CVE-2023-52999 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix UaF in netns ops registration error path If net_assign_generic() fails, the current error path in ops_init() tries to clear the gen pointer slot. Anyway, in such error path, the gen pointer itself has not been modified yet, and the existing and accessed one is smaller than the accessed index, causing an out-of-bounds error: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ops_init+0x2de/0x320 Write of size 8 at addr ffff888109124978 by task modprobe/1018 CPU: 2 PID: 1018 Comm: modprobe Not tainted 6.2.0-rc2.mptcp_ae5ac65fbed5+ #1641 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.1-2.fc37 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x6a/0x9f print_address_description.constprop.0+0x86/0x2b5 print_report+0x11b/0x1fb kasan_report+0x87/0xc0 ops_init+0x2de/0x320 register_pernet_operations+0x2e4/0x750 register_pernet_subsys+0x24/0x40 tcf_register_action+0x9f/0x560 do_one_initcall+0xf9/0x570 do_init_module+0x190/0x650 load_module+0x1fa5/0x23c0 __do_sys_finit_module+0x10d/0x1b0 do_syscall_64+0x58/0x80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x72/0xdc RIP: 0033:0x7f42518f778d Code: 00 c3 66 2e 0f 1f 84 00 00 00 00 00 90 f3 0f 1e fa 48 89 f8 48 89 f7 48 89 d6 48 89 ca 4d 89 c2 4d 89 c8 4c 8b 4c 24 08 0f 05 <48> 3d 01 f0 ff ff 73 01 c3 48 8b 0d cb 56 2c 00 f7 d8 64 89 01 48 RSP: 002b:00007fff96869688 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 0000000000000139 RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 00005568ef7f7c90 RCX: 00007f42518f778d RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 00005568ef41d796 RDI: 0000000000000003 RBP: 00005568ef41d796 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000003 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000000000000000 R13: 00005568ef7f7d30 R14: 0000000000040000 R15: 0000000000000000 </TASK> This change addresses the issue by skipping the gen pointer de-reference in the mentioned error-path. CVE-2023-52983 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block, bfq: fix uaf for bfqq in bic_set_bfqq() After commit 64dc8c732f5c ("block, bfq: fix possible uaf for 'bfqq->bic'"), bic->bfqq will be accessed in bic_set_bfqq(), however, in some context bic->bfqq will be freed, and bic_set_bfqq() is called with the freed bic->bfqq. Fix the problem by always freeing bfqq after bic_set_bfqq().

CVE-2023-52974 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: iscsi_tcp: Fix UAF during login when accessing the shost ipaddress If during iscsi_sw_tcp_session_create() iscsi_tcp_r2tpool_alloc() fails, userspace could be accessing the host's ipaddress attr. If we then free the session via iscsi_session_teardown() while userspace is still accessing the session we will hit a use after free bug. Set the tcp_sw_host->session after we have completed session creation and can no longer fail.
CVE-2023-52973 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vc_screen: move load of struct vc_data pointer in vcs_read() to avoid UAF After a call to console_unlock() in vcs_read() the vc_data struct can be freed by vc_deallocate(). Because of that, the struct vc_data pointer load must be done at the top of while loop in vcs_read() to avoid a UAF when vcs_size() is called. Syzkaller reported a UAF in vcs_size(). CVE-2023-52935 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/khugepaged: fix ->anon_vma race If an ->anon_vma is attached to the VMA, collapse_and_free_pmd() requires it to be locked. Page table traversal is allowed under any one of the mmap lock, the anon_vma lock (if the VMA is associated with an anon_vma), and the mapping lock (if the VMA is associated with a mapping); and so to be able to remove page tables, we must hold all three of them. retract_page_tables() bails out if an ->anon_vma is attached, but does this check before holding the mmap lock (as the comment above the check explains). If we racily merged an existing ->anon_vma (shared with a child process) from a neighboring VMA, subsequent rmap traversals on pages belonging to the child will be able to see the page tables that we are concurrently removing while assuming that nothing else can access them. Repeat the ->anon_vma check once we hold the mmap lock to ensure that there really is no concurrent page table access. Hitting this bug causes a lockdep warning in collapse_and_free_pmd(), in the line "lockdep_assert_held_write(&vma->anon_vma->root->rwsem)". It can also lead to use-after-free access.
CVE-2023-52931 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Avoid potential vm use-after-free Adding the vm to the vm_xa table makes it visible to userspace, which could try to race with us to close the vm. So we need to take our extra reference before putting it in the table. (cherry picked from commit 99343c46d4e2b34c285d3d5f68ff04274c2f9fb4)
CVE-2023-52926 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IORING_OP_READ did not correctly consume the provided buffer list when read i/o returned < 0 (except for -EAGAIN and -EIOCBQUEUED return). This can lead to a potential use-after-free when the completion via io_rw_done runs at separate context.

CVE-2023-52921 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: fix possible UAF in amdgpu_cs_pass1() Since the gang_size check is outside of chunk parsing loop, we need to reset i before we free the chunk data. Suggested by Ye Zhang (@VAR10CK) of Baidu Security.
CVE-2023-52859 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: hisi: Fix use-after-free when register pmu fails When we fail to register the uncore pmu, the pmu context may not been allocated. The error handing will call cpuhp_state_remove_instance() to call uncore pmu offline callback, which migrate the pmu context. Since that's liable to lead to some kind of use-after-free. Use cpuhp_state_remove_instance_nocalls() instead of cpuhp_state_remove_instance() so that the notifiers don't execute after the PMU device has been failed to register.
CVE-2023-52854 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: Fix refcnt handling in padata_free_shell() In a high-load arm64 environment, the pcrypt_aead01 test in LTP can lead to system UAF (Use-After-Free) issues. Due to the lengthy analysis of the pcrypt_aead01 function call, I'll describe the problem scenario using a simplified model: Suppose there's a user of padata named `user_function` that adheres to the padata requirement of calling `padata_free_shell` after `serial()` has been invoked, as demonstrated in the following code: ```c struct request { struct padata_priv padata; struct completion *done; }; void parallel(struct padata_priv *padata) { do_something(); } void serial(struct padata_priv *padata) { struct request *request = container_of(padata, struct request, padata); complete(request->done); } void user_function() { DECLARE_COMPLETION(done) padata->parallel = parallel; padata->serial = serial; padata_do_parallel(); wait_for_completion(&done); padata_free_shell(); } ``` In the corresponding padata.c file, there's the following code: ```c static void padata_serial_worker(struct work_struct *serial_work) { ... cnt = 0; while (!list_empty(&local_list)) { ... padata->serial(padata); cnt++; } local_bh_enable(); if (refcount_sub_and_test(cnt, &pd->refcnt)) padata_free_pd(pd); } ``` Because of the high system load and the accumulation of unexecuted softirq at this moment, `local_bh_enable()` in padata takes longer to execute than usual. Subsequently, when accessing `pd->refcnt`, `pd` has already been released by `padata_free_shell()`, resulting in a UAF issue with `pd->refcnt`. The fix is straightforward: add `refcount_dec_and_test` before calling `padata_free_pd` in `padata_free_shell`.
CVE-2023-52851 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: IB/mlx5: Fix init stage error handling to avoid double free of same QP and UAF In the unlikely event that workqueue allocation fails and returns NULL in mlx5_mkey_cache_init(), delete the call to mlx5r_umr_resource_cleanup() (which frees the QP) in mlx5_ib_stage_post_ib_reg_umr_init(). This will avoid attempted double free of the same QP when __mlx5_ib_add() does its cleanup. CVE-2023-52840 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: synaptics-rmi4 - fix use after free in rmi_unregister_function() The put_device() calls rmi_release_function() which frees "fn" so the dereference on the next line "fn->num_of_irqs" is a use after free. Move the put_device() to the end to fix this.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: imsttfb: fix a resource leak in probe I've re-written the error handling but the bug is that if init_imstt() fails we need to call iounmap(par->cmap_regs).
CVE-2023-52803 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: Fix RPC client cleaned up the freed pipefs dentries RPC client pipefs dentries cleanup is in separated rpc_remove_pipedir() workqueue, which takes care about pipefs superblock locking. In some special scenarios, when kernel frees the pipefs sb of the current client and immediately alloctes a new pipefs sb, rpc_remove_pipedir function would misjudge the existence of pipefs sb which is not the one it used to hold. As a result, the rpc_remove_pipedir would clean the released freed pipefs dentries. To fix this issue, rpc_remove_pipedir should check whether the current pipefs sb is consistent with the original pipefs sb. CVE-2023-52800 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 4.4 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix htt pktlog locking The ath11k active pdevs are protected by RCU but the htt pktlog handling code calling ath11k_mac_get_ar_by_pdev_id() was not marked as a read-side critical section. Mark the code in question as an RCU read-side critical section to avoid any potential use-after-free issues. Compile tested only.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vhost-vdpa: fix use after free in vhost_vdpa_probe() The put_device() calls vhost_vdpa_release_dev() which calls ida_simple_remove() and frees "v". So this call to ida_simple_remove() is a use after free and a double free.
CVE-2023-52757 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix potential deadlock when releasing mids All release_mid() callers seem to hold a reference of @mid so there is no need to call kref_put(&mid->refcount, __release_mid) under @server->mid_lock spinlock. If they don't, then an use-after-free bug would have occurred anyways. By getting rid of such spinlock also fixes a potential deadlock as shown below CPU 0 CPU 1 ------------------------------------------------------------------ cifs_demultiplex_thread() cifs_debug_data_proc_show() release_mid() spin_lock(&server->mid_lock); spin_lock(&cifs_tcp_ses_lock) spin_lock(&server->mid_lock) __release_mid() smb2_find_smb_tcon() spin_lock(&cifs_tcp_ses_lock) *deadlock*
