| CVE-2026-55480 | 1 Openprinting | 1 Cups | 2026-10-20 | N/A | 5.7 MEDIUM |
| OpenPrinting CUPS is an open source printing system for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems. Prior to 2.4.20, copy_model() in scheduler/ipp.c creates a predictable TempDir/<connection-number>.ppd path in an lp-group-writable directory and opens it as root without O_EXCL or O_NOFOLLOW. Exploitation requires an lp-group process able to write that directory to predict the connection-derived name and plant a symlink before the root open, while a privileged add-printer or modify-printer operation using a model PPD triggers copy_model(). The reporter treats an existing lp foothold and the privileged operation as distinct prerequisites, while the maintainer assesses high privileges because installing the relevant filter or administering the printer requires root or print-administrator access. If the race succeeds, the root scheduler follows the symlink and truncates or overwrites a root-writable target with generated PPD data, compromising file integrity or availability. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.20. | |||||
| CVE-2026-102204 | 2026-10-20 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH | ||

| CVE-2026-107810 | 1 Nginxui | 1 Nginx Ui | 2026-10-20 | N/A | 8.1 HIGH |
| Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. From 2.0.0 until 2.5.0, internal/backup/restore.go extracts inner archives before applying the restore_nginx and restore_nginx_ui flags and permits symlinks targeting the live Nginx configuration path. An authenticated user who can create and restore backups can craft a valid backup that places a symlink in the staging tree and then writes a regular file through that link, even when both restore flags are false. This can persistently inject configuration or cause denial of service when the modified files are later consumed. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-87766 | 2026-10-20 | N/A | 8.8 HIGH | ||
| A flaw was found in bubblewrap. During sandbox setup, creating files or directories under the new root can follow a parent symlink onto the host via /oldroot, writing attacker-chosen paths outside the sandbox as the launching user. This happens before the sandboxed process starts. This issue is GHSA-pxhw-h44j-8pfx. It is fixed in bubblewrap 0.12.0. | |||||
| CVE-2025-12838 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 7.3 HIGH | ||
| MSP360 Free Backup Link Following Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of MSP360 Free Backup. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. User interaction on the part of an administrator is needed additionally. The specific flaw exists within the restore functionality. By creating a junction, an attacker can abuse the service to create arbitrary files. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-27245. | |||||
| CVE-2026-111045 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH | ||
| CLI Bridge provides filesystem access within a workspace root. Prior to 0.0.2, a dangling symlink pointing outside the workspace root bypasses resolveSafePath when fs.realpathSync throws ENOENT for a nonexistent target. The fallback resolves only the parent directory and returns the symlink path as safe, so write_file follows the link and can write arbitrary files outside the workspace root. This issue is fixed in version 0.0.2. | |||||
| CVE-2026-112210 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 6.0 MEDIUM | ||
| A flaw was found in the rhc-canonical-facts.service systemd unit shipped with rhc. The service runs as root and operates on a file inside a directory owned by an unprivileged system user without verifying that the file is not a symbolic link. A local attacker who has already compromised the privileged yggdrasil system service account can exploit this to gain ownership of arbitrary files, leading to privilege escalation to root. | |||||
| CVE-2026-90954 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH | ||
| A flaw was found in BusyBox's dpkg-deb archive extraction. The ar archive handler flushes deferred symlinks after each archive member, unlike the tar, cpio, and unzip handlers which flush once after the last member. A specially crafted .deb archive with two data.tar members can exploit this ordering: the first member declares a symlink pointing to an absolute path (e.g., '/'), which is deferred as unsafe but flushed after the first member. The second member declares a regular file whose path traverses the now-live symlink, resulting in a file being written outside the intended extraction directory. This could allow an attacker to write arbitrary files to arbitrary locations when a user extracts a crafted .deb package. | |||||
| CVE-2025-24918 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 6.7 MEDIUM | ||
| Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') for some Intel(R) Server Configuration Utility software and Intel(R) Server Firmware Update Utility software before version 16.0.12. within Ring 3: User Applications may allow an escalation of privilege. System software adversary with an authenticated user combined with a high complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires active user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts. | |||||
| CVE-2025-41421 | 2026-10-18 | N/A | 4.7 MEDIUM | ||
| Improper handling of symbolic links in the TeamViewer Full Client and Host for Windows — in versions prior to 15.70 of TeamViewer Remote and Tensor — allows an attacker with local, unprivileged access to a device lacking adequate malware protection to escalate privileges by spoofing the update file path. This may result in unauthorized access to sensitive information. | |||||

| CVE-2025-34191 | 3 Apple, Linux, Vasion | 4 Macos, Linux Kernel, Virtual Appliance Application and 1 more | 2026-10-18 | N/A | 8.4 HIGH |
| Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host versions prior to 22.0.843 and Application prior to 20.0.1923 (macOS/Linux client deployments) contain an arbitrary file write vulnerability via the response file handling. When tasks produce output the service writes response data into files under /opt/PrinterInstallerClient/tmp/responses/ reusing the requested filename. The service follows symbolic links in the responses directory and writes as the service user (typically root), allowing a local, unprivileged user to cause the service to overwrite or create arbitrary files on the filesystem as root. This can be used to modify configuration files, replace or inject binaries or drivers, and otherwise achieve local privilege escalation and full system compromise. This vulnerability has been identified by the vendor as: V-2023-019 — Arbitrary File Write as Root. | |||||
| CVE-2025-59241 | 1 Microsoft | 2 Windows 11 24h2, Windows 11 25h2 | 2026-10-18 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
| Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Health and Optimized Experiences Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. | |||||
| CVE-2025-34194 | 2 Microsoft, Vasion | 3 Windows, Virtual Appliance Application, Virtual Appliance Host | 2026-10-18 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
| Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host versions prior to 25.1.102 and Application versions prior to 25.1.1413 (Windows client deployments) contain an insecure temporary-file handling vulnerability in the PrinterInstallerClient components. The software creates files as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM inside a directory under the control of the local user (C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Temp\). An attacker who can place symbolic links or otherwise influence filenames in that directory can cause the service to follow the link and write to arbitrary filesystem locations as SYSTEM. This allows a local, unprivileged user to overwrite or create files as SYSTEM, leading to local privilege escalation and the ability to modify configuration files, replace or inject binaries, or otherwise compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. This vulnerability has been confirmed to be remediated, but it is unclear as to when the patch was introduced. | |||||
| CVE-2025-43395 | 1 Apple | 1 Macos | 2026-10-18 | N/A | 3.3 LOW |
