| CVE-2026-118767 | 2026-10-30 | N/A | 4.8 MEDIUM | ||
| Botan is a C++ cryptography library. From 1.11.22 until 3.13.0, Botan's Python binding converted Python strings containing U+0000 to const char* values without consistently rejecting the embedded NUL, causing bcrypt and check_bcrypt to process only the prefix before the NUL. Applications could validate a longer password but hash a shorter effective value, allowing application password-policy bypass; scrypt and argon2 are unaffected. This issue is fixed in version 3.13.0. | |||||
| CVE-2026-116566 | 2026-10-30 | N/A | N/A | ||
| socket.getaddrinfo() previously accepted null bytes within *host* and *port* parameters which can cause the values to be silently truncated. | |||||
| CVE-2026-23863 | 1 Whatsapp | 1 Whatsapp | 2026-10-26 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
| An attachment spoofing issue in WhatsApp for Windows prior to v2.3000.1032164386.258709 could have allowed maliciously formatted documents with embedded NUL bytes in the filename to be shown in the application as one type of file but run as an executable when opened. We have not seen evidence of exploitation in the wild. | |||||
| CVE-2026-43895 | 1 Jqlang | 1 Jq | 2026-10-26 | N/A | 4.4 MEDIUM |
| jq is a command-line JSON processor. In 1.8.1 and earlier, jq accepts embedded NUL bytes in import paths at the jq-language level, but later resolves those paths through C string operations during module and data-file lookup. This creates a mismatch between the logical import string that policy or audit code may validate and the on-disk path that jq actually opens. | |||||
| CVE-2026-41256 | 1 Jqlang | 1 Jq | 2026-10-26 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
| jq is a command-line JSON processor. In 1.8.1 and earlier, Top-level jq programs loaded from a file with -f are truncated at the first embedded NUL byte on current upstream HEAD. A crafted filter file such as . followed by \x00 and arbitrary suffix compiles and executes as only the prefix before the NUL. This leaves jq with a post-CVE-2026-33948 prefix/full-buffer mismatch on the compilation path even though the JSON parser path has already been fixed. | |||||
| CVE-2026-47778 | 1 Envoyproxy | 1 Envoy | 2026-10-25 | N/A | 4.4 MEDIUM |
| Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.35.11, 1.36.7, 1.37.3, and 1.38.1, a structural flaw was identified in DefaultCertValidator::verifySubjectAltName where the extracted DNS SAN string is cast to a C-style string using .c_str() before being passed to the Utility::dnsNameMatch() algorithm. If the attacker serves a certificate with a dNSName SAN containing an embedded NUL byte, the helper Utility::generalNameAsString captures the complete string including the NUL. However, when .c_str() evaluates it, implicit conversion to absl::string_view inside dnsNameMatch relies on strlen(), prematurely truncating the evaluation context. Envoy evaluates trucated string against the exact required config_san match and returns true, thereby successfully validating the string with the Nul byte for an upstream routing. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.35.11, 1.36.7, 1.37.3, and 1.38.1. | |||||
| CVE-2025-14388 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL | ||
| The PhastPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Read via null byte injection in all versions up to, and including, 3.7. This is due to a discrepancy between the extension validation in `getExtensionForURL()` which operates on URL-decoded paths, and `appendNormalized()` which strips everything after a null byte before constructing the filesystem path. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files from the webroot, including wp-config.php, by appending a double URL-encoded null byte (%2500) followed by an allowed extension (.txt) to the file path. | |||||
| CVE-2025-9648 | 2026-10-19 | N/A | N/A | ||
| A vulnerability in the CivetWeb library's function mg_handle_form_request allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (DoS) condition. By sending a specially crafted HTTP POST request containing a null byte in the payload, the server enters an infinite loop during form data parsing. Multiple malicious requests will result in complete CPU exhaustion and render the service unresponsive to further requests. This issue was fixed in commit 782e189. This issue affects only the library, standalone executable pre-built by vendor is not affected. | |||||
| CVE-2025-66263 | 1 Dbbroadcast | 44 Mozart Dds Next 100, Mozart Dds Next 1000, Mozart Dds Next 1000 Firmware and 41 more | 2026-10-19 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
| Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Read via Null Byte Injection in DB Electronica Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. Mozart FM Transmitter versions 30, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 3500, 6000, 7000 allows an attacker to perform Null byte injection in download_setting.php allows reading arbitrary files. The `/var/tdf/download_setting.php` endpoint constructs file paths by concatenating user-controlled `$_GET['filename']` with a forced `.tgz` extension. Running on PHP 5.3.2 (pre-5.3.4), the application is vulnerable to null byte injection (%00), allowing attackers to bypass the extension restriction and traverse paths. By requesting `filename=../../../../etc/passwd%00`, the underlying C functions treat the null byte as a string terminator, ignoring the appended `.tgz` and enabling unauthenticated arbitrary file disclosure of any file readable by the web server user. | |||||
| CVE-2026-84790 | 2026-10-18 | N/A | N/A | ||
| OpenVPN 2.7_alpha1 through 2.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate others via a crafted certificate subject field | |||||
| CVE-2026-92705 | 2026-10-16 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH | ||
| Aegisub is a cross-platform advanced subtitle editor. From 3.2.0 to 3.4.2, Aegisub automatically loads Automation scripts referenced by `Automation Scripts` metadata in `ASS` subtitle projects without asking whether the user trusts the scripts or their authors. An attacker can distribute a crafted `ASS` file together with a referenced malicious Automation script, and opening the `AS` file executes arbitrary code with the privileges of the Aegisub process. From 3.4.0 to 3.4.2, inconsistent handling of embedded `NUL` characters between extension validation and filesystem operations additionally allows a crafted `ASS/Lua` polyglot to reference and execute itself as a single-file variant. The vulnerability is fixed in Aegisub 3.5.0. | |||||
| CVE-2025-61985 | 2026-10-15 | N/A | 3.6 LOW | ||
| ssh in OpenSSH before 10.1 allows the '\0' character in an ssh:// URI, potentially leading to code execution when a ProxyCommand is used. | |||||
| CVE-2026-105239 | 1 Apache | 1 Log4net | 2026-10-09 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| Improper Neutralization of Null Byte or NUL Character vulnerability in the EventLogAppender of Apache log4net. A NUL character in logged content ended the Windows Event Log record at that point, so everything the layout rendered after it, including exception text and trailing fields, was silently not stored. A party whose data reaches a log message could hide the rest of that record. Only applications on Windows that use EventLogAppender are affected. This issue affects Apache log4net: from 1.2.9 before 3.5.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.5.0, which fixes the issue. | |||||
| CVE-2026-105240 | 1 Apache | 1 Log4net | 2026-10-09 | N/A | 5.3 MEDIUM |
| Improper Neutralization of Null Byte or NUL Character vulnerability in the OutputDebugStringAppender of Apache log4net. A NUL character in logged content ended the debug output record at that point, so everything the layout rendered after it, including exception text and trailing fields, was silently lost. A party whose data reaches a log message could hide the rest of that record. Only applications on Windows that use OutputDebugStringAppender are affected. This issue affects Apache log4net: from 1.2.9 before 3.5.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.5.0, which fixes the issue. | |||||
| CVE-2026-70603 | 1 Electronjs | 1 Electron | 2026-10-08 | N/A | 6.0 MEDIUM |
| Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 39.8.6, 40.9.0, 41.1.1, and 42.0.0-beta.1, shell.openPath() did not reject paths containing embedded null bytes. Apps that perform string-only validation of file paths, for example checking the file extension, before passing them to shell.openPath() could be bypassed, allowing an attacker-controlled path to open a different file than the one that passed validation. Apps are only affected if they pass paths derived from untrusted input to shell.openPath() and rely on string-based validation without a filesystem check. This issue is fixed in versions 39.8.6, 40.9.0, 41.1.1, and 42.0.0-beta.1. | |||||
| CVE-2025-1936 | 1 Mozilla | 2 Firefox, Thunderbird | 2026-10-05 | N/A | 7.3 HIGH |
| jar: URLs retrieve local file content packaged in a ZIP archive. The null and everything after it was ignored when retrieving the content from the archive, but the fake extension after the null was used to determine the type of content. This could have been used to hide code in a web extension disguised as something else like an image. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 136, Firefox ESR 128.8, Thunderbird 136, and Thunderbird 128.8. | |||||
| CVE-2026-76354 | 1 Splunk | 1 Splunk | 2026-08-21 | N/A | 8.1 HIGH |
| In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could affect system integrity and availability by sending a crafted Representational State Transfer (REST) API request that deletes or temporarily overwrites files writable by the user account running Splunk Enterprise processes on a non-captain search head cluster member. The vulnerability is possible because Search Head Clustering bundle replication does not validate the name of a replicated bundle file or neutralize NUL bytes before constructing the member bundle path. For more information see About search head clustering (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/distributed-search/10.4/overview-of-search-head-clustering/about-search-head-clustering), Define roles on the Splunk platform with capabilities (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.4/manage-splunk-platform-users-and-roles/define-roles-on-the-splunk-platform-with-capabilities), and Secure Splunk Enterprise service accounts (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/9.0/install-splunk-enterprise-securely/secure-splunk-enterprise-service-accounts) in the Splunk documentation. | |||||
| CVE-2026-4359 | 1 Mongodb | 1 C Driver | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 2.0 LOW |
| A compromised third party cloud server or man-in-the-middle attacker could send a malformed HTTP response and cause a crash in applications using the MongoDB C driver. | |||||
| CVE-2026-43861 | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 3.7 LOW | ||
| mutt before 2.3.2 does not check for '\0' in url_pct_decode. | |||||
| CVE-2026-43859 | 2026-06-17 | N/A | 3.7 LOW | ||
| mutt before 2.3.2 sometimes uses strfcpy instead of memcpy for the IMAP auth_cram MD5 digest. | |||||
