CVE-2026-31566 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: Fix fence put before wait in amdgpu_amdkfd_submit_ib amdgpu_amdkfd_submit_ib() submits a GPU job and gets a fence from amdgpu_ib_schedule(). This fence is used to wait for job completion. Currently, the code drops the fence reference using dma_fence_put() before calling dma_fence_wait(). If dma_fence_put() releases the last reference, the fence may be freed before dma_fence_wait() is called. This can lead to a use-after-free. Fix this by waiting on the fence first and releasing the reference only after dma_fence_wait() completes. Fixes the below: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_amdkfd.c:697 amdgpu_amdkfd_submit_ib() warn: passing freed memory 'f' (line 696) (cherry picked from commit 8b9e5259adc385b61a6590a13b82ae0ac2bd3482)
CVE-2026-31554 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: futex: Require sys_futex_requeue() to have identical flags Nicholas reported that his LLM found it was possible to create a UaF when sys_futex_requeue() is used with different flags. The initial motivation for allowing different flags was the variable sized futex, but since that hasn't been merged (yet), simply mandate the flags are identical, as is the case for the old style sys_futex() requeue operations.
CVE-2026-31541 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix trace_marker copy link list updates When the "copy_trace_marker" option is enabled for an instance, anything written into /sys/kernel/tracing/trace_marker is also copied into that instances buffer. When the option is set, that instance's trace_array descriptor is added to the marker_copies link list. This list is protected by RCU, as all iterations uses an RCU protected list traversal. When the instance is deleted, all the flags that were enabled are cleared. This also clears the copy_trace_marker flag and removes the trace_array descriptor from the list. The issue is after the flags are called, a direct call to update_marker_trace() is performed to clear the flag. This function returns true if the state of the flag changed and false otherwise. If it returns true here, synchronize_rcu() is called to make sure all readers see that its removed from the list. But since the flag was already cleared, the state does not change and the synchronization is never called, leaving a possible UAF bug. Move the clearing of all flags below the updating of the copy_trace_marker option which then makes sure the synchronization is performed. Also use the flag for checking the state in update_marker_trace() instead of looking at if the list is empty.
CVE-2026-31532 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: raw: fix ro->uniq use-after-free in raw_rcv() raw_release() unregisters raw CAN receive filters via can_rx_unregister(), but receiver deletion is deferred with call_rcu(). This leaves a window where raw_rcv() may still be running in an RCU read-side critical section after raw_release() frees ro->uniq, leading to a use-after-free of the percpu uniq storage. Move free_percpu(ro->uniq) out of raw_release() and into a raw-specific socket destructor. can_rx_unregister() takes an extra reference to the socket and only drops it from the RCU callback, so freeing uniq from sk_destruct ensures the percpu area is not released until the relevant callbacks have drained. [mkl: applied manually]
CVE-2026-31530 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/port: Fix use after free of parent_port in cxl_detach_ep() cxl_detach_ep() is called during bottom-up removal when all CXL memory devices beneath a switch port have been removed. For each port in the hierarchy it locks both the port and its parent, removes the endpoint, and if the port is now empty, marks it dead and unregisters the port by calling delete_switch_port(). There are two places during this work where the parent_port may be used after freeing: First, a concurrent detach may have already processed a port by the time a second worker finds it via bus_find_device(). Without pinning parent_port, it may already be freed when we discover port->dead and attempt to unlock the parent_port. In a production kernel that's a silent memory corruption, with lock debug, it looks like this: []DEBUG_LOCKS_WARN_ON(__owner_task(owner) != get_current()) []WARNING: kernel/locking/mutex.c:949 at __mutex_unlock_slowpath+0x1ee/0x310 []Call Trace: []mutex_unlock+0xd/0x20 []cxl_detach_ep+0x180/0x400 [cxl_core] []devm_action_release+0x10/0x20 []devres_release_all+0xa8/0xe0 []device_unbind_cleanup+0xd/0xa0 []really_probe+0x1a6/0x3e0 Second, delete_switch_port() releases three devm actions registered against parent_port. The last of those is unregister_port() and it calls device_unregister() on the child port, which can cascade. If parent_port is now also empty the device core may unregister and free it too. So by the time delete_switch_port() returns, parent_port may be free, and the subsequent device_unlock(&parent_port->dev) operates on freed memory. The kernel log looks same as above, with a different offset in cxl_detach_ep(). Both of these issues stem from the absence of a lifetime guarantee between a child port and its parent port. Establish a lifetime rule for ports: child ports hold a reference to their parent device until release. Take the reference when the port is allocated and drop it when released. This ensures the parent is valid for the full lifetime of the child and eliminates the use after free window in cxl_detach_ep(). This is easily reproduced with a reload of cxl_acpi in QEMU with CXL devices present.
CVE-2026-31527 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: driver core: platform: use generic driver_override infrastructure When a driver is probed through __driver_attach(), the bus' match() callback is called without the device lock held, thus accessing the driver_override field without a lock, which can cause a UAF. Fix this by using the driver-core driver_override infrastructure taking care of proper locking internally. Note that calling match() from __driver_attach() without the device lock held is intentional. [1]
CVE-2026-31511 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: MGMT: Fix dangling pointer on mgmt_add_adv_patterns_monitor_complete This fixes the condition checking so mgmt_pending_valid is executed whenever status != -ECANCELED otherwise calling mgmt_pending_free(cmd) would kfree(cmd) without unlinking it from the list first, leaving a dangling pointer. Any subsequent list traversal (e.g., mgmt_pending_foreach during __mgmt_power_off, or another mgmt_pending_valid call) would dereference freed memory.
CVE-2026-31501 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ti: icssg-prueth: fix use-after-free of CPPI descriptor in RX path cppi5_hdesc_get_psdata() returns a pointer into the CPPI descriptor. In both emac_rx_packet() and emac_rx_packet_zc(), the descriptor is freed via k3_cppi_desc_pool_free() before the psdata pointer is used by emac_rx_timestamp(), which dereferences psdata[0] and psdata[1]. This constitutes a use-after-free on every received packet that goes through the timestamp path. Defer the descriptor free until after all accesses through the psdata pointer are complete. For emac_rx_packet(), move the free into the requeue label so both early-exit and success paths free the descriptor after all accesses are done. For emac_rx_packet_zc(), move the free to the end of the loop body after emac_dispatch_skb_zc() (which calls emac_rx_timestamp()) has returned.
CVE-2026-31500 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel: serialize btintel_hw_error() with hci_req_sync_lock btintel_hw_error() issues two __hci_cmd_sync() calls (HCI_OP_RESET and Intel exception-info retrieval) without holding hci_req_sync_lock(). This lets it race against hci_dev_do_close() -> btintel_shutdown_combined(), which also runs __hci_cmd_sync() under the same lock. When both paths manipulate hdev->req_status/req_rsp concurrently, the close path may free the response skb first, and the still-running hw_error path hits a slab-use-after-free in kfree_skb(). Wrap the whole recovery sequence in hci_req_sync_lock/unlock so it is serialized with every other synchronous HCI command issuer. Below is the data race report and the kasan report: BUG: data-race in __hci_cmd_sync_sk / btintel_shutdown_combined read of hdev->req_rsp at net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:199 by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x114/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:254 hci_error_reset+0x348/0xa30 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:1030 write/free by task ioctl/22580: btintel_shutdown_combined+0xd0/0x360 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:3648 hci_dev_close_sync+0x9ae/0x2c10 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:5246 hci_dev_do_close+0x232/0x460 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:526 BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in sk_skb_reason_drop+0x43/0x380 net/core/skbuff.c:1202 Read of size 4 at addr ffff888144a738dc by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x186/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:260
CVE-2026-31493 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/efa: Fix use of completion ctx after free On admin queue completion handling, if the admin command completed with error we print data from the completion context. The issue is that we already freed the completion context in polling/interrupts handler which means we print data from context in an unknown state (it might be already used again). Change the admin submission flow so alloc/dealloc of the context will be symmetric and dealloc will be called after any potential use of the context.
CVE-2026-31490 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/pf: Fix use-after-free in migration restore When an error is returned from xe_sriov_pf_migration_restore_produce(), the data pointer is not set to NULL, which can trigger use-after-free in subsequent .write() calls. Set the pointer to NULL upon error to fix the problem. (cherry picked from commit 4f53d8c6d23527d734fe3531d08e15cb170a0819)
CVE-2026-31473 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mc, v4l2: serialize REINIT and REQBUFS with req_queue_mutex MEDIA_REQUEST_IOC_REINIT can run concurrently with VIDIOC_REQBUFS(0) queue teardown paths. This can race request object cleanup against vb2 queue cancellation and lead to use-after-free reports. We already serialize request queueing against STREAMON/OFF with req_queue_mutex. Extend that serialization to REQBUFS, and also take the same mutex in media_request_ioctl_reinit() so REINIT is in the same exclusion domain. This keeps request cleanup and queue cancellation from running in parallel for request-capable devices.
CVE-2026-31455 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: stop reclaim before pushing AIL during unmount The unmount sequence in xfs_unmount_flush_inodes() pushed the AIL while background reclaim and inodegc are still running. This is broken independently of any use-after-free issues - background reclaim and inodegc should not be running while the AIL is being pushed during unmount, as inodegc can dirty and insert inodes into the AIL during the flush, and background reclaim can race to abort and free dirty inodes. Reorder xfs_unmount_flush_inodes() to stop inodegc and cancel background reclaim before pushing the AIL. Stop inodegc before cancelling m_reclaim_work because the inodegc worker can re-queue m_reclaim_work via xfs_inodegc_set_reclaimable.
CVE-2026-31454 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.8 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: save ailp before dropping the AIL lock in push callbacks In xfs_inode_item_push() and xfs_qm_dquot_logitem_push(), the AIL lock is dropped to perform buffer IO. Once the cluster buffer no longer protects the log item from reclaim, the log item may be freed by background reclaim or the dquot shrinker. The subsequent spin_lock() call dereferences lip->li_ailp, which is a use-after-free. Fix this by saving the ailp pointer in a local variable while the AIL lock is held and the log item is guaranteed to be valid.
CVE-2026-31444 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 9.8 CRITICAL
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix use-after-free and NULL deref in smb_grant_oplock() smb_grant_oplock() has two issues in the oplock publication sequence: 1) opinfo is linked into ci->m_op_list (via opinfo_add) before add_lease_global_list() is called. If add_lease_global_list() fails (kmalloc returns NULL), the error path frees the opinfo via __free_opinfo() while it is still linked in ci->m_op_list. Concurrent m_op_list readers (opinfo_get_list, or direct iteration in smb_break_all_levII_oplock) dereference the freed node. 2) opinfo->o_fp is assigned after add_lease_global_list() publishes the opinfo on the global lease list. A concurrent find_same_lease_key() can walk the lease list and dereference opinfo->o_fp->f_ci while o_fp is still NULL. Fix by restructuring the publication sequence to eliminate post-publish failure: - Set opinfo->o_fp before any list publication (fixes NULL deref). - Preallocate lease_table via alloc_lease_table() before opinfo_add() so add_lease_global_list() becomes infallible after publication. - Keep the original m_op_list publication order (opinfo_add before lease list) so concurrent opens via same_client_has_lease() and opinfo_get_list() still see the in-flight grant. - Use opinfo_put() instead of __free_opinfo() on err_out so that the RCU-deferred free path is used. This also requires splitting add_lease_global_list() to take a preallocated lease_table and changing its return type from int to void, since it can no longer fail.
CVE-2026-31426 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-06-17 N/A 7.0 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ACPI: EC: clean up handlers on probe failure in acpi_ec_setup() When ec_install_handlers() returns -EPROBE_DEFER on reduced-hardware platforms, it has already started the EC and installed the address space handler with the struct acpi_ec pointer as handler context. However, acpi_ec_setup() propagates the error without any cleanup. The caller acpi_ec_add() then frees the struct acpi_ec for non-boot instances, leaving a dangling handler context in ACPICA. Any subsequent AML evaluation that accesses an EC OpRegion field dispatches into acpi_ec_space_handler() with the freed pointer, causing a use-after-free: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in mutex_lock (kernel/locking/mutex.c:289) Write of size 8 at addr ffff88800721de38 by task init/1 Call Trace: <TASK> mutex_lock (kernel/locking/mutex.c:289) acpi_ec_space_handler (drivers/acpi/ec.c:1362) acpi_ev_address_space_dispatch (drivers/acpi/acpica/evregion.c:293) acpi_ex_access_region (drivers/acpi/acpica/exfldio.c:246) acpi_ex_field_datum_io (drivers/acpi/acpica/exfldio.c:509) acpi_ex_extract_from_field (drivers/acpi/acpica/exfldio.c:700) acpi_ex_read_data_from_field (drivers/acpi/acpica/exfield.c:327) acpi_ex_resolve_node_to_value (drivers/acpi/acpica/exresolv.c:392) </TASK> Allocated by task 1: acpi_ec_alloc (drivers/acpi/ec.c:1424) acpi_ec_add (drivers/acpi/ec.c:1692) Freed by task 1: kfree (mm/slub.c:6876) acpi_ec_add (drivers/acpi/ec.c:1751) The bug triggers on reduced-hardware EC platforms (ec->gpe < 0) when the GPIO IRQ provider defers probing. Once the stale handler exists, any unprivileged sysfs read that causes AML to touch an EC OpRegion (battery, thermal, backlight) exercises the dangling pointer. Fix this by calling ec_remove_handlers() in the error path of acpi_ec_setup() before clearing first_ec. ec_remove_handlers() checks each EC_FLAGS_* bit before acting, so it is safe to call regardless of how far ec_install_handlers() progressed: -ENODEV (handler not installed): only calls acpi_ec_stop() -EPROBE_DEFER (handler installed): removes handler, stops EC
