed in Vulnerability-Lookup in the render_tag_badges Jinja filter used to display reference tags associated with vulnerability records. Values from containers.cna.references[].tags[] were directly interpolated into HTML badge elements and the resulting string was wrapped in markupsafe.Markup. Because Markup marks the generated content as safe, Jinja's automatic HTML escaping was bypassed. An authenticated user with permissions to create or modify vulnerability records, such as a user holding the vulnerability:create or vulnerability:modify permission, could submit a crafted reference tag through the CNA API containing arbitrary HTML or JavaScript-capable markup. The malicious value would subsequently be stored as part of the vulnerability record. When another user visited the corresponding public /cve/<id> or /vuln/<id> page, the crafted tag would be rendered as HTML in the viewer's browser. This could result in JavaScript execution in the security context of the Vulnerability-Lookup application. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to perform actions in the context of a victim, access information available to the victim's browser session, or modify page content. As the affected vulnerability pages can be accessed publicly, exploitation may affect users who are not authenticated. The issue was corrected by applying markupsafe.escape() to each reference tag before inserting it into the HTML badge markup, while retaining Markup only for the static HTML scaffolding.

FlowIntel is affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability through multiple user-controlled or administrator-controlled fields. Persisted values—including case titles, ticket identifiers, recurring-case information, user profile attributes, organisation names, and role names—were rendered inside DOM elements subsequently compiled by Vue. Although normal HTML escaping could neutralize direct HTML markup, it did not prevent an attacker from injecting Vue interpolation expressions using the configured [[ ... ]] delimiters. An authenticated attacker able to modify one of the affected fields could store a malicious Vue expression. When another user viewed an affected case, report, profile, recurring-case page, or navigation component, Vue could evaluate the injected expression in the context of the FlowIntel application. Successful exploitation could allow arbitrary JavaScript execution in the victim’s browser under the FlowIntel origin. This could expose information available to the victim, perform actions using the victim’s authenticated session, or modify application data within the victim’s privileges. The patch introduces a dedicated vue_escape filter that escapes HTML-sensitive characters and breaks Vue interpolation delimiters before the values are rendered. The filter is applied to the affected case, account, organisation, role, configuration, and navigation fields.

RansomLook contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the cryptocurrency wallet detail view. Cryptocurrency addresses and blockchain names originating from external sources, including the public crowd-sourced ransomwhe.re feed, were stored without sufficient validation and later embedded directly into an inline JavaScript onclick handler. Although Jinja HTML autoescaping was applied, it does not provide adequate protection when untrusted data is inserted into a JavaScript string inside an HTML attribute. HTML entities such as &#39; are decoded by the browser's HTML parser before the resulting attribute is interpreted as JavaScript. Consequently, a specially crafted cryptocurrency address containing quote characters and JavaScript syntax could escape the intended string literal and execute arbitrary JavaScript when a user clicked the affected wallet's CSV export button. Because cryptocurrency information imported from an untrusted upstream could reach the vulnerable rendering path, exploitation may not require an authenticated RansomLook account if an attacker can introduce a malicious wallet record into a consumed external data source. Successful exploitation could allow attacker-controlled JavaScript to execute in the security context of the RansomLook web application, potentially exposing information accessible to the victim or performing actions with the victim's privileges. The patch mitigates the issue by validating cryptocurrency addresses and blockchain identifiers before storage, restricting them to a safe character set, and replacing the inline JavaScript handler with data-* attributes and an external event listener so wallet values are treated strictly as data rather than executable JavaScript.

Affected versions of cti-transmute insufficiently validate saved graph configuration data. Graph configurations can contain style properties that are later consumed by Pivotick, and Pivotick interprets svgIcon as HTML. Because saved configurations may be created by one user and later displayed to other users—including administrators—a malicious user could store a crafted svgIcon value that executes script in another viewer’s browser. The fix introduces a strict configuration schema on both the server and client. Only known properties are accepted, style entries are limited to shape, color, and size, and dangerous properties such as svgIcon and iconClass are explicitly rejected. Existing stored configurations are also sanitized when listed and again before being applied in the browser.

Affected versions of cti-transmute fail to HTML-escape attacker-controlled values used in ECharts Sunburst and Treemap tooltip formatters. Slice names may originate directly from STIX or MISP data, including STIX types, relationship_type, pattern prefixes, and MISP category/type values. Since ECharts interprets the formatter return value as HTML, crafted values can inject markup or script-capable content into the tooltip. An attacker who can cause malicious conversion data to be processed can therefore inject content that executes when another user views the visualization and hovers over the affected slice. The patch replaces direct interpolation with dedicated formatter functions that call escapeHtml() on p.name, p.data.value, and p.value.

CTI-Transmute contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability caused by insufficient neutralization of Vue template expression delimiters in server-rendered user-controlled data. An unauthenticated attacker can create a public conversion whose name or description contains a malicious Vue expression using the application's configured [[ ... ]] delimiters. User profile names may provide an additional injection vector. Although Jinja HTML escaping is applied, the resulting value is subsequently included in a DOM region compiled by Vue. Vue interprets the attacker-controlled value as a template expression rather than ordinary text. By accessing the JavaScript Function constructor from within the expression, an attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the security context of the CTI-Transmute origin. The application's nonce-based Content Security Policy does not prevent exploitation because the Vue runtime compiler requires the unsafe-eval policy exception. The malicious payload is stored by the application and executed whenever another user opens an affected page, such as the public conversion detail page. The victim may be a normal user or an administrator. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to: * Access data available to the victim through the application. * Extract API keys, tokens, or other sensitive information exposed to the page. * Perform authenticated actions using the victim's session. * Modify conversions or other application data. * Escalate the impact by targeting an administrator. A demonstrated payload can use [].constructor.constructor(...) to obtain the JavaScript Function constructor and execute arbitrary code. The regression tests also show that a short first-stage payload could retrieve an uncapped conversion description and evaluate a larger second-stage payload. The patch addresses the vulnerability by registering a global Jinja finalize hook that inserts a zero-width Unicode word joiner inside every Vue delimiter found in server-rendered values. This prevents Vue from recognizing the values as template expressions while preserving their visible representation.

CTI-Transmute is affected by a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the conversion graph used to visualise converted MISP and STIX content. Attacker-controlled values originating from converted CTI data were passed to multiple HTML-parsing sinks in the graph user interface without sufficient neutralisation. In particular, node labels, node sublabels, edge labels, node properties, edge properties, and node types could contain crafted HTML or JavaScript content. The Pivotick graph library renders some of these values through HTML-parsing operations. Consequently, a malicious value such as an HTML element containing an event handler could be interpreted as markup rather than displayed as plain text. The first remediation explicitly notes that Pivotick rendered node and edge labels as HTML and therefore introduced escaping before data was handed to the graph renderer. A separate vulnerable sink was present in the Open raw JSON functionality. The raw object associated with a graph node was inserted into a new document using document.write() and an interpolated HTML string. Crafted JSON content could therefore break out of the intended <pre> element and inject executable markup. The fix replaced this construction with DOM APIs and assigns the JSON using textContent. The initial correction did not cover all Pivotick rendering paths. A subsequent patch addressed additional XSS vectors in the graph properties panel. Values derived from the original CTI object—including property names, property values, hash algorithm names, child attributes, edge properties, and STIX object types—could still reach Pivotick's HTML resolver. According to the patch, Pivotick's tryResolveHTMLElement processes string values using template.innerHTML, allowing malicious markup to execute when a graph node is hovered over or selected. The complete remediation therefore: * HTML-escapes node labels, node sublabels, and edge labels before they are passed to Pivotick. * Restricts graph node type values to a safe identifier character set. * Wraps node and edge property values in DOM elements populated through textContent, preventing Pivotick from treating attacker-controlled strings as HTML. * Replaces the raw-JSON popup's interpolated document.write() with DOM construction and textContent.
