CVE-2026-71194

In OpenStack Designate before 22.0.2, the mDNS handler performs pool-blind lookups when resolving record queries and NOTIFY requests. When two zones with the same name exist across different pools, the lookup fails with a deterministic error, causing the handler to return REFUSED for all DNS queries through that path. The _handle_notify path is exploitable via a single unauthenticated UDP packet. This is independently reachable through the cross-tenant zone overlap described in a different recent CVE, and also affects legitimate same-tenant cross-pool configurations. BIND9 views do not mitigate this issue as mDNS is a shared service upstream of any view configuration.

Summary		(es) En OpenStack Designate antes de 22.0.2, el gestor de mDNS realiza búsquedas ciegas de pool al resolver consultas de registros y solicitudes NOTIFY. Cuando dos zonas con el mismo nombre existen en diferentes pools, la búsqueda falla con un error determinista, haciendo que el gestor devuelva REFUSED para todas las consultas DNS a través de esa ruta. La ruta _handle_notify es explotable a través de un único paquete UDP no autenticado. Esto es alcanzable de forma independiente a través de la superposición de zonas entre inquilinos descrita en una CVE reciente diferente, y también afecta a configuraciones legítimas entre pools del mismo inquilino. Las vistas de BIND9 no mitigan este problema ya que mDNS es un servicio compartido aguas arriba de cualquier configuración de vista.
