Nexus Repository 3 did not sufficiently restrict which HikariCP connection-pool properties could be set through the DataStore configuration API. A user holding the nx-datastores-update permission could set the connectionInitSql property to execute arbitrary SQL against the configured database on every new connection. On the default H2 database backend, this could be leveraged to achieve remote code execution as the Nexus process user.

  • (es) Nexus Repository 3 no restringía suficientemente qué propiedades del pool de conexiones de HikariCP podían configurarse a través de la API de configuración de DataStore. Un usuario con el permiso nx-datastores-update podía establecer la propiedad connectionInitSql para ejecutar SQL arbitrario contra la base de datos configurada en cada nueva conexión. En el backend de base de datos H2 predeterminado, esto podría aprovecharse para lograr ejecución remota de código como el usuario del proceso de Nexus.
