CVE-2026-23428 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free of share_conf in compound request smb2_get_ksmbd_tcon() reuses work->tcon in compound requests without validating tcon->t_state. ksmbd_tree_conn_lookup() checks t_state == TREE_CONNECTED on the initial lookup path, but the compound reuse path bypasses this check entirely. If a prior command in the compound (SMB2_TREE_DISCONNECT) sets t_state to TREE_DISCONNECTED and frees share_conf via ksmbd_share_config_put(), subsequent commands dereference the freed share_conf through work->tcon->share_conf. CVE-2026-23427 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free in durable v2 replay of active file handles parse_durable_handle_context() unconditionally assigns dh_info->fp->conn to the current connection when handling a DURABLE_REQ_V2 context with SMB2_FLAGS_REPLAY_OPERATION. ksmbd_lookup_fd_cguid() does not filter by fp->conn, so it returns file handles that are already actively connected. The unconditional overwrite replaces fp->conn, and when the overwriting connection is subsequently freed, __ksmbd_close_fd() dereferences the stale fp->conn via spin_lock(&fp->conn->llist_lock), causing a use-after-free. CVE-2026-23415 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: futex: Fix UaF between futex_key_to_node_opt() and vma_replace_policy() During futex_key_to_node_opt() execution, vma->vm_policy is read under speculative mmap lock and RCU. Concurrently, mbind() may call vma_replace_policy() which frees the old mempolicy immediately via kmem_cache_free(). This creates a race where __futex_key_to_node() dereferences a freed mempolicy pointer, causing a use-after-free read of mpol->mode. CVE-2026-23413 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clsact: Fix use-after-free in init/destroy rollback asymmetry Fix a use-after-free in the clsact qdisc upon init/destroy rollback asymmetry. The latter is achieved by first fully initializing a clsact instance, and then in a second step having a replacement failure for the new clsact qdisc instance. clsact_init() initializes ingress first and then takes care of the egress part. This can fail midway, for example, via tcf_block_get_ext(). Upon failure, the kernel will trigger the clsact_destroy() callback. Commit 1cb6f0bae504 ("bpf: Fix too early release of tcx_entry") details the way how the transition is happening. If tcf_block_get_ext on the q->ingress_block ends up failing, we took the tcx_miniq_inc reference count on the ingress side, but not yet on the egress side. clsact_destroy() tests whether the {ingress,egress}_entry was non-NULL. However, even in midway failure on the replacement, both are in fact non-NULL with a valid egress_entry from the previous clsact instance. What we really need to test for is whether the qdisc instance-specific ingress or egress side previously got initialized. This adds a small helper for checking the miniq initialization called mini_qdisc_pair_inited, and utilizes that upon clsact_destroy() in order to fix the use-after-free scenario. Convert the ingress_destroy() side as well so both are consistent to each other.

CVE-2026-23322 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipmi: Fix use-after-free and list corruption on sender error The analysis from Breno: When the SMI sender returns an error, smi_work() delivers an error response but then jumps back to restart without cleaning up properly: 1. intf->curr_msg is not cleared, so no new message is pulled 2. newmsg still points to the message, causing sender() to be called again with the same message 3. If sender() fails again, deliver_err_response() is called with the same recv_msg that was already queued for delivery This causes list_add corruption ("list_add double add") because the recv_msg is added to the user_msgs list twice. Subsequently, the corrupted list leads to use-after-free when the memory is freed and reused, and eventually a NULL pointer dereference when accessing recv_msg->done. The buggy sequence: sender() fails -> deliver_err_response(recv_msg) // recv_msg queued for delivery -> goto restart // curr_msg not cleared! sender() fails again (same message!) -> deliver_err_response(recv_msg) // tries to queue same recv_msg -> LIST CORRUPTION Fix this by freeing the message and setting it to NULL on a send error. Also, always free the newmsg on a send error, otherwise it will leak.
CVE-2026-23306 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: pm8001: Fix use-after-free in pm8001_queue_command() Commit e29c47fe8946 ("scsi: pm8001: Simplify pm8001_task_exec()") refactors pm8001_queue_command(), however it introduces a potential cause of a double free scenario when it changes the function to return -ENODEV in case of phy down/device gone state. In this path, pm8001_queue_command() updates task status and calls task_done to indicate to upper layer that the task has been handled. However, this also frees the underlying SAS task. A -ENODEV is then returned to the caller. When libsas sas_ata_qc_issue() receives this error value, it assumes the task wasn't handled/queued by LLDD and proceeds to clean up and free the task again, resulting in a double free. Since pm8001_queue_command() handles the SAS task in this case, it should return 0 to the caller indicating that the task has been handled.
CVE-2026-23281 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: libertas: fix use-after-free in lbs_free_adapter() The lbs_free_adapter() function uses timer_delete() (non-synchronous) for both command_timer and tx_lockup_timer before the structure is freed. This is incorrect because timer_delete() does not wait for any running timer callback to complete. If a timer callback is executing when lbs_free_adapter() is called, the callback will access freed memory since lbs_cfg_free() frees the containing structure immediately after lbs_free_adapter() returns. Both timer callbacks (lbs_cmd_timeout_handler and lbs_tx_lockup_handler) access priv->driver_lock, priv->cur_cmd, priv->dev, and other fields, which would all be use-after-free violations. Use timer_delete_sync() instead to ensure any running timer callback has completed before returning. This bug was introduced in commit 8f641d93c38a ("libertas: detect TX lockups and reset hardware") where del_timer() was used instead of del_timer_sync() in the cleanup path. The command_timer has had the same issue since the driver was first written.
CVE-2026-23248 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/core: Fix refcount bug and potential UAF in perf_mmap Syzkaller reported a refcount_t: addition on 0; use-after-free warning in perf_mmap. The issue is caused by a race condition between a failing mmap() setup and a concurrent mmap() on a dependent event (e.g., using output redirection). In perf_mmap(), the ring_buffer (rb) is allocated and assigned to event->rb with the mmap_mutex held. The mutex is then released to perform map_range(). If map_range() fails, perf_mmap_close() is called to clean up. However, since the mutex was dropped, another thread attaching to this event (via inherited events or output redirection) can acquire the mutex, observe the valid event->rb pointer, and attempt to increment its reference count. If the cleanup path has already dropped the reference count to zero, this results in a use-after-free or refcount saturation warning. Fix this by extending the scope of mmap_mutex to cover the map_range() call. This ensures that the ring buffer initialization and mapping (or cleanup on failure) happens atomically effectively, preventing other threads from accessing a half-initialized or dying ring buffer.

For example, use-after-free can occur in race scenario like this: ``` CPU0 CPU1 CPU2 ---- ---- ---- vidi_connection_ioctl() if (vidi->connection) // true drm_edid = drm_edid_alloc(); // alloc drm_edid ... ctx->raw_edid = drm_edid; ... drm_mode_getconnector() drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes() vidi_get_modes() if (ctx->raw_edid) // true drm_edid_dup(ctx->raw_edid); if (!drm_edid) // false ... vidi_connection_ioctl() if (vidi->connection) // false drm_edid_free(ctx->raw_edid); // free drm_edid ... drm_edid_alloc(drm_edid->edid) kmemdup(edid); // UAF!! ... ``` To prevent these vulns, at least in vidi_context, member variables related to memory alloc/free should be protected with ctx->lock.
CVE-2026-23226 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 8.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: add chann_lock to protect ksmbd_chann_list xarray ksmbd_chann_list xarray lacks synchronization, allowing use-after-free in multi-channel sessions (between lookup_chann_list() and ksmbd_chann_del). Adds rw_semaphore chann_lock to struct ksmbd_session and protects all xa_load/xa_store/xa_erase accesses.

CVE-2026-23223 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: fix UAF in xchk_btree_check_block_owner We cannot dereference bs->cur when trying to determine if bs->cur aliases bs->sc->sa.{bno,rmap}_cur after the latter has been freed. Fix this by sampling before type before any freeing could happen. The correct temporal ordering was broken when we removed xfs_btnum_t.
CVE-2026-23221 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bus: fsl-mc: fix use-after-free in driver_override_show() The driver_override_show() function reads the driver_override string without holding the device_lock. However, driver_override_store() uses driver_set_override(), which modifies and frees the string while holding the device_lock. This can result in a concurrent use-after-free if the string is freed by the store function while being read by the show function. Fix this by holding the device_lock around the read operation.
