CVE-2026-54876 2026-08-28 N/A 7.5 HIGH
Issue summary: A malicious TLS server can cause a memory leak in a TLS client that has enabled OCSP response checking by sending an OCSP response that contains no single response entries. Impact summary: An attacker can leak an attacker-tunable amount of memory per TLS handshake in a victim client application. A long-running client that repeatedly connects to a malicious server can have its memory exhausted, resulting in a Denial of Service. CWE: CWE-401: Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime Description: The affected function is called during X.509 certificate chain verification when OCSP response checking is enabled with the X509_V_FLAG_OCSP_RESP_CHECK or X509_V_FLAG_OCSP_RESP_CHECK_ALL verification flags, for example when a TLS client verifies an OCSP response stapled into the TLS handshake by the server. When the received BasicOCSPResponse contains an empty SEQUENCE OF SingleResponse, which is permitted on the wire and accepted by the OpenSSL decoder, the OCSP_BASICRESP structure allocated by OCSP_response_get1_basic() was not freed because an early return bypassed the cleanup code at the end of the function. The amount of memory leaked per handshake can be amplified by the attacker by padding the certs field of the BasicOCSPResponse with bogus certificates, which are parsed and stored in the leaked structure before the empty response check triggers the early return. A long-running TLS client that repeatedly connects to a malicious server can have its memory exhausted over time. OCSP response checking is not enabled by default. Only client applications that explicitly enable the OCSP response check verification flags are affected. FIPS impact: no The FIPS modules in 4.0 and 3.6 are not affected by this issue as the affected code is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary.
CVE-2026-1605 1 Eclipse 1 Jetty 2026-08-27 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In Eclipse Jetty, versions 12.0.0-12.0.31 and 12.1.0-12.0.5, class GzipHandler exposes a vulnerability when a compressed HTTP request, with Content-Encoding: gzip, is processed and the corresponding response is not compressed. This happens because the JDK Inflater is allocated for decompressing the request, but it is not released because the release mechanism is tied to the compressed response. In this case, since the response is not compressed, the release mechanism does not trigger, causing the leak.
CVE-2026-12999 2026-08-26 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
The Infineon Airoc Wi-Fi driver's transmit callback airoc_mgmt_send() in drivers/wifi/infineon/airoc_wifi.c allocates a net_buf from the fixed airoc_pool for every outbound packet. When whd_network_send_ethernet_data() returns a synchronous failure, the underlying WHD library does not take ownership of the buffer, but the pre-fix driver returned -EIO without releasing it. Each failed transmit therefore permanently leaks one buffer from the pool. airoc_pool is small and fixed (AIROC_WIFI_TX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT + AIROC_WIFI_RX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT, default 20 buffers) and is shared by WHD's whd_host_buffer_get callback for both transmit and receive. Once enough send failures have leaked the pool dry, airoc_wifi_host_buffer_get() returns WHD_BUFFER_ALLOC_FAIL for all subsequent allocations, so both transmit and the WHD-driven receive path fail and Wi-Fi connectivity is lost until the device is rebooted. The leak occurs only on the transmit error path. A Wi-Fi-adjacent attacker can influence the conditions that cause synchronous send failures (for example by deauthenticating/disassociating the station while the local stack continues to attempt transmits), and ordinary transient failures over the device's lifetime accumulate toward the same state. Reliable on-demand triggering is of high complexity and the impact is availability-only, but the resulting denial of service is permanent and non-recoverable without a reboot. The fix releases the buffer with airoc_wifi_buffer_release() on the failure branch, returning it to the pool. The commit also removes a redundant k_sem_give() in airoc_mgmt_disconnect(); because data->sema_common is a binary semaphore (limit 1) the duplicate give merely saturated at 1 and had no security impact.
CVE-2021-47644 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-26 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: staging: media: zoran: move videodev alloc Move some code out of zr36057_init() and create new functions for handling zr->video_dev. This permit to ease code reading and fix a zr->video_dev memory leak.
CVE-2020-13934 6 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 3 more 14 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 11 more 2026-08-25 5.0 MEDIUM 7.5 HIGH
An h2c direct connection to Apache Tomcat 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.0-M6, 9.0.0.M5 to 9.0.36 and 8.5.1 to 8.5.56 did not release the HTTP/1.1 processor after the upgrade to HTTP/2. If a sufficient number of such requests were made, an OutOfMemoryException could occur leading to a denial of service.
CVE-2026-76235 2026-08-25 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A memory leak flaw was found in cockpit-ws. The login page handler leaks a heap allocation on every unauthenticated request that carries a CockpitLang cookie, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to exhaust memory on the host and cause a denial of service.
CVE-2026-64139 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix SID memory leak in set_posix_acl_entries_dacl() on overflow Commit 299f962c0b02 ("ksmbd: use check_add_overflow() to prevent u16 DACL size overflow") added check_add_overflow() guards that break out of the ACE-building loops in set_posix_acl_entries_dacl() when the accumulated DACL size would wrap past 65535. However, each iteration allocates a struct smb_sid via kmalloc_obj() at the top of the loop and relies on the kfree(sid) call at the end of the loop body (the 'pass_same_sid' label in the first loop, and the explicit kfree at the tail of the second loop) to release it. The newly introduced 'break' statements bypass those kfree() calls, leaking the sid buffer every time an overflow is detected. A malicious or malformed file with enough POSIX ACL entries to trip the overflow check will leak one or more struct smb_sid allocations on every request that touches the file's DACL, providing a trivial kernel memory exhaustion vector. Free sid before breaking out of the loops to plug the leak.
CVE-2025-23160 2 Debian, Linux 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mediatek: vcodec: Fix a resource leak related to the scp device in FW initialization On Mediatek devices with a system companion processor (SCP) the mtk_scp structure has to be removed explicitly to avoid a resource leak. Free the structure in case the allocation of the firmware structure fails during the firmware initialization.
CVE-2024-1394 2026-08-21 N/A 7.5 HIGH
A memory leak flaw was found in Golang in the RSA encrypting/decrypting code, which might lead to a resource exhaustion vulnerability using attacker-controlled inputs. The memory leak happens in github.com/golang-fips/openssl/openssl/rsa.go#L113. The objects leaked are pkey and ctx. That function uses named return parameters to free pkey and ctx if there is an error initializing the context or setting the different properties. All return statements related to error cases follow the "return nil, nil, fail(...)" pattern, meaning that pkey and ctx will be nil inside the deferred function that should free them.
CVE-2026-21714 1 Nodejs 1 Node.js 2026-08-19 N/A 5.3 MEDIUM
A memory leak occurs in Node.js HTTP/2 servers when a client sends WINDOW_UPDATE frames on stream 0 (connection-level) that cause the flow control window to exceed the maximum value of 2³¹-1. The server correctly sends a GOAWAY frame, but the Http2Session object is never cleaned up. This vulnerability affects HTTP2 users on Node.js 20, 22, 24 and 25.
CVE-2026-53365 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-18 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: fix zerocopy completion for multi-skb sends When a large message is fragmented into multiple skbs, the zerocopy uarg is only allocated and attached to the last skb in the loop. Non-final skbs carry pinned user pages with no completion tracking, so the kernel has no way to notify userspace when those pages are safe to reuse. If the loop breaks early the uarg is never allocated at all, leaking pinned pages with no completion notification. Fix this by following the approach used by TCP: allocate the zerocopy uarg (if not provided by the caller) before the send loop and attach it to every skb via skb_zcopy_set(), which takes a reference per skb. Each skb's completion properly decrements the refcount, and the notification only fires after the last skb is freed. On failure, if no data was sent, the uarg is cleanly aborted via net_zcopy_put_abort(). This issue was initially discovered by sashiko while reviewing commit 1cb36e252211 ("vsock/virtio: fix MSG_ZEROCOPY pinned-pages accounting") but was pre-existing.
CVE-2026-64144 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btmtk: fix urb->setup_packet leak in error paths The setup_packet of control urb is not freed if usb_submit_urb fails or the submitted urb is killed. Add free in these two paths.
CVE-2026-64146 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: fix metabuf leak in inode xattr initialization commit bb88e8da0025 ("erofs: use meta buffers for xattr operations") converted xattr operations to use on-stack erofs_buf instances. erofs_init_inode_xattrs() uses such a metabuf while reading the inline xattr header and shared xattr id array. Some error paths after erofs_read_metabuf() leave through out_unlock without dropping the metabuf, so the folio reference can leak. Consolidate the cleanup at out_unlock. erofs_put_metabuf() is a no-op if no folio has been acquired, and this keeps all paths after taking EROFS_I_BL_XATTR_BIT covered by a single cleanup site.
CVE-2026-64147 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pds_core: fix debugfs_lookup dentry leak and error handling debugfs_lookup() returns a dentry with an elevated reference count that must be released with dput(). The current code discards the returned dentry without calling dput(), causing a reference leak on every firmware reset recovery. Additionally, when CONFIG_DEBUG_FS is disabled, debugfs_lookup() returns ERR_PTR(-ENODEV), not NULL. The current check passes for error pointers and would call dput() on an invalid pointer, causing a crash.
CVE-2026-64155 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: fix error path leaks in some WMI WOW calls Fix two instances where we used to directly return the result of ath11k_wmi_cmd_send(...). Because we did not check the return value, we also did not free the skb in the error path.
CVE-2026-64292 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd: Move vevent memory allocation outside spinlock The veventq memory allocation happens inside the spinlock. Given its depth is decided by the user space, this leaves a vulnerability, where userspace can allocate large queues to exhaust atomic memory reserves. Move the allocation outside the spinlock and use GFP_NOWAIT, which can fail fast under memory pressure without dipping into the GFP_ATOMIC reserves or direct-reclaiming from the threaded IRQ handler. On allocation failure, queue the lost_events_header (so userspace learns of the drop) and return -ENOMEM so the caller learns of the kernel-side memory pressure. This is intentionally distinct from the queue-overflow path, which also queues the lost_events_header but returns 0: a full queue is an expected userspace-pacing condition rather than a kernel error. A subsequent change will cap the upper bound of the veventq_depth.
CVE-2026-63798 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 5.5 MEDIUM
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: irqchip/imgpdc: Fix resource leak, add missing chained handler cleanup on remove The driver allocates domain generic chips using irq_alloc_domain_generic_chips() during probe and sets up chained handlers using irq_set_chained_handler_and_data(). However, on driver removal, the generic chips are not freed and the chained handlers are not removed. The generic chips remain on the global gc_list and may later be accessed by generic interrupt chip suspend, resume, or shutdown callbacks after the driver has been removed, potentially resulting in a use-after-free and kernel crash. The chained handlers that were installed in probe for peripheral and syswake interrupts are also left dangling, which can lead to spurious interrupts accessing freed memory. Fix these issues by: - Setting IRQ_DOMAIN_FLAG_DESTROY_GC flag in domain->flags, so the core code automatically removes generic chips when irq_domain_remove() is called - Clearing all chained handlers with NULL in pdc_intc_remove()
CVE-2026-53397 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix posix_acl leak on SETACL decode failure nfsaclsvc_decode_setaclargs() and nfs3svc_decode_setaclargs() each call nfs_stream_decode_acl() twice, first for NFS_ACL and then for NFS_DFACL. Each successful call transfers ownership of a freshly allocated posix_acl into argp->acl_access or argp->acl_default. If the first call succeeds but the second fails, the decoder returns false and argp->acl_access is left dangling. ACLPROC2_SETACL.pc_release was wired to nfssvc_release_attrstat and ACLPROC3_SETACL.pc_release was wired to nfs3svc_release_fhandle. Both only call fh_put() and have no knowledge of the ACL fields on argp. The posix_acl_release() pairs sat at the out: labels inside nfsacld_proc_setacl() and nfsd3_proc_setacl(), but svc_process() skips pc_func when pc_decode returns false, so that cleanup is unreachable on decode failure: svc_process_common() pc_decode() /* decode_setaclargs: false */ /* pc_func skipped */ pc_release() /* fh_put only -- ACLs leaked */ The orphaned posix_acl is leaked for the lifetime of the server. Fix by adding nfsaclsvc_release_setacl() and nfs3svc_release_setacl(), which release both argp->acl_access and argp->acl_default in addition to fh_put(), and wiring them as pc_release for their respective SETACL procedures. pc_release runs on every path svc_process() takes after decode, including decode failure, so the posix_acl_release() pairs are removed from the proc functions' out: labels to keep ownership in one place. This matches the existing release_getacl() pattern used by the sibling GETACL procedures.
CVE-2026-53396 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 7.1 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix posix_acl leak and ignored error in nfsd4_create_file nfsd4_create_file() has two bugs in its ACL handling: The return value of nfsd4_acl_to_attr() is silently discarded. When the NFSv4-to-POSIX ACL conversion fails (e.g., -EINVAL for unsupported ACE types), the file is created without any ACL and the client receives NFS4_OK. This violates RFC 7530/8881 which require the server to reject unsupported attributes on CREATE. When start_creating() fails after ACL attributes have been populated in attrs (either via nfsd4_acl_to_attr or via ownership transfer from open->op_dpacl/op_pacl), the function jumps to out_write which skips nfsd_attrs_free(). The posix_acl allocations are leaked. A client can trigger this repeatedly with OPEN(CREATE), ACL attributes, and an invalid filename (e.g., longer than NAME_MAX). Fix both by capturing the nfsd4_acl_to_attr() return value and by changing the early error paths to jump to out instead of out_write. Initialize child to ERR_PTR(-EINVAL) so that end_creating() is safe to call even if start_creating() was never reached.
CVE-2026-53394 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-17 N/A 7.5 HIGH
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: avoid leaking pre-allocated openowner on unconfirmed retry race When find_or_alloc_open_stateowner() encounters an unconfirmed owner, it calls release_openowner() and sets oo = NULL. Control then falls through past the `if (oo)` guard -- which would have freed any pre-allocated `new` -- and unconditionally executes `new = alloc_stateowner(...)`. If `new` was already allocated on a prior iteration, the pointer is silently overwritten and the previous allocation (slab object + owner name buffer) is leaked. This requires a race: two NFSv4.0 OPEN threads with the same owner string, where a concurrent thread inserts a new unconfirmed owner into the hash between retry iterations. The window is narrow but repeatable under adversarial conditions. Fix by adding `goto retry` after `oo = NULL` so the already-allocated `new` is reused on the next iteration rather than overwritten.
